Talking about name changing....

I am now getting around to getting my name changed at the SS Dept.

Has anyone gone to the office in Mineola? and how long did it take to get it done?

Also any helpful tips would be great!!

I went to the office in Mineola..it wasn't crowded at all...I still had to wait about 20 mins. once they helped me it took about 5 mins. I also went at lunch hour (12:30) so it may have been more crowded then.

Umm i went to Freeport. It was very quick and simple. I printed out and filled out the form before hand. If you dont do that, they will give it to you there. Bring your marriage license. I forgot my old ss card, but it was fine. Very simppleee!

i went to freeport and waited an hour, i got there around 9:30am on a Friday morning. i don't know maybe its just the time of day that you go that depends on how long you wait

I went to the office in Jamaica, first thing and it took me less than 10 minutes. My card arrived in 5 business days. I was lucky enough to have the same luck @ DMV. Would have done it sooner had I known! Now just to deal with everything else.
