i really think it depends on the location.

but generally, i think you could prob haggle a bit and get the price down even more (or get more thrown in). especially since it's a friday.

I agree - many places include the cake in the price or at least tell you which bakery they use so you can upgrade or design it as you see fit.

Also the 4 of 5 hours open bar had me a little

I think that's a bit high, especially for upstate. I had WAY more and it was a Saturday night and on Long Island where the prices are generally higher. Tell her to try and get the price down and tell her to look other places.

I also agree, if it's one wedding at a time then the price is higher but for a Friday night the price should be a little longer. Also, is this THE place that she absolutely loves and is perfect. Is it like the 'upstate Oheka castle'? That would also make a difference in the price.

For upstate that is way too high, especially for only 2 entree choices, a time limit on the open bar and no cake.

ETA: It is also a very limited cocktail hour.
