what to do, what to do ...

DH went to the store to buy a birthday present for his nephew (who's turning 3). He came home with the Let's Rock Elmo ... i thought they were sold out everywhere so i was shocked he was able to find it.

the thing is - this kid LOVES elmo ... so what are the chances that he doesn't already have this toy? i don't want to give him something he already has (and his parents are obnoxious so i'd like to avoid blatantly asking them)


ETA: i don't want to ask the parents because i'm afraid they'll say 'he already has that, go buy him ___ instead' and then we'll have a big project of finding and buying whatever (probably expensive) crap they asked for.

i suppose that's prob best ... i guess i got cheap about it and figured we spent good money on this thing ... and since the parents are annoying in every possible way, i hate for them to 'make' money on this toy.

that said, i do think you're right - that's prob easiest
