so DH just called...

his car got towed

he parks on the street in the city but he drives out to LI for work every day. So this morning when he went out his car was gone...found out it was towed. He wasn't parked illegally so the only other explanation is that he had an outstanding parking ticket or something. I feel bad for him bc he can't get to work and now has to go all the way to brooklyn to get his car...but its just annoying bc we sooo don't need to be spending the money now on towing fees/etc. Ughh...men!

ughhh. that happened to me once. said i was parked illegally - but i wasnt!! i took pictures of the street signs, drew a diagram, everything!! ...they didnt care! i still had to pay

This reminds me of a night when DH & I went into the city with my mom. So we parked the car and went to a place on Elizabeth St all the way downtown. Then we ended up at Balthazar and my mom started to get tired so I told her we would cab it home and Dh could stay out with his friends. At first he said no but I told him it really wasn't an issue so he agreed. So I go home w/ my mom and 3 hrs later I get a phone call that his car 'is stolen' and he is in the back of a police car b/c they are helping him find it. (only my DH...LOL) They said 'It wasn't towed b/c it wasn't in the system' and he was parked totally legal. We report the car stolen.

Anyway to make a long story short......they were going to do construction on that block starting on that monday and someone towed DH's car....get this


TO ANOTHER RANDOM STREET IN NYC.


I guess we were kind of lucky b/c we didn't have to pay a tow facility but the car was parked legally.

We were told after that the car wasn't registered as towed b/c someone just moved it b/c some lame-o didn't put up the 'there is going to be construction here' signs so to clean it up their own stupidity, they just put the signs up after we parked there and moved DH's car.


It was a nightmare, but we got everything resolved.

Sorry about your 300 bucks, or at least that's how much it is every time DH is towed!
