You don't need your SS card as long as you have the number memorized to change your credit cards. Your number doesn't change (I thought this as first), just your name on the card. They did ask me my mother's maiden name as well when I changed over my credit cards.

Teri I went to the DMV on a night they had late hours...Port Jeff has Thursday night as their late night, till 7 so I finished everything then.

Yeah, the one near me is open til 6 PM Thurs, but I usually meet my friends for happy hr that night! LOL

ShellMarie: You posted that Social Security sends the license back to you. You mean they keep it for a while?Why can't they just look at it and give it back?

They only keep it if you mail in your license and request for a new card. If you go to SS, they do not keep the license (nor do they even make a copy of it!)
