This is very long and i hope its informative for all the future brides!!

Thank you to all the girls that helped make our day perfect! It was very had for us to plan being in FL so this site was a life saver for us and our wedding would not have been the same without everyone! xoxox I will leave it at that and happy reading!! :)


Wingate Inn Brentwood-F- Hotel Block and Wedding Night

Where oh where do I begin with this hotel It was the closest one that we could find with the best price to where we needed to be. We must have gone through about 3 different sales managers during our planning. I think I called 5 times because they had my name spelt wrong. I would get calls from my guests that there were no rooms avail all the time and I would call the hotel and like magic they had rooms. So I would have to call the guests back and have them call the hotel back. It was not fun. So 4 days before the wedding one of my girlfriends decided to drive in and needed a room. Same thing happened as before where I had to call. I figured I would have them check on our reservations. Good thin I did. My SIL was booked for her room 4 days AFTER my wedding, my DH had no room reserved for him and one of the other guests room was canceled I spent over and hour on the phone with them trying to figure it all out. The man who I spoke to was not very warm at all. So I called back about 40 min later when I found out about the other guests room being canceled and was like what is going on ? After it was figured out by the same man who was VERY rude this time, he told me that “I better have a talk with my guests because they are all screwing with the hotel” I was like “excuse you, who do you think you are ” He told me that he was done listening to me and hung up. I screamed so loud my mom came running. DH went down the next am with ALL of the GM to take care of the situation. Everything went smoothly with the sales lady and she apologized and took some money off our rooms.

We check in on Friday, my mom goes to take a bath in the jet tub, only to find it is FILTHY Dirt and hair in it She had to get cleaner and clean the tub. After that she filled it up and got in only to find out it DIDNT WORK I called the front desk and was like this is ridiculous She said she would have someone fix it tomorrow. The boys went down to play poker and come to find out that one of our guests had a case of empty beer in their room when they got there I was so embarrassed Sat morning things ran smooth. We put the do not disturb sign on the door before we left. When we came back for the night, we come to find out that our room had been cleaned They threw out a bunch of things that werent supposed to be thrown out and moved things all over we couldnt find ANYTHING

We checked out and I figured it was all over....WRONG I had two charges on my card one for the suite and one for another room. They attached my CC to one of my guests rooms So it has come to the point that we are talking to corporate about everything. They offered us free nights but honestly, you coudnt pay me to stay there again. So they are refunding a night for us but that doenst even come close to fixing the horrible experience we had. You would figure the hotel would be the least of your worries when planning a wedding

RSVP Tuxedo-A

We didn’t look around when it came to tuxedos for the guys. We wanted something local and RSVP is right down the road from my mom’s. We worked with ChooChoo and he was a doll. We had picked out different colors at first for the wedding but couldnt find anything that matched as far as tuxedos went. We ended up finding something that was perfect once we changed the colors and im soooo happy we did! Everything was right when the guys picked them up and DH got his tux for free! :)






Regal Limos- A

We booked regal at the last LIW wedding show and got a wonderful deal on two 10 pass limos. We didnt need anything crazy just something to get us from one place to the other. They showed up early and the guys took the first limo to the vanderbilt, I cant remember the drivers names because im horrible like that Our driver was awsome Very helpful and nice. The boys limo driver pulled a bunch of illegal manuvers and got them lost. The A/C also didnt work in their limo. My mom went with them after the church and he pulled away so fast one of the GM fell on the floor My mom was not happy when we got to the RH. So I guess we had one good and one bad. But they werent late so that made me happy. The limos were clean and well stocked.





Lovin Oven Floral-A

We didn't look at any other florists since my mom has been planning my flowers since I was a fetus She works for Lovin Oven Florist part time when she isn't teaching and Keyth has been a family friend for years. We met with him and thought it would be a quick meeting since we both know a lot about flowers....we were there for over and hour and couldn't make up our minds We finally picked everything out and finalized everything. I got to see a sample 2 days before the wedding when they were putting them all together. They were perfect

The day of the wedding came and I didn't know what time our flowers were supposed to get there. It said 8am on the contract and my mom tried to call because we really needed them sooner. They showed up at a little after 8 ,the personal flowers were nice but not exactly as I had anticipated..there was a mis- communication and the guys flowers were not delivered to the hotel so no flowers in our pro pic before the ceremony. My bo-k was very nice but I guess due to the heat, it browned a bit faster then I thought I would. One thing that made me very sad was that I requested a single red rose to carry down the isle with my mom to place at my grandma’s seat...they made her a corsage instead.

