This is my first and only post but I felt the need to write a review because this website was so helpful as I was planning my wedding.

I am originally from Queens, NY but I currently live in MD. I moved to MD after graduating from college. I can tell you planning a wedding from a distant is very stressful. Email became my best friend during this process. We got engaged on June 29, 2013 and booked majority of our vendors by November. I traveled home once in July, Sept, Feb, April, and June. I'm Haitian and my husband is African American.

Woodbury Country Club: THE BEST!!!!! I WISH I COULD DO IT AGAIN!!!!

We worked with Carolyn Balfour. She was so helpful and responsive during the process. I would plan my wedding over again just to work with her. She worked with my schedule in planning the wedding to ensure everything was up to my standards and more. She made sure to incorporate all of our ideas and made our night special. Carolyn even threw in small birthday cake to help celebrate my godson's birthday which happens to be our wedding day. We had the garden room with the outdoor cocktail hour area. My Maître'd was Ryan and Bridal attendant Franca (I’m not too sure if I spelled that right). Ryan/Franca made sure everything flowed and we had enough drinks during the night.

Lancelot limousines:
Rob was AWESOME. I never had a chance to see the cars in person so I booked everything based on the pictures on their website. The best advice someone ever gave me in planning my wedding was to lie on our wedding invitations. The ceremony started at 4:30 pm but I told everyone 4 because of rush hour traffic on a Friday our time was limited. The ceremony was at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Queens Village, NY. We had the Bentley and the party bus. On the party bus I had my makeup artist, our parents, 16 members of our bridal party and few other really close family members and friends. Everyone said the ride was great and the party bus was really nice. The bus was fully stocked with drinks and the drivers got us to our destinations safe and sound and on-time. The price was RIGHT!!!!

We're currently waiting on our photographers to edit our wedding pictures but I can update this review later. The link to our trailer is below. They did take our engagement photos. They did a really good job. The price was right and the ability to work with my schedule as I live out of state was great. It's not your traditional photography studio. This is what I liked the most.

Designs by Rose:
Rose was awesome. She really worked with our budget in terms of finding the right type of flowers for our wedding. I wanted to keep things pretty simple. Our wedding colors were yellow/gray. We decided on high and low centerpieces with white hydrangea and yellow sweetheart roses.







Pulse Sounds/DJ Ricky Bonds(IG:@rickybonds): I found Ricky on Instagram. He was on time and kept everyone on the dance floor. He played Haitian music, reggae, bachata, hip hop, go go music ( my husband's family is from dc) and soca. I sent him a few pictures of our entire bridal party and he created a slideshow that was displayed during the reception. He provided the Gobo and the up lighting for the reception. Here are few pictures of everyone partying.

Reginald Raphael: (IG: @facesrmycanvas) I found Reginald on Instagram and his work speaks for itself. I loved my makeup. It wasn't too much but it was just right. One thing that was important to me was choosing a makeup artist that was professional and could provide services to women of all ages. On the day of the wedding he did 8 bridesmaids, 2 mothers and myself. He stayed with me the entire day to make sure to do any touch ups needed after the ceremony and reception.





Modern Day Affair: Shauna/Michelle

I would advise anyone who decides to plan their wedding themselves to get a day of coordinator. It really was a stress reliever to know that someone else has all control on how everything should be so you can enjoy your big day. Shauna and I communicated by email/FaceTime 2 times. She pretty much made sure everything ran smoothly and what I was planning for months came together on our special day. Here are few pictures of Shauna and Michelle helping us our special day.





Vendor: (@royalcremas) Ralph Thomas: I found Ralph on Instagram as well. I decided for our favors I would give out 'cremas' bottles. It's a Haitian drink which pretty much is like eggnog except it has rum in it. Ralph designed a special label with our wedding colors/names and dates for the wedding. He was easy to work with and provided us with a sample before we decided to purchase. Our guests loved them. My grandfather even asked for more. Lol!

Also, I love Etsy!!!! I realized in planning a wedding once you say you need it for a wedding things things can get extremely expensive and since I'm not very crafty Esty was a life saver. I was able to get the things I wanted without it being really expensive. Here are a few vendors I worked with from Etsy.

Vendor: Invitationsbyemily: Emily created our wedding invitations, place cards, menu cards, table numbers and programs. She was affordable, provided quality products and she easy to work with in designing a product and sending samples. She was really responsive when I contacted her no matter what time of day. I knew if I sent an email at midnight I would receive a response by the next day!.

I ordered personalized shirts for my ring bearer and flower girls. The shirts were true to size and material was soft. Also, the shirts wash well in the washing machine.

I ordered personalized cuff links and bouquet charm for the groom and myself in remembrance of his cousin and my grandmother.
