11-10-07 Leonards of Great Neck

I dont really know where to begin.........I've read a few reviews and they were really organized, and full of every detail you could think of...........Im afraid mine wont be as detailed! :O(

I was on a tight budget and managed to plan a beautiful, wedding that didnt empty my bank account!!!
It can be done ladies, for anyone else looking to keep cost down!!!

Let me also tell you that I honestly dont remember much of the day! hahaha
I know thats sad to say, but you are so overwhelmed that your just kind of going with the flow.........to all brides 'REMEMBER TO RELAX......DONT STRESS!!!! ' ENjoy it and dont sweat the little things. Assign people to be in charge of the important things to you, this way you dont have to worry!!!

My wedding was Saturday November 10, 2007

NOt much more I could say about it, except it was perfect!


Hall - Leonards of Great Neck A
Reception 12-5 about 140 guest

When DH & I went looking & saw Leonards, we knew right away we wanted to have our wedding there. When you walk in the hall it just has that 'wow' factor and is just beautiful! We met with the BM Antonio and booked!!
He was very helpful and answered every questions, & concern.

Leonards offered us a lot with our package/price so the only thing we really needed to upgrade to was adding the carving station to our cocktail hr.
They had a a lot of other add ons, but we felt what we were getting already was enough. (and trying to keep cost down)

Even with the upgrade, we got such a great deal!

To this day people are still talking about how fantastic the food was at our cocktail hr. All of the dinners were super as well.
Leonards also did our cake for us, I gave them the flowers for decorating our cake and they did a great job! We went with the canoli filling and It was DELICIOUS!!! YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There were no complaints about anything, the place looked amazing, and was extremely organized with everything.
Our matradi and Bridal attendent were ok, they did there jobs but I really didnt see them too much once we were introduced and seated. The only problem I had with leonards was that my parents table was served their dinner last. I informed my matradi and it was taken care of right away. ASIDE from that Leonards gets an A!!!!

I know a lot people frown upon 'wedding centers' but seriously, I could not have done it without them!!! SO far, I have not had any problems.
The package we chose we did need to upgrade to fit our needs, but we also eliminated a few things that we didnt want or that we got from somewhere else.

I got pretty much everything through them though.
Invitations, DJ, Limo, Photographer, & Video.

B]Invitation - (through center)
The lady that helped me at the center was super nice and helpful. They had books & books to choose from, but we chose a classic card that already had our color scheme on it, and just upgraded a for the color of writing and the liner.
Invitations - A

They were on time, clean, fully stocked, and very respectful! No Problems!!! (they also were on track with time so we didnt get charged overtime!)

]Photographer A++ (through center)
I dont know the name of the company, but let me tell you..we upgraded to get the assistant and both men were fabulous!!! The main photographer Doug was amazing, he was great with the kids, and taking great photos. The lighting, he was fun and we felt very comfortable with him.
I missed out on a few pictures I wanted, but that my fault bc I didnt realize it until I got my proofs. Again, you have no idea whats going on the day of so leave someone in charge of things like that so you get everything you want!!!

Video (through center)
I spoke with a man to confirm everything and day of I had a lady, but there were no problems. I have not seen my video yet, so I cant really comment yet!

Flowers - A
(through center) I think its Jackies Florist in Maspeth
We actually went with silk flowers. I went to another wedding and loved the idea bc now I have my bouquet to save. We told them we wanted a fall color theme and they went with it. We did get to see sample centerpiece and loved it. At the wedding nobody knew that they were fake. When you mentioned it, people were surprised and had no idea!! Everyone was trying to get the centerpiece to take home.
I loved the centerpieces and all the bouquets.

So far I gave the center a B+ bc we are not done yet. We did a lot of upgrading bc we wanted to and bc we had to in order to get a few things that werent included with our package but in the long run, it was still cheaper then if we went with seperate vendors.

Favors A+
We had a fall theme wedding so we went with the leaf shaped bottles with maple syrup.
I believe it was Carmen Brook Farm in Vermont that I got them from, but I'll double check.
The lady I spoke with was so nice.
When I got the bottles, I bought some golden tulle & mini roses and ordered ribbons. I wrapped the bottles myself and put on the ribbon & glued the roses. They were so cute!!!! I also wrapped almonds in the same tulle and matched the ribbon.


B]Bridal Party gifts
For the men - we bought silver money clips & had them engraved with their initials - Things Remembered A+
For the girls - We bought them the pearl set jewelry (I think lovelys jewelry) they wore that day and pashmenas (Peach couture - I think) A+
for the kids - We just gave gift cards for the ring bearors (they love g.c)
flower girl - We bought her a toy

Our parents - We bought Photo albums and had them engraved from personalized mall.com, but now I am not a fan of this website. FOr the parent gifts I will give them an A, but I recently had issues with this website.

B]Honeymoon A
Sandals Royal Bohemian Spa & offshore Resort.
All Inclusive. (Bahamas)
Gran Manor Luxe Patio Suite.
We flew out of JFK Mon 11-12 and came home Fri 11-16. It was only 4 nights and tech 3 1/2 days.
My DH is not much of a traveler so I was lucky to ge that out of him!!!
We had a great time though, the weather was about 83 day and 72 night. All the resturants were good, we pretty much ate, relaxed and waited to eat again!!!!!!! hahah The service was great and the resort was beautiful. I have to add honeymoon pics, but it was a nice relaxing, honeymoon.
Just what we needed after all the wedding prep!