The church flowers, centerpieces and cake flowers were OUTSTANDING. All in all ,they looked AMAZING There were just a few things that I was a bit disappointed in and didn't expect to go wrong but everyone commented on how wonderful they were and you wouldn't have known anything was not exactly as expected if I didn't tell you. I still HIGHLY recommend them as they were BEAUTIFUL and looked great in the ballroom at the Venetian












Silverfox -Video- A before, A- Day of, B raw footage

Before-They were great to work with, understood that this was a want and not a need and that we didnt want top of the line, and they didnt try to sell us that. They worked with our budget and got us a package that met all of our needs. We decided to get the raw footage with edit at a later date, since I got the video and mom didnt have to pawn off a leg, we were both happy with it.

Day of-Ron showed up at around 6:10 am to the hotel. We were still getting ready for hair and makeup but he just hung out a bit until we were ready. He stayed out of the way for the girls and really went unnoticed. He worked well with the photographers at the Vanderbilt and I think he got everything. He did get lost on the way to the church and we started late because I didnt want to start without him. We were about 15 min late. My Mom sang a song for us at the ceremony and the Guests were saying he didnt video her at all, but I wont know until I see the video, if he didnt I will be soooo upset He was great at VYC, didnt really see him or was in the way.

Raw Footage- I am a little disapointed that is kinda short. There is no shot of DH seeing me walk down the isle. I told him that my mom was going to be singing durring our sand ceremony. When we finished pouring the sand, he just taped the back of our heads!!! didnt even turn to see her once!!!! durring BM speeches, you cant even see him! He is standing infront with the light in the back, his face is all blacked out....very upsetting.



Thomas Paul Photography- A++

I first found Thomas Paul on LIW while looking though the brides review. I stubbled across Taryn’s review (jtgarsik) and was blown away I called him and set up a meeting with him for the next time we would be in NY. By the time we got to NY, he had been booked for the day but told us that we would have Brian and David as our Photogs. We were a bit bummed but LOVED their work none the less and booked. Tom made us feel so comfortable, gave us the most for our money and had beautiful work I knew when DH was excited about him, he was the right choice. Tom had called and said that he had let David go and we would have another photographer for the day. We had no doubts in anything and told him that was fine.

Our E shoot was hysterical. Since we arent in NY we didnt have much of a choice when it came to time of year. We came up around April and it was the coldest weekend of the month It was about 30 degrees out and 40mph winds. Brian was like my little movie set assistant They would set us up and then I would take my sweatshirt off and throw it to Brian, take the picture and then I would run to him and he would have my sweatshirt out waiting for me It ended up being so cold, the flash decided not to work.....but we made it though even though we both got a really bad cold


There was a knock at the door and I expected to see our other photographer and it was TOM He said he could only do our photo shoot then had to go get ready for another wedding I was so excited that he showed up It was such a sweet surprise We did a few photos in the Hotel and then got ready to head to the Vanderbilt.







Everyone worked so smoothly and quickly that I couldnt believe it was all over so fast I can not wait to see the proofs Everyone went out of their way to show us photos that they took throughout the day and let us see how they were coming out. I am so happy that we chose Thomas Paul for our Photographer and tell everyone how amazing he is






Gorgeous Faces- A+ - Makeup

I found Jillian on here when I first started to look into vendors. I set up a trial with her and ended up booking right away. The more I looked at the pictures from the trial the more I felt it really didnt look like me and I wasn’t happy with the color choices. I told Jillian and we set up another trial for the week of the wedding. She nailed it and I was SO happy

Day of she got to the Hotel super early in the am and got to work on my mom. She looked BEAUTIFUL My makeup looked flawless and lasted perfect all day. I loved how it came out and couldnt have been happier.





Sarah Rock -Hair-A+

I found her through Jillian at Gorgeous Faces and booked her right away as well. My hair is really hard to curl and she was able to get it to curl and stay at the trial. I changed my headpeice and how I wanted my hair before the wedding and also did a second trial with me before the wedding. I also had bough clip in synthetic hair pieces to help keep the curl in my hair and she made them blend so well that no one knew I had fake hair My mom looked like a movie star and so stylish. She also did my MOH hair in loose curls.




