RIP Fonzi. <3

Most of you probably remember me posting about our family dog, Fonzi. Well, Fonzi took a drastic turn for the worse last night... again. He couldn't stand, couldn't lift his head, couldn't eat or drink, just laid on the floor and cried. My mom knew it was time for him. They took him to the emergency vet last night around 3 AM and were told there was nothing more they could do for him and they put him to sleep. But at least he's not suffering anymore. This is their 2nd dog this year that has passed. The hardest part is he was only 8 years old. My whole family is devastated, but especially my mother and father. Please keep them in your prayers.

man Jill, I am so sorry! I know how hard this is but he is better off if he was suffering. Regardless though, it's such a hard decision to make. It's a part of your family and it heart breaking.

Thanks everyone. It was just so sudden. We found the lump on his stomach and it was just one issue after another at that point. We know it was the right choice to make, we held on for as long as we could hoping he'd recover and he got better for awhile and then last night was just the worst.

It's so hard. He was part of the family. He's the reason my parents got their other dog, Rascal, another collie.

i know what you mean - it's so sudden! we took our dog to the vet bc he hadn't been eating that much and they told us he might have lung cancer but we didn't believe them bc he wasn't eating, not breathing strange or anything, and a month later he died.

i'm so so so sorry!

Seriously! It started with a hernia. We thought 'Oh well, he'll have the surgery and he'll be fine.' And here we are.
