theme help!

I'm being active today apparently...

So I'm throwing my Godmother's 50th birthday party! (Yay). We're having it in the backyard in August and I want to come up with a theme. Easiest theme is Luau but I feel like it's been done. Anything else we can do for a fun summer party?

Why not a 60's party? Or even a 1961 party? You can play all music from 1961, look into what movies and tv shows were hot then and decorate accordingly and maybe find out if there was anything she LOVED as a kid and use that as a centerpiece for her table.

I love with this idea (just need to find someone to throw a party for)!!! The Beach Boys totally makes me think of the 60's and fits in with summer too