Angel Bridal- A+ My Dress, Headpeice, BM dresses, MOB gown
Ahhh, the Dress...Where to begin We looked around for a while and tried on a few beautiful dresses but I never got that feeling. We decided to call Rosemary who has been a family friend for years and set up an apointment. We walked in and I immediately pulled out this dress and they told me to put it down, it was one of the most expensive ones. I said okay and went on looking. I kept going back to the dress and finally took it and told my mom “What are you worried about I haven’t liked anything anyway ” They were lacing it up and my MOH was like, Oh My God.....I walked out and my mom burst into tears, Michelle started crying, I started crying.....it was IT It had everything I was looking for and more It even had pear cut crystals on it that match the shape of my E-ring...it was Perfect Then I looked at the price and almost died. I told my mom to forget it, it was too expensive. We went on looking but I kept thinking about it and finally my mom dragged me back and we ordered it. It is Belissima Couture Delphine




I have been losing weigh steadily over the past 2 years almost and was concerned about what size to order. At the time I was a 20 and my mom insisted that I ordered an 18 that I would fit in it. I was a bit concerned since I didnt want to push myself....come final fitting, mom was right, and I probably should have ordered an 16 it was a bit big. We made it work since my weight kept changing so we made the best of it.







BM Dresses- Alfred Angelo
I think they are beautiful dresses that the girls can really wear again, and I know one of them is going to a wedding in 3 months and is wearing it We chose indigo for the main color and blue jay for the accent. No one really needed a lot of alterations and the girls all looked wonderful the day of.




Flower Girl Dress-Ebday
I paid 25 bucks for her dress with shipping. She was so little and would grow out of it so fast I didnt want to spend a lot on her dress. This was perfect! It was a bit big on her when the day came but still looked adorable!



MOB Gown- Jade by Jasmine
My mom waited a bit to get a dress since she wanted me to go with her. We looked at a few dresses and my mom wasnt really happy. She picked out one and I HATED it so I went and found this one. She put it on and loved it They were able to rush the order and got it in time to do the alterations




Alterations- My Dress and MOB gown

My dress really only needed a bustle and one little stitch to close the top a bit. I wanted a French Bustle and NO bows on the outside. We worked it out on the first fitting and when I came back to the second fitting, I freaked out because there were bows on the outside and it wasnt a french bustle. There ended up being a mix up in the communications and I cried about it for like 30 min and then got over it and left it be. It looked beautiful the day of, it just could have been a bit higher so it didnt drag as much.
Mom’s Dress had a lot of work done since she is short. They took apart the top and the middle of the dress to make it more proportionate for her. She had about 3 fittings and in the end it was great on her and a wonderful color.

Barron’s at Tri County- A+ Veil

I wasnt too keen on the whole veil idea, especially after I looked at the bridal shop and they were over 350 bucks for tulle....It made me sick to spend that. I went to Barron’s and they were SOOO sweet He took the picture of my dress and went over to the veils and looked at each one until he found the perfect one. It matched perfectly and I loved it It was a fingertip length veil with blusher and I think it was $145. I didnt get to see it until a week before the wedding and it really made me feel like a bride when I put it on. He also gave me a garter that matched as well but I forgot to put it on that day. Oh well, it’s a nice keepsake now :)




Day of Hoddie- A -Tri County

I bought my hoodie on clearance at JCPenny’s and took it to be embroidered at Tri County. It came out perfect. The color matched and it only cost a total of $15 dollars for the whole thing I still wear it to work ;)


Shoebuy.com- A -Bridal Shoes

I can’t walk in shoes that arent flats to save my life I needed a little heel but nothing crazy since I was terrified I would fall down. I ordered two pairs from shoebuy.com and they came quickly and were very nice. I ended up keeping the Coloriffics “Lindsay” shoes and they were very comfortable all day. I only took them off at the reception since they got wet. Their return policy is nice as well and I didnt have any problems at all.



False Hair- A - Tri County Flea Market

I really wanted to wear my hair half up and half down since DH loves it down. I was just worried since my hair doesn’t hold a curl to save its life. When we went to Tri County for my veil we walked past the wig shop by barron’s. I asked her about ideas to help with my hair and she showed my these pieces that just clipped in that were permanently curled. They matched my hair so well. My mom and DH were making fun of me and yelled saying I was nuts for spending $85 on fake hair. Well come the day of, my hair fell by the time we got to the church because of the pictures and humidity. The clip in pieces held my hair up and made it look amazing all day even though my real hair didn’t. One of the best investments for the day I made



Vanderbilt Muesum- A+ for the photo location, A- for Service

I knew I wanted to have a location for photos that had an indoor and outdoor location since the VYC doesnt really have an area for photos if the weather was bad on our wedding day. I saw some photos from another bride who had their photos done at the vanderbilt and knew I had to have them there. We set up a meeting to view the grounds since DH had never been there. We loved it and booked on the spot.








