*QOTD: Sunday 10/17 *

Today's QOTD is a two parter steming from something that happened to me yesterday.

Yesterday afternoon I was at the bank. While I was at the teller depositing my money a woman came up to me (older than me, maybe in her late 40's) and said 'I'm really sorry but I had to tell you. You have toilet paper sticking out of your pants.' Sure enough, I had a toilet paper tail! I pulled it out right away (it was pretty decent size!). Thankfully, I'm the type of person who could joke about it and laugh it off (altough I even did admit to the teller 'Wow- this is sort of embarrassing'). Right before I left I went over to thank the lady profusely and let her know she saved me from humiliation in Stop & Shop (my next stop).

So here are my two questions-

1- If you saw someone like this in public (toilet paper tail, toilet paper on shoe, size sticker still on shirt, etc)- would you tell them?

2- What's your most embarrassing moment?

Re: *QOTD: Sunday 10/17 *

i'm glad someone was there to save you! for the most part, i'm the kind of person that would tell people immediately about these things. i know i've been uncomfortable in the past telling a few of my male students that their flies are unzipped (yes, this has happened way too many times). it's usually at 8am when i'm advising them, so i feel weird starting off an appointment they were already nervous about with that sort of news.

i know that i've been more embarrassed than this, but the same story always pops up in my head whenever i hear the 'most embarrassing moment' question. when i was in 11th grade, everyone had to take driver's ed with this awful awful teacher; he was actually later fired for coming to class drunk, so that explained a lot. in the meantime though, my friends and i were walking down a hallway when he came out of a classroom and started walking directly in front of us. we were all very mature at the time () and started making faces behind his back. i pretended to kick him from a distance...but my shoe fell off and it actually slammed his head from behind, and it surely revealed that he actually wore a toupee. i ran with only one shoe on down to my friend's car while one of my other friends got my shoe and apologized for me (while laughing hysterically).

Re: *QOTD: Sunday 10/17 *

that was very sweet of her to say something!

sometimes i say stuff sometimes i dont.
ive seen a few people recently with their shirts on inside out and didnt say anything.

not my most embarrassing but something that I just remembered...
dh and I went to hershey park. I like to be very prepared with a million things to do when we go away-this time I had written things on post it notes and had them with me in the car.
when we were walking into the park someone kept screaming something at me-i actually had no idea they were talking to me. they finally came up to me and told me I had a yellow note stuck to my butt.

Re: *QOTD: Sunday 10/17 *

OK I would definitely tell someone something liek that. I wouldnt let people walk around liek that at all. I feel bad for people who dont realize something so humiliating. Why should anyone go through a whole day of people starring but not telling.

One of my most embarrassing moments. I was running the boardwalk in usual fashion. I run at a pretty decent to fast pace. As i was running along, this group of smoking hot guys were walking toward me. So of course im running & just as im about to pass them i trip on one of the boards sticking up & totally fall pretty much head first into one of the guys who-ha. Yes whatta great day. My face was super red & i was so embarrassed. The guys were laughing their butts off all except the guy i went into. He was pretty much bent over in pain. I guess i caught his cha chas pretty good. Anyway that was horrible!

Re: *QOTD: Sunday 10/17 *

-i would def tell them! I would want someone to tell me when I had something not right

-my most embarrasing moment was one of the first times I met dh. The first 4 or 5 times I saw him before we exchanged phone numbers or hungout on our own i'd see and hangout with him at a local bar....well it was 4th of july weekend and i was going out with my friend but we stopped at this bar to drop off cigs to another friend and dh was hanging out there with my cousin and some friends well i went over to say hi and i was wearing a deep v tank top and the right side of my top had fallen so my entire right side of my bra was out in the open for all to see my friend never said a word, my cousin had to yell at me so i ran out of the bar humiliated and went to a diff bar to drink well we arent friends anymore

Re: *QOTD: Sunday 10/17 *

I think it would depend on the level of embarrassment and if I thought the person would notice eventually. If it was me, I would be so embarrassed and I like to live in a blissfully ignorant place so that I don't have to be embarrassed. But if it was super bad and I knew I might run into people I know, I'd want them to tell me, so I'd do the same for others.
