P90X and other at-home workouts?
I know a bunch of you ladies have either expressed and interest in doing P90X, Insanity or something similar - or you have done it while getting in shape for the wedding (or for keeping the post-wedding pounds at bay!)Here's my question: Did you follow the diet? If so, was it hard?
My diet is always my downfall and I'm thinking of starting Jillian Michaels' Making the Cut, which is very focused not only on the workouts but on the diet. I'm one of those people who literally needs everything planned out otherwise there's too much room for 'error' (aka a burrito for lunch lol).

My diet is my downfall for this as well. The problem though- I don't eat ENOUGH! You need to really bump up the calories to be able to keep up the program. I never did and I always got burnt out after 2 or 3 weeks.

i never follow any at home workout diet plans b/c i love to eat whatever food i want. so for me, it was more cutting down on the portions and less fatty foods

This is sort of my downfall... WHEN i don't eat enough, I eat too much to overcompensate!
vicious cycle...I'm going to read through the book a little more and see if it will I can map out a reasonable diet plan for me to follow while I do the workouts!

Insanity Bride here...lost over 15 pounds before the wedding. I didn't follow the diet, but followed WW instead. I did three rounds of it and an extra round of the second month (7 months total) I love it. I just started again after a three week hiatus...I want to lose the honeymoon weight.

Re: P90X and other at-home workouts?
I did P90X last year with DH, but we didn't do the diet. We just did the workouts and tried to eat healthy! I lost about 7 lbs (I was aiming for 5 so right on!) and FH lost about 20 (but he had quite a bit to lose). I bet if we had followed the plan we could have lost more. But for me the diet was very limiting and we needed to have more flexibility since neither of us cooks very often.edited cuz I put FH and thats wrong now

Question about P90X, is it a safe workout for someone with bad knees? I can't run anymore due to knee issues so I'm looking for as much variety in my workout as I can now.

It should be fine, although one day is some pretty heavy plyometrics, so you might want to substitute that day for another workout. You may also want to skip the squats. But there's YogaX in there that will be good for your knees!
