What's one thing you're scared of that people think you're nuts for?

Mine is lightning - I cringe and won't go out of the house if it's bad. I have a deal with my family and with DH now that if I get struck by lightning and die I get 'I told you so!' on my tombstone.

The ocean...

When I went away to camp people used to get stung my jellyfish and what not. It wasn't an all the time thing but it happened. Ever since then I just can't do too far into the water. PLUS, when I was really young my mom's friend took us to the beach. I went too far in and a wave took me under, every time I tried to stand up another one would knock me down. Eventually my mom's friend came and got me but it was SO scary. For those 2 reasons I never go back my waist when going in the water, even in the carribean.

Bees.

I'm terrified. When I was a kid, I was at my cousin's house for her birthday party. A wasp flew into her ear and got stuck there. STUCK there.

It was trying to get out and kept stinging her repeatedly in the process. Eventually, they had to go to the hospital and have doctors remove it and when they got it out, it stung one of the doctors!

I actually shivered while typing this is scares me so much.

Aliens.

It's a really intense phobia I have, and while the idea that there are other creatures in this universe fascinates me, it also freaks the living daylights out of me.

I've been known to be walking alone outside at night...and think about a random UFO sighting story, or about aliens...and RUN LIKE A MOFO to wherever I am heading...showing up sweaty and out of breath.

I hate driving....I'll do it but I don't like it at all. I think its scary because people drive like maniacs!

Bees - I am soooooo scared of bees. Just the look/sound/sight of them freaks me the hell out. I never go outside in the summer unless I have to because I am so scared of them. Blah! Just even thinking about them freaks me out.

Seagulls....I like the beach, but hate the seagulls. I developed this fear in college for some reason. I am really not a big fan of birds in general, but seagulls scare me especially if they are flying low.

When I was in high school a bee flew into my mouth during a tennis match and stung me repeatedly. I finally spit it out, but it was all mush. I still finished the tennis match though!!

Pidgeons .... When I walk in the city I'm on edge all the time when I have to walk past them...

Gnomes!!!

Can't explain it...they just freak me out!! I guess cause they're lawn ornaments, but almost life-like. I don't know but they freak me out and I REFUSE to sleep ANYWHERE that there is a gnome in sight (of course with very rational reasoning that they might leave the neighbor's yard and stab me in my sleep)!!!!!
