9/24/05 Review: Timber Point CC, Patken, Ultimate Class Limo, Get in Tune DJ, Etc.

We had a beautiful wedding. Everything went very well. I would like to take this opportunity to review the day by highlighting the vendors that I used. All is rated on a scale from 1-10, with the highest being 10. Photos follow below the review.

WEATHER: 10
We could not have asked for a better day. It was sunny, clear blue skies & cool in the low 70's. My favorite.

FLORIST: M & F (MAGGIE & FAITH)
EAST ISLIP, NY 10
M & F is the house florist for Timber Point. Since my centerpieces were included with the hall package, I went there to discuss the flowers for the wedding party & myself. Maggie spent about two hours with me going over everything & describing in detail what I can expect to get. Well let me tell you, I was more than happy with the results. My bouquet was gorgeous as were the girls. The colors, flowers, etc. They did such a fantastic job. The centerpieces were beautiful.

BAKERY: BLACK FOREST
LINDENHURST, NY 10
We didn't go crazy picking out the cake, but let me tell you it was gorgeous & was DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!

DJ: GET IN TUNE
RONKONKOMA, NY 10
They did a fabulous job. The dance floor was always crowded & they did exactly what we wanted them to do. We didn't give them a huge list of songs, we only provided about three songs (aside from the first dance, parent dances, cake-cutting & closing songs) that we wanted them to play & left the rest up to them. We were very pleased & would recommend them to anyone.

PHOTOGRAPHER: PATKEN (EVAN)
LINDENHURST, NY 10
Well I was shocked to come home from my honeymoon & have a message that our proofs were completed!! I could not believe it. Evan was our photographer & he was beyond awesome. I know many of the ladies on this board speak & rave about Doug, Steve & Vinny all the time - and believe me, I'm positive that they are all awesome as well. But I would like to add Evan to that list of top Patken photographers. I was blown away after seeing the proofs. He did such a great job. I highly recommend him to anyone booking Patken. Evan is way above a 10 score!! We also used them for video - I will add to this once I get the video back. I will say the videographer was never in the way.

TIMBER POINT COUNTRY CLUB
GREAT RIVER, NY 10
We do not have one complaint. Everything was perfect - food, service, atmosphere. We lucked out with the weather so when we arrived at Timber Point the maitre d asked us if we would like to have the cocktail hour outside. I can't tell you how happy I was to get that opportunity. Issah was our maitre d & he went above & beyond to ensure the night was perfect. Paula was the bridal attendant & she did the same. Everytime I turned around, I had a glass of wine ready for me!! Truly a great place to have a wedding - beautiful grounds, one wedding at a time, not your typical 'factory'. Simple, yet elegant. Exactly what we wanted. Anyone booked here has absolutely nothing to worry about!!!

MAKE-UP
MILLY 10
Milly is a co-worker of my MOH. They both work for Estee Lauder. She did a fabulous job. She came to the house, gave me a great price & my make-up held up for the entire day & night. Couldn't have been more pleased.

HAIR: ALAINA FROM MAXIMUS MERRICK 10
She is my regular stylist & came to the house as well. I knew I would be happy.

LIMO: ULTIMATE CLASS LIMO
HICKSVILLE, NY 10
I have used Ultimate Class throughout the years since my company uses them for corporate travel. So I really had no worries with this one. They are extremely reliable. They were prompt & extremely helpful throughout the entire time.

BRIDAL SHOP: ADRIENNE'S
ISLIP, NY 8
I have yet to find a bridal shop with no issues. Honestly, I had no major problems with Adriennes. Of my three bridesmaids, two had alterations done by a friend. The other had no problems with hers. The dresses arrived well in advance so we were not stressing. My dress arrived 4 months after I ordered it, 6 months before the wedding. The only complaint I have is that one of the straps on my dress was a little loose/big & was sliding off my shoulders during the wedding from time to time, including when I was walking down the aisle!!! I don't understand how that happened since I had a fitting a few days before & maybe I should've noticed it - but I feel they are professionals, not me. That is why I am not giving them a 10. But overall, I would say they were definitely easy to deal with. Cleo is a great seamstress, I would recommend her if you are using Adrienne's.

INVITATIONS/FAVORS
FOLLOW YOUR HEART 10
Kathy was awesome, so helpful!! Prices were very reasonable & turn-a-round time quick. She did an awesome job with the favors, they were wrapped so nice!!

HONEYMOON: HAWAII 10
Ok, it's Hawaii...cannot give it less than a 10. We had such a great time!!! Flew first class thanks to my many frequent flier miles. It is the only way to go, looooong flight. Cannot imagine doing it in coach. We stayed in Kauai, Maui & Oahu. We were only in Oahu for one night. Maui was the Grand Hyatt, Kauai the Marriott Beach Club & Oahu the Outrigger on the Beach. All were great hotels on the beach. Food was great in Hawaii, although can get expensive. However it was not as bad as everyone made it seem. Please fm me with any questions...

Another beautiful TP wedding! Everything looked gorgeous! Isiah was my MD too. Are they using the Black Forest bakery now? When I had mine there in '04 they were still using Audrey's.

Thanks for the review. I am getting married at TPCC in August '06 and it is great to hear all of the positive things I have to look forward to. I am also using Patken for my photographer. I heard great things about them as well. I was just curious about your centerpieces. I know TPCC includes them in the package but what do they include exactly? Do you have any pics of the centerpieces? Also, how long before your wedding did you pick them out? I would love to see more pics.
