Mostly waldbaums in Westbury
We go to Stop n Shop in Hempstead for meat though.. they have what we want.

For our specialty foods we go to V&T Supermarket in Hempstead because they have a GREAT seafood area and lots of great ethic veggies. (asian) and at least an attempt at Hispanic products. Mostly we just like the Chinese stuff there.

in NY we used Waldbaums...for convenience...3 close by..

here in CA...i was about to go crazy...the grocery workers have been on strike for over a month!!!

and as a union member...i will never cross a picket line...no matter what...

so i have been venturing into the health food stores and small graceries...and I LOVE IT!!! The produce and meat is fresher...and usually a bit less expensive!!!

there are some things that I need a chain super market for...but I have been doing very well without them for the last month...

I prefer King Kullen, especially for meat...they havea WAY better selection than stop & shop by me. Also, they have some great deals in their flyers like free stuff and gift certificates, they too do double coupons!

Also, if you go to www.pathmark.com

everyweek they have two ONE CENT coupons
sometimes they have dumb things and sometimes it is good for e.g.
one breyers yogart for one penny or a loaf of bread....

also, I have been finding that I like Stop n shop meats/chicken better than waldbaums.....

Shamma you can always donate your turkey. There is an organization called 'Boxes of Love' in Queens and they send thanksgiving meals to homeless or poor families. FM me if you want more info.

I am partial to Waldbaums/A&P because DH is a buyer for them and we get 10% off everytime we shop..
but i do like shoprite becuase they offer some really good deals...

We like Stop & Shop too. There are a million supermarkets near us, but this one is closest. I love that they double coupons up to $1.00 - I've gotten a ton of stuff for free! I have a 10% coupon instead of a free turkey.

Shamma - you can even donate your turkey to your nearest church. Many churches do Thanksgiving baskets for families in need, and welcome all the turkeys they can get! I used to work in a church and we'd have freezers full of turkeys at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Fairway, without a doubt! But it's far from my home, so I only go after work once in a while. I wish it was closer! Generally I shop at King Kullen on Jericho Tpke and Whole Foods in Manhasset.

I actually LOVE food shopping. It relaxes me

I look forward to my bi-weekly trips to the supermarket!!

I like Wladbaums. I'm so used to going there cuz it's so close to me, but I find their meat can sometimes be expensive. Where does everyone find the best deals on meat?
