spin off to disney post

okay...you got me thinking

ive been wanting to plan a wknd to disney in january. but im debating on whether to stay in a disney hotel, or save some money and stay in a non-disney hotel that offers free shuttles to the park

can anyone recommend some of the non-disney hotels that do free shuttles?

i saw some really good deals online, but idk the places....

Re: spin off to disney post

I've never stayed offsite before (except when I was like 4 years old lol). BUT I can totally recommend the Disney Value Resorts. We like All Star Music, we find it has the least crowded bus stops and best buses. POP Century is super duper fun theming and a great food court. They are on average $89 a night depending on if it's off season or not. I always love to be immersed in the Disney Magic!!!

I've only stayed off site. We stayed once in Kississmee (i think that's how it spelled) at a hotel with a free shuttle right next to Old Town. Honestly, it was well worth saving the money! Although I hear Disney Resorts are amazing.

When we went years ago, we also stayed in Kissimmee. It was a Radisson. Beautiful hotel, MUCH cheaper than Disney resorts, and they had the free shuttle. And it was right down the block from a 24-hour IHOP......DH would go and get us pancakes for breakfast every morning

Re: spin off to disney post

My aunt and I went for a weekend once around New Year's 2002 and we stayed in a satellite resort right next to downtown disney and it was fine. Totally nothing special like when you stay on property, but for one night it worked for us. I don't remember how much it cost or which hotel it was, though, so I'm not much help... I don't think they had a shuttle to the park, either, but it was walking distance to downtown disney and I think you could take the buses from there for free with your admission pass to the park.
