07.07.07 wedding review of Beach Club Estate, ADA studios, James Cress, IV Generation and more....

I know I don’t post much but I did want to put up a review because I know there are some Beach Club Estate brides on here and I know there isn’t much information for them in regards to the Beach Club Estate. Sorry in advance that this is long but I just wanted to be complete!

Let me just start off by saying when my husband and I looked at the Beach Club we feel in love with it right away and knew it was the perfect size and place for us. For some people it might not be the right place but for us it was. After we booked with them I signed up on LIWeddings and after reading reviews and comments I honestly got nervous as to if we picked the right place and location and it didn’t help that we live 700 miles away so I couldn’t just go for a drive and look again. But now that the day is done and over with let me just say I had nothing to worry about what so ever. My day was perfect! So now onto the vendor reviews:

Mother Nature: A
The weather was perfect in every day and made our outdoor ceremony next to the lake beautiful and made for an amazing cocktail hour. I worried forever thinking the weather wouldn’t be nice but it was great!

Marlene Cantalano (Hair): A++
This lady rocks! I ended up having two trials with her because I decided I didn’t want an updo after my first hair trail and decided I wanted it half up/ half down. I brought her a picture and she was able to recreate it but better. The day of my hair was amazing! The curls didn’t drop out or nothing. The best part was she came to the Islandia Marriott so we didn’t even have to leave the hotel. She did the whole bridal party and my mom so it made for 7 of us and everyone looked wonderful.

Patty Burgess (Make-Up): A++
Patty was amazing as well. Patty and Marlene both did the hair and makeup for my sister-in-laws wedding 2 years ago and I am so glad I went with them as well. Patty was wonderful. I explained to her that I really don’t wear any makeup and when I do it’s not much at all. She said no problem and made me look like me not someone different. Again she came right to the hotel as well and did the bridal party as well. We all looked wonderful!





Helen’s Bridal: A++
Liz at Helen’s Bridal was amazing. I went to Helen’s with my Mom and sister over a year before the wedding to start to look at ideas. It was the first day I went to look because I wanted my mom and sister to be there with me and we were all up in NY so we went together. I never imagined that I would have gotten my dress that day let alone it be the second dress I tried on. I had told Liz when I went in there I wasn’t sure of what type of dress but imagined it to be very simple and nothing fancy. Well when she told me to try on this dress I wasn’t too sure about it but when I put the dress on I feel in love with it. I loved how I looked, I loved how it looked different than any dress I imagined and I loved how my Mom and sister started crying when I showed them. I didn’t even want to take the dress off. What made Helen’s so amazing as they worked with us when fittings. When I was coming to NY I would call them and let them know and they made time for me to get a dress fitting. It was so cute when on the Tuesday before the wedding I went for the final fitting with my sister-in-law and everyone in the store kept asking where Mom was because she was there every time with me. Everyone was so kind and friendly!






Islandia Marriott: A+
Tarsha for the Marriott was wonderful. I worked with via e-mail and on the phone and every time I spoke with her she was great. We were able to book a block of rooms Friday and Saturday night and had no problems. She even gave Brad and I the discount rate for a regular room for the Bridal suite for both nights which was wonderful. The rehearsal dinner was also held at the Marriott because we had so many people coming in from out of town and they were staying there and that was nice as well. My FIL took care of that and there were no issues.

Mark of Elegance (Limo): A+
The limo company did exactly what they were suppose to. They were there early, helped with anything we needed before we got into the limo and they were very sweet and kind. The limos were clean. Highly recommend them!



IV Generation (MC/DJ): A+
Tony the MC and the DJ (I forgot his name) were excellent. They had the dance floor full all night. I gave them a list of a few songs we wanted played and told them to do what they wanted to do to make the party fun. They did a mix of everything and I think everyone was up at some point dancing. Tony was great also as to letting Brad and I know about any request they received to see if we were okay with the songs being played.





James Cress Florist: A++
All I can say is Mr. Cress is wonderful and a true artist! When I first meet with him with my mom he knew what I was thinking before I even told him. The day of the flowers were amazing. Exactly what I wanted minus the fact I didn’t think my Bo-K would be so heavy and big. Loved it!




ADA Photography/Video: A+++
So far so great! Thomas (aka Billy Joel) was amazing and wonderful as well as Jim the photojournalist. Tony the video guy and his assistant were great as well. When Thomas first arrived at the Marriott I told him my concerns about how I wanted the parent pictures and bridal pictures done right away so they could get to part of the cocktail hour. He said no problem and said that Brad and I would get to the cocktail hour as well. He was right. He moved quick which was what Brad and I liked and did what we asked as well. He would even show us every once in a while pictures that he thought were great. He was so easy to work with and had us smiling and laughing all night long. The video guys were amazing in the sense too that you didn’t even realize they were there. I can’t wait to get the video and album. There were over 900 proofs and there is a small sample in my album if you want to see.

And last but not least….
Beach Club Estate: A
Like I said earlier when Brad and I first looked at the BCE we feel in love with it and decided that was the place. Frank who we worked with was great. There are two Franks there and we worked with Frank A. I heard things about them being like used car sales man but he wasn’t what so ever. He was always nice to us and always called Brad and I his Bonnies couple since we went to the same college as his son did, St. Bonaventure. We really didn’t interact much with the BCE the months leading up to it besides payments and even then that wasn’t a big issue and it was pretty issue for us to mail and checks and they mailed the receipts back to us. About 6 weeks before Brad and I went for the final meeting. Since we were only visiting Memorial Day weekend Frank made time for us for the final meeting even though they normally don’t do that on the weekends. He was great about that. We were also able to bring in a picture of a cake we wanted and he said no problem and would have them recreate the cake for us as well for no additional charge even though it wasn’t their typical cake.
The week of the wedding my sister-in-law went with me to drop everything off and the meeting was quick and short. Every time we meet we had to go to Windows on the Lake, the sister site, which was fine with me. There were no problems there. Frank gave me is cell number that Tuesday before for like the 5th time and said again if we had an questions or concerns call him anytime.
The day of…
The day of the Beach Club came through a 150%! When I got to the BCE at 6 o’clock James Cress was finishing the flower set up and they were setting up the ceremony location. Every thing looked wonderful. I don’t remember the MD name but she is the only reason why the BCE doesn’t get an A+. She was not great at all and in fact kind of stupid. At the beginning of the reception we told the MD to make it a little cooler in the room as Brad and I were warm and she said okay. When we asked her a second time she finally figured out the problem that one of the doors going to outside was open and that was causing the room to get warm. Our bridal attendant on the other hand was wonderful. Jen was so sweet and kind and she told us right before our entrance into the reception that it was her first night as a BA and she did great. She would always come over to see how things were going and did her best to make us happy at all times. The only minor thing that happen was one of the glass containers for the unity candles broke and when the MD told me I said I don’t care we can just figure something out, it’s not a big deal. When Jen told me that she figured something out I simply told her I trust you and I am sure it looks great. Jen was amazing.
Overall the Beach Club was great. We have gotten so many comments from both sides of the families. Brad’s side who all came in from out of town thought it was greatest wedding ever because they have never seen a NY wedding before. My side thought it was wonderful as well and loved the location and we keep getting asked how and where did we find this place because no one had ever heard of it before. They thought it was a great place. The only complaint we have heard was there was way too much food and we didn’t even upgrade any of food options. Everyone loved the food and thought the day was great.

We absolutely loved our day and everything went perfect. We couldn’t have asked for anything better. All the other BCE brides out there you have nothing to worry about. Just enjoy your day! If you have any questions about anything just ask!
