Picking pictures for albums

I just started going through my proofs to pick out pics for the albums and everything and omg it's so hard... Out of 1200 pictures how do I choose?? I'm going to have to go through several phases of eliminating pics!

Re: Picking pictures for albums

My sister came to my house and helped me go through all of them and sort them out. I now have them all in a shoebox in envelopes. Some of the envelopes labeled, getting ready, just me, just FH, family shots, bridesmaids, groomsmen, FH and I, FH and I at church, dancing shots, cake shots, dance with parents, etc. Then I plan to go through and pick from there. HTH!

Re: Picking pictures for albums

ugh it took me like 10 months. I finally jsut ordered it, I could only pick like 70 pics out of 1500+. Now I keep wishing I picked different ones. I just stopped looking until I get it. Lol. I figure I can always stick others in frames around the house.

Re: Picking pictures for albums

I laugh at myself b/c this was litterally the process so far. DH & I sat and put ALL the pics on our floors spread out all over the apartment----narrowed down our choices----and picked. That was back in Nov Dec of 2009. Then my photog said not to mail them till Jan b/c everyone was going on holiday vacations.

So then I went back and looked again and started finding new ones I liked and disliked.

I did this for 3 more months.

that brings us to April of 2010. I thought I finally had the album pics ready.

and then my mom came over and she started showing me ones that she liked over ones we had picked so I kept changing it.

I FINALLY made our photog a CD in July of 2010

I mailed it out on our 1 yr anniversary Aug 1st.

and I wrote the wrong address so it got sent back to me

So I have to remail it and I'm TRYING really hard not to change anything else.

My albums don't want to get made.

Re: Picking pictures for albums

Sooo hard work. I was allowed 100 and had like 1000 pics to choose from.. At first went threw just looking.. Then I put together pairs of same pics that looked same just photogrpaher clicked away with and picked the ones I liked the best... Then I put together diff scenes..getting ready, bride fam, groom fammily, ceremony and such...from there I tried to narrow the best pics I liked from each grouopp.. After that I still had to many so one night 2 of my gfs came over and helped me pic with their opinions bc dh didn't give me great opinons...after that we cleared out floor and separted and double checked all the pics and see if I didn't want some more bc I still had a few to many..asking dh which one he liked better to help me choice..I ended up with a few more pick then allowed but will just pay extra bc I couldn't decide

Re: Picking pictures for albums

We just finished our album design yesterday......it was SO difficult. Out of 1300 pictures, I was supposed to have a 70 pic album and I walked in with 111 pics. Luckily 16 of those were background shots and apparently those don't count. So then it was down to 95. I was finally able to cut 6 more and narrow it down to 89 for a final number. The album designer at Proline was REALLY helpful though. Thank god, because I don't think we could've done it without her.

Good to know that the album designer at proline is good because I'll probably be walking in with 200 pics for a 70 pic album lol... I didn't know that the background shots didn't count! I thought they did! So that makes me feel a little better
