Waxing?

So I went yesterday to get my eyebrows done at my place in RVC. I made my next appointment for right before going to Italy. I made a bikini and eyebrow waxing. I decided against the leg wax because my hair doesn't really come in too fast in my legs (just everywhere else) and it's light (unlike everywhere else). BUT they asked if I wanted to do the underarm wax. I said no but I keep thinking that maybe I should. I'm going to have to bring razors to take care of my legs for when I do need to shave.

My question is...has anyone gotten underarm waxing? Is it worth it? How bad does it hurt? How long does it last?

TIA!

Re: Waxing?

I had my pits lasered a few times (not enough to really leave perma/lasting results...I started and then couldn't afford it after 4 sessions haha) but it wasn't an OVERLY sensitive area...I mean, it didn't feel awesome but it wasn't SOOOOOOOOO BAD....

The results lasted for a couple of months and it was an absolute PLEASURE not to have to shave. The skin was totally soft and bare...as though I'd never had hair there. Not sure how waxing will work out but if it is anything like laser I say go for it!!

How many times do you have to get lasered for it to be lasting?

Not sure - I could never really get a straight answer....but more than 4 for me at least.....I have really dark hair that is pretty coarse (under my arms at least). I have friends that have done 6-8 sessions plus occasional 'touch-ups'.....the results really are awesome...it is like baby skin. I would definitely suggest it to anyone who can afford it!

Re: Waxing?

ive done waxing for underarm. its hurts a bit. but its worth it! no 5 0'clock shadow!!!

i do this for special events and trips....but the worst part is LETTING IT GROW!! it needs to be enough hair for the wax to grab on to, ya kno

i had / have my armpits lasered ... it's still not 100% hair-free, but there's not enough for me to worry about ever shaving them again.

I have to say that it WAS painful for me ... not intolerable, but definitely uncomfortable.

Oh, and it took A LOOOOOT of sessions ... i think i had about 15 sessions (i never actually counted)

i love not having to worry about shaving though ... plus, you never see the black ingrown hairs or 'hair dots' under the skin which used to drive me crazy

Re: Waxing?

I got my underarms waxed and wasn't so impressed w/ the results and how long it lasted. I just prefer shaving them.

Re: Waxing?

I forgot about letting them grow out. That's so insane! I don't think I'm going to do it. I can go about 3-4 days without shaving there so maybe it's not worth it with growing it out. It's going to be bad enough I am going to have to grow my bikini out (I'm SUPER OCD about that)!

Thanks for the input girls! I think in the winter months maybe I'll start the lazer for the underarms though. My friend did it and LOVES it!