The only problem we had was that we recieved a phone call asking if we wanted to have the balance put on the same CC we booked with and my mom was going to pay cash. I called and left a message and I believe something was lost in translation as the next day I was over drawn by $250 and 3 other amounts bounced in my checking account because they charged my card without telling me. I called and we worked it out, and they refunded the amount of money that I was charged in overdraft fees. I was just so upset that they would charge your card without authorizing it first. But we loved the location and I cant wait to see the Pro Pics




St. Mary’s Church- A - Ceremony

I knew that we were going to get married at St. Mary’s since I pretty much grew up in the parish and my mom sings in the choir. DH was not too keen on the idea of it since he is not catholic and not really religious. I knew it was something that was important to my mom and my late grandma so I said we would do it. We were very set on a Ceremony only even though EVERYONE at the church kept trying to make us do a mass. That made us very uncomfortable.

We did our Pre Cana in FL and it was very last minute because everyone kept telling us different places to go and what we had to do since we werent in NY at the time. When I sent the papers to NY from the church in FL, I was nervous because they had already lost DH dedication Cert that I had handed in. I called the week before the wedding to make sure they had everything and they said yes. When we got to NY, 3 days before the wedding I get a call saying they don’t have our Pre cana certificate or any of our paperwork. I almost lost it I had to call the priest and he had to call and turns out they had it all along

There were just a few little things that irked me that day and I had went out of my way and left instructions before so that it wouldnt happen and it did....Oh well. It was still beautiful









Venetian Yacht Club- A Before A- Day of

We started to look for RH online before we got engaged since we knew it would be in NY and woudnt have a lot of time to come up and make choices. We narrowed it down to a few and visited them when we came up to NY. When we walked into VYC I knew it was perfect I had a list of things that I really wanted the hall to have and VYC had them all. I really wanted to have high ceilings and be on the water. I also wanted to make sure it had an elevator for my family who would need the extra help. The menu was wonderful and just fit the vision I had for the wedding.



We went home and talked about it and decided that we wanted to go with VYC as our hall. We called Bill up and set the date. My mom went to sign our contract with us ad set up a few specifics for us. We really didnt have too much trouble when we were planning but then again my mom did most of the meetings for us. We had a tasting about 4 months before the wedding and everything was great We went over all the special requests. We were told that we would have frozen drinks with our bar service. That was a perk for me since I LOVE them We also wanted to make sure we had a lot of white chocolate as I don’t like milk or dark. We also were told we would have creme puffs with white chocolate on them. Not that they are big deals but they were nice added things that we would enjoy.

We dropped everything off a few days before the wedding and went over the seating plan and everything. We were a bit concerned because the A/C was off. Bill said they were replacing one of the systems and that it would be done in about an hour. He assured us that it would be fixed for the wedding. So we left it at that.

The Wedding Day. We showed up around 12:15pm and went right down to the Bridal suite. They had a few snacks for us and everyone was just glad to get a bite to eat. Our Bridal Attendant was great and helpful. The first concern came as we were bustling my dress. I took my shoes off and realized the floor was SOAKING wet. Not like, I spilled a drink wet, like the ENTIRE thing was wet We had to go out in the hallway of the offices to bustle the dress cuz it was so gross. DH and I went up to CH for a few min to say hi to people before we went in to the main hall to take some pictures. We walked in and it was about 90 degrees I was very upset I was like why is it so hot in here They told me they would turn the air up. As we were taking pictures, one of the waiters knocked over our candle sticks that were lit on our table and set the table cloth on fire.....We were told that we had to close CH because it had been an hour and Bill had specifically told us that we could choose when to let people in but oh well. We left the room so that the guests could come in. Once we had done our dance and I was going around the tables, I realized they had moved tables to opposite sides of the room. Not that it was THAT big of a deal but I had put my older relatives on one side at one spot so they would be in the shade and away from the noise. I asked for a frozen drink and was told that they did NOT have them, nor a blender to make me one......as we are eating im noticing that it is still very warm in the room and people are fanning themselves. I went and got Bill because I was like, why is the air not working from 5 days ago And he said they would bring in fans but the A/C unit was BROKEN It was so hot no one would really dance or move because it was so hot After we cut the cake we had pastries on the tables and chocolate covered stawberries....NONE of which were White chocolate or any creme puffs. Again, not big deals but it was the requests that I made and was mad they werent done because we didnt even negotiate on the price or anything

During the last 30 min or so of the Reception, they started to clean up everything, take the table cloths off, took the tables apart. I was like really.....we are still in our time I knew they were having another wedding after us but really now....It made me a little upset like they were pushing us out...and I knew the other bride and groom One of the waiters also took my veil, BALLED IT UP and threw it in one of our boxes

