Soo I just flipped at work.
I can't take it anymore. I hate getting shitt on here every single day. I'm so sick of everyone assuming I'll be the one to come in early, stay late, cut my lunch short, cover everyone's breaks, etc. I'm done with it. I told them all that I would be leaving early tomorrow in anticipation of my vacation next week and they just tried to d!ck me out of it again. I just couldn't take it anymore and I'm PMSing so I broke down and cried. All I said was 'I never ask any of you to do anything for me, I bend over backwards for all of you.... and this is what I get?' I can't stand these people anymore!!

have you tried having a serious talk with your boss about how you are feeling? Maybe he doesnt even realize how people are treating you.

Unfortunately it's a brand new boss and she's half the problem.

I just need to stand up for myself more when it comes to work but everytime I do it comes off as b!tchy. At least that's what my co-worker told me.
Gee thanks. I don't intend it that way.

Ugh, I am sorry Jill! You really just have to start telling people no. I am like you when it comes to people taking advantage but you get to a point where its enough. It would be one thing if they helped you back in return but since they don't, I say F it!

who cares whether they think you're blitchy? at least then they wont mess with you. i was really nice when i first started this job. all i got was walked over. now i dont let anything roll down my back and people dont mess with me. i know it sounds ridiculous, but its true. some ppl think im a beech and the ones who really know me, understand why i do it and know who i really am. and they love me anyway. That's what I said to my co-worker. She said 'Well you never ask for help.' But my thing is, we're friends, we've hung out outside of work, you came to my wedding (effed up my seating charts, but that's another story), you know I've been having a really hard time lately, wouldn't you WANT to help me? Wouldn't you see how lopsided this arrangement is? I always go out of my way to offer help and I guess it's my fault for just expecting people to do the same. I told her not anymore, everything is going to be done equally. I'm sick of it.

You're right. It's just hard for me because we were always friends outside of work and now after the past few months I'm seeing that maybe we're not as good of friends as I thought.

Yep. Unfortunately you can't expect people to act as you do because it kind of sets yourself up for disappointment most of the time. Look at it this way, you know who your true friends are and she is obviously not one. If she was, she would offer as you would for her. As the other girls stated, who cares at this point, be the b!tch at work and start worrying about you! I know it's hard but really try because then they will see how bad it sux!

I know, it's true. It's hard for me, too, because I work with my MIL and if I'm the office b!tch she's the office gossip wh0re!
So everything always gets back to her and she has to say something to me and....I just need a new job. A much more fulfilling one!
But thank you all, I really appreciate your advice and the hugs. I needed both. I'm really going to work on standing up for myself. It would be worthless to go find another new job and become the office doormat again. Thanks again everyone!

I'm so sorry Jill. I have lots of days like that too at my job ... maybe we work together and don't know it?
Hang in there ... that vacation is sooooo close! You clearly deserve it!

Did you hear some crazy woman sobbing? If so, that was me! That's been my mantra all week '1 more day, 1 more day, 1 more day'!
Edited for typos!

Re: Soo I just flipped at work.
Sorry you've had such a rough day. Start looking for a new job! Right now you have the luxury of looking when you're not desperate. You can take comfort in the fact that you are working on an out, but you don't have to take the worst job ever just to get a paycheck.
