When to Deposit Wedding Gifts????

Are you supposed to wait to deposit the checks when we send out the thank you cards?

We won't have our photos for a couple of weeks and we want to order customized thank you cards...do we have to wait to deposit the checks?

I deposited the checks a few days after the wedding and I didnt send out ty cards until about 2 months later

We didn't. Our cards aren't ready yet and we deposited them before we left to the honeymoon.

my mom deposited the checks for us because we left for our HM the morning after the wedding.

Sent out my thank you's 3 months after the wedding

We deposited them the Monday after the wedding, before we left for our Honeymoon. We won't send thank yous till probably November!

We deposited them after we came back from our hm because we left right after the wedding. My thank yous just went out

we deposited everything the day after the wedding which was the day before we left on our honeymoon! Still haven't done thank yous, just got pro pics

I never heard anyone waiting to send TY cards before you deposit the money. I did 2 days later.

we did it after a week and a half or so??

I actually had someone ask me to deposit it since we took so long and they didnt want to spend the money.

no- deposit the checks! .. many people want you to cash them right away so their check books are balanced correctly- it is known (especially in NY that it will take 1-3 months to mail ou thtank yous

We deposited the checks the day after the wedding since we were going on our honeymoon the day after that. Our thank you cards won't be sent out for another couple of weeks or so.

I haven't even chosen my photos for thank yous. We cashed the checks right after the wedding. I've always been told it's rude to hold checks because people want to balance their checkbooks, etc.

we knew we weren't going to get our proofs right away so my parents deposited it while we were on our HM. deposit them right away!!! you don't want somebody's check bouncing and then figuring out what to do w/ that bounced ck!!
