i got some weird amounts also, $60, $180, $121 ( all from couples) and i have no idea where that amount came from!

Same here. Its really bizzare...I dont know where people get these amounts. I understand $50, $100 even $150 but not $121

Crashing...

you have to factor in what your OOT guests spent to come to the wedding, as far as travel and accomodations. I dont expect much from people coming from OOT, they're already spending big bucks on flights and hotels.

Re: Wedding Gift Qstion- Regarding Cash Amounts

I think sometimes people just put whatever they have in their wallets at the time in the card. We got some really good ones to but some people have nothing at all which is absolutely wrong. If I didn't have money to give a gift I just wouldn't go but I wouldn't go to a wedding eat, drink, and party and not give a gift. That's just tacky, Rule of thumb is you give atleast what the price per plate is and you can usually guestimate that based on how nice the place their having their wedding is. I usually do $100-150 by myself or $200 to $300 for DH and I depending on if I know the place is really nice and expensive or if its not so nice.

Re: Wedding Gift Qstion- Regarding Cash Amounts

We received $200.02 from one couple. It made us laugh. Then from two of my husband's friends we received 180 and I thought that was weird and wondered why they didn't round it. Perhaps it was for good luck but neither of the people are Jewish and neither are we.

Re: Wedding Gift Qstion- Regarding Cash Amounts

I did factor in where OOT guests were coming from and how much it cost.. but the one that gave us the $36 only had a 30 minute car ride to the venue!

I'm not complaining but still it made me go
