Would you have a problem naming one of your children the same name as one of your or DH's ex's??

Generally, I say I would have a problem with this. I'm not really into bringing the past into the present. However, DH dated a girl named Kasey - and I LOVE Casey for a boy

He says boy or girl, it'll never happen, and I can respect that. Plenty of other names to choose from

What about everyone else? What do you think?

I can't see naming any of the boys one of my ex's names. It's too weird for me...especially those names that have extreme negative feelings attached to them.

DH didn't seriously date a lot of girls...but there's only one that I can think of and I wouldn't want to name my daughter that anyways.

I'm still stuck on my girls name anyways...nothing's peaked my interest so far. Good thing we have time to wait!

i had answered t his on the 2011 boards but here i go again

DH never dated anyone really seriously before me, and i know what their names were and i don't like any of them anyway - so we're ok there!

I would never name any of my boys, if i were to have them, one of my ex's names because of all the negative feelings that i would associate with it and there are so many other names to choose from. but,. DH never actually told me that i couldn't name them after on of my ex's...but i would just never do so anyway

Dh never dated anyone before me. Me on the other hand, wouldn't name my kid after one of my ex's, or names of people I despised. LOL.

DH only had 1 serious relationship before me and we wouldn't use that name anyway. I don't know others that he dated here or there and I honestly don't want to know.

I never really thought about this. I guess we actually are using my exes names but I don't hate any of them and it's just the common names. PLUS, DH doesn't want to have another Frank (his dad is also a Frank) so we're going to use his middle name, which is also my dad's name (he doesn't have any girls so he LOVES the idea), and the middle name of the other boys name we like is Michael and I just always likes that name. With such common names it's hard not to pick them.