There was just so many little things that went wrong but all in all we had a wonderful day, it was just uncomfortable at the reception. Food was great and the room LOOKED pretty just was like a sauna








Audrey’s Bakery- A+ - Wedding Cake

When we booked with VYC this was their baker. They are owned by Lovin Oven which my mom works for so we knew everything would be great. When I spoke with Bill at a later date he told me that they were using a different bakery. I asked if I could still use Audrey’s as thats who we signed under and the new bakery was not very accommodating. They said I could pick up samples but they don’t do tastings and I would have to email them my choices and an idea of what I wanted.....Not my idea of a personal experiance. He said that it was up to us. We met with Audrey’s and had a tasting and LOVED all of it Each layer was a different flavor. The Layers where (starting at the bottom)1. Yellow Cake/White chocolate Mouse 2. Choc Cake/White Chocolate Mouse 3. Yellow Cake/Orange Creame Mouse 4. Chocolate Cake/Raspberry Mouse. SOOOO Yummy




After Hours Entertainment- A+ - DJ

The owner, Phil, has been a family friend for years and used to play drums with my mom at church. When we went looking for a DJ we stumbled across After Hours and set up a meeting. We were walking up to the house and Phil came out and all our mouths dropped open. We had no idea he had this company We booked him on the spot and the day of he was PERFECT We just did a basic package since we didnt need any lights or anything. Everyone was up dancing as much as they could since it was hot in the RH. He has so much energy I HIGHLY recommend him

FavorFavor.com- A- photo coster favors

I found them online when I was searching for photo coasters. They had them on sale for .50 each I ordered 125 and shipped them to my mom’s house. They arrived in one piece, the bows were all flat but thats to be expected. My mom put them by the heater when she got them so when I got to them a few months later, the glue was a bit sticky from melting over and over again. But I’m sure it would have been fine if it wasnt near the heat. Everyone loved them and they were a big hit.



Guestbookstore.com-A+ Guest book

I read about this in a post that Jess made (DavenJess) and thought it was such a cute idea I never saw the point of a Guest Book, its something you are never going to look at again, it just takes up space and is silly in my opinion. This was something so cute that allows us to enjoy our wedding day again every time we look at it. Plus it made a great time killer at the airport flying back to FL when our flight was delayed. The people at the airport probably thought we were insanse we were laughing so hard at everything people drew and wrote One of the best things we did for the wedding and got TONS of compliments on it They even sent me more pages overnight when I ran out. Highly recommended


The Knot Shop - A -BM gifts

I ordered monogramed totes for my BM as well as bracelets with their inital on it. They shippe quickly and were nice. They werent anything fancy or anything but VERY functional. The girls must have commented about 100 times how much they loved them and what a great idea it was that they could use them so much. One of the BM bracelet broke at the rehersal dinner but was able to be fixed and she still wore it for the wedding. I also put some body lotions and bath stuff as well as a pair of flip flops in their bags.

Our flower girl got her own little bag with her inital compliments of Marisa (Risileigh). We also got her a dress that had a matching dress for a doll so we had to buy her one to dress up. She looked so cute with her doll and she carried that thing around ALL day long

Things Remembered- A+ -GM gifts and Engraving on DH gift

We picked out the GM gifts when we first got engaged. We all would play poker together all the time when we lived in NY so we knew that would be something we would like to have incorporated for them. We found card cases that came with 2 decks of cards that could be engraved. The guys loved them and will get lots of use out of them.

I had the Bulova watch I bought DH engraved here as well. It took about 30 min and came out great He didn’t know it was engraved when he got it the day of the wedding, I asked him if he liked what it said and he was like what are you talking about He loved it and it makes a nice watch for special occasions.

Beverly Hills Jewler- A- Wedding band

This Jewelry shop is in Orlando, FL. The woman who custom made my Ering works in the store from time to time. She was going to be out of town for a few months so she couldnt make my band and with gold prices she couldnt get me a great deal like she did for my Ering. I found a band in the shop that had been there for over 5 years and the owner was willing to sell me the band alone instead of the set. It is a 2K ring that I was able to get for $800. I love it. It is enough to stand alone and it compliments my ring. Exactly what I wanted.


Shane Co- A- DH wedding band

I don’t know if they have this store outside of FL. It is a family owned business and it was a pleasure to work with. No one is pushy and they are all willing to help you find what you are looking for. DH knew what he wanted and was able to get exactly what he wanted. He got a tungsten band with beveled edges. Its perfect for his line of work since he works with his hands and wont get all scratched up over the years.


DIY- I made a lot of the things we used for the wedding. I give myself an A+!
