theory on being b*tchy...

so here's my theory (a two parter)...

part one: when you're a nice person - all the time - and one day you're just NOT in the mood, and you act cold and b*tchy, suddenly people are like, 'what's your problem? is everything ok? you don't seem like yourself!! something must be up because you're always in a good mood and now you have this wicked attitude.'

ummmm NO SHlT i don't seem like myself. i'm in a pisss poor mood, so leave me alone!

part two: when you're b*tchy - ALL THE TIME - and rarely nice, people just accept it!! it's like, 'oh, that's 'so-and-so'... she's kind of b*tchy, but once you get to know her she's ok.'


how is this acceptable? am i think only one who feels this way? i feel like i get the shaft because generally speaking i'm a nice person! i'm friendly, personable, agreeable... all in all, i'm a good person to get along with. but god forbid i'm feeling a little stressed out and would prefer NOT to have people crawling up my asss, now I'M the one that people get their panties in a bunch about!

in any case, i'm having one of those days....

I understand this totally. I've always been pretty passive in person and keep chipper, it's just easier than dealing with drama. If someone is being b*tchy, I leave them alone; I don't question. If they wanna talk to me about anything, they will. I don't push people's buttons.

But sometimes I cannot be passive because I'm just having one of those days, and all of a sudden it's pointed out and MY buttons will get pushed. I friggan hate. And, I hate it the most when it's pointed out by the person whose ONE TO TALK! GRR!

I always feel like I back off people but it can't be done vice versa. I don't get it either.

It's true. And I can't stand that people can visibly see that you're annoyed or upset and still have to make a comment. Isn't a person entitled to a bad day once in awhile?!

There was a woman who handed out the AM NY everyday at the Lexington & 53rd St. station. She was LOUD and obnoxious in that everyday she'd pick people out of the crowd and target them and say things like 'There's no reason to frown! It's a beautiful day! You're alive! Smile!' I get that she was trying to send out a positive message (and perhaps I was PMSing, just like right now), but every time I saw her, I wanted to go over to her and smack the newspapers out of her hand. I try (keyword try) to live by the phrase 'Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.' You just never know what someone is going through and it really irks me when people can't just keep comments to themselves.

this happens to me all the friggin time. It's really annoying since if I don't seem chatty or smiley, there is a reason for it and your comments or 100 questions on 'what's wrong' doesn't help me.
