OMG I just saw ur FB pics! That is CRAZY. I went into work at 3:30 and finished at 8 and my dad called and was like WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? and I was like 'work' and he was all 'There was a BIG storm, I thought you were hurt!' My poor daddy, all worried and I didn't even KNOW there was a storm going on.and 1010 WINS reported 1 persn died on the Grand Central Pkwy in Queens I think.

Re: what a night!!!!!
John has been stuck in Middle Village for hours now. He can't get out of Middle Village.I had an intersting walk home in flip flops. I had to stand under an awning while the worst of it was going on. Trees flying down, windows blown out... you name it!
it was intense. i've never seen anything like it before.
the windows to the bank my mother works at were blown out.
it's crazy.
so far i only heard one woman died because a tree fell on her car. but i'm sure there are more injuries. there have been sirens going on for hours now.
john also left all the apartment windows open... so that was fun to come home to. mud and water everywhere. my rug was saturated with rain, the chair, tables, photo albums, etc. what a mess!!

i was fine bc i was home in our apt when it happened....but DH had to drive back from LI to NYC after the bulk of the storm passed and had a hard time bc so many trees were down and there were accidents and stuff.

Re: what a night!!!!!
For the Middle Village girls. It took my husband 40 minutes to get from 69th and Eliot to 80th and Metropolitan. It was insane!I live on the old side so we don't have as many trees, so not a lot of damage.
For me the storm was totally unexpected and I thought I closed all the windows until I heard water pouring in. It was in my husband's office, while he wasn't home, like someone was pouring a bucket of water in there. I couldn't see and my pregnant a$$ can't climb like I used to so I ripped the blinds off the wall and closed the top of the window (he opens the top because of the ac in the window.)
He poor desk with all of his clients papers all water stained. He was lucky that his computer wasn't destroyed!

Glad to hear you're ok! I've been hearing about this tornado and wondering if everyone on here was alright. Very scary considering this is something that normally happens in a place like Kansas. What is the world coming to?!
