**A Prinses Wedding on 7/7/07** **ALL LIWEDDING VENDORS!**
LI Weddings and the LI Weddings Team - Really… What do you say… to a website that has taught me so much, and not just wedding related, but life lessons as well. I have met so many wonderful friends in which I had the chance to share their beautiful days with and discuss the ins and outs of them planning the most important day’s of their lives. I learned things that I could have never even imagined incorporating into our wedding and make it “our” unique wedding. Dwayne and I are truly grateful for discovering this site.If I asked my DH what he loved about LIWeddings… he would have a few answers:
1. It got me away from him to leave him alone, so he can play more Xbox Live.
2. He too also loves all the ideas we learned from here.
3. But most of all I know my DH would say the best thing about LIWeddings would be the WOTY where he won the 42” plasma flat screen TV…
So… we will never forget LIWeddings, as we wake to our beautiful TV every morning.
Thank you Ron, Liz, Kim and team!
Planning up to to 7/7/07
DH and I got engaged in 2005 but wanted to wait until 7/7/07, I could have never of fathomed how popular this date was going to be! Seriously, we had everything booked by the end of year in 2005 that I guess the vendors didn’t really pick up yet on the fact that it was going to be such a popular day.
Before I start the actual review, I just want to say… Don’t listen to anyone else, (well I guess you should count your FH opinion) but in regards to what you want on your day, don’t listen to anyone else, do what makes you happy. There were many things that people pointed out like “why are you doing this? Or What??? Your doing what???” I ignored all the comments, and after the day of the wedding… everyone couldn’t believe how everything was tied together, and were blown away.
I also wanted to add to remember what this day is about, its not about your Mother not liking something, or you not getting along with your MIL or SIL, or your bridal party isn’t beckoning at your every call, or the florist put the wrong flowers in your bouquet… its about you and your FH and expressing your love. So try not to get involved in all the hoopla and chaos, just enjoy your day because believe me it goes so fast!
Theme-
Black and White Polka Dots Ribbon- Shindo- 35thSt. and 7th Ave. NY- A++
Our theme started way back when I was working for Guess and used one of my vendors and bought all of this Black and White polka dot ribbon… I absolutely loved it and fell in love with it and needed to incorporate it in the wedding, so we just made it our theme and everything looked so perfect! I bought this ribbon back in 2005, who would have thought that in the year 2007 polka dots would be such a big hit! I guess I am somewhat good at what I do… LOL.
Save the Dates-
Magnet Queen - A++
www.magnetqueen.com
1-800-248-5605
DH and I won a $100 gift Certificate from the WOTY to Magnet Queen, and really didn’t plan on sending Save the Dates until we won the GC… so we designed them in illustrator, sent them the file and they made them perfectly! We were so pleased, The turn around was a little over a month, but we ordered them during the Thanksgiving-Christmas holidays so that is understandable. Overall we were very pleased and would totally use Magnet Queen again for another occasion!
Invitations-
½ DIY – Paper Presentation NYC- A++ a
½ Professionally done from Just Announce It- Oceanside NY A++
516-764-6732
We ordered the center of the Invite, the RSVP cards with envelopes and the Reception cards off of a book in Just Announce it. They sent us proofs, after the 4th time of us changing the font, we approved it and they were sent around 1 month later. It took around 2 months total because we kept revising the fonts on the invites.
We then bought the pocket folds, envelopes for the pocket folds, black background cards, and cardstock from Paper presentation in NYC. We designed the OOT card, the deSeversky History Card and the direction card ourselves and printed them out. We glued the main invitation ordered from Just announce it on the black background, and then glued it into the pocket fold. We wrapped each invite in our Black ribbon, and our Black and White Polka dot ribbon for the finishing touch and presto! We printed our envelopes in our printer. We loved the final product!
Bridal Gown-
Paloma Blanca- Burtons Bridal A++
631-424-3377
Well… I am very particular and knew exactly what I wanted, NO BEADING AND NO EMBROIDERY. I went to several wedding boutiques and they looked at me like I had 10 heads, and 15 arms… “no beading, and no embroidery, what are you crazy, we don’t have that” Literally like 8-10 stores. So… needless to say I was VERY DISCOURAGED… in addition to being a very voluptuous girl didn’t help since any dress I even tried on wouldn’t even zip up.
So I went to my next best thing… tear sheets… I went through all the wedding magazines and tore hundreds of pictures of these miraculous gowns that didn’t exist according to the bridal salons… (Yes… they actually do make dresses without beading and without embroidery!) Problem was… non of the stores carried them…
I decided that I fell in love with the Paloma Blanca gown, and that if I couldn’t try on the dress, at least I can find a store with the dress and see what it looks like. I took my tear sheet to Lillettes, a very nice lady helped me… I saw the dress and fell in love with… Problem is… they stop cutting the dress in a size 14… (which is like a -0 in normal sizes LOL) So… I asked if she could call the manufacturer and request it being made to order in my size. She was very polite and did, and the manufacturer agreed to do it but with an up charge, she got off the phone and told me it would be an $800 up charge for the custom size. NOW… I know you might need to use a little more fabric, but come on… it doesn’t take that much more fabric and labor that $800 would entail. I am in the fashion industry and just knew that I was getting a funny feeling from this.
So I proceeded to take my tear sheet to Burtons… automatically the dress was much cheaper at Butons compared to Lillettes without the additional up charge, the lady then also called the manufacture and got off the phone and said it would be a $300 increase… WHAT… $300! I couldn’t believe how much the girl at Lillettes was trying to rip me off… at first I was upset… but I didn’t really care, because I now knew I was getting the dress I wanted at the price I wanted to pay!
When my dress came in, it was just perfect, trying it on for the first time, it fit me perfect because it was made exactly for me… I mean what else could I ask for! The alterations that Burtons did were easy and everything was perfect. Although I do have 1 piece of advise… I got a regular bustle with a loop to go around the button… Bad decision… by the end of the night 5 of my buttons were popped off of my dress because people kept stepping on my gown when everyone was dancing… If I had to do it again, I would have gotten either a French Bustle, or re-enforced the traditional bustle… just a little tip!
My Veils!-
Sew Deb A++
www.sewdeb.com
I always wanted a real silk veil, and couldn’t find one anywhere in NY… so the next best thing was to have one made. I learned about Sew Deb here on LI Weddings, I ordered the silk Tulle for my 2 veils, 1 cathedral length for the ceremony and pictures, and 1 elbow length for the reception if I chose to wear it. I called Hannsons in England and ordered swatches of the colors available in the silk tulle, ordered my tulle and they shipped it directly to Sew Deb. I ordered my Veil I think in March and received it June. Yes… it took much longer then expected BUT… I kept letting her know that it was ok because I know she had prom season and was going crazy with that in addition to communion season… plus I didn’t really need it until July so what was the point of me having it in my house for my cats to claw at. I received the veil; it was EXACTLY what I wanted!!! I hung it out at my mothers house so there wouldn’t be any wrinkles… they were perfect! I actually wound up wearing the elbow length veil for the entire reception… that’s how much I loved them!
My Piece of advice here… If you want a Silk veil… depending on the time of the year… ORDER IT EARLY, sew deb is only 1 person but definitely worth the wait!

Shoes-
Guess- A
www.guess.com
Well… to go along with my polka dot theme… of course I needed polka dot shoes! Before I left Guess I heard there was polka dot heels coming out. I was so excited knowing that they were coming out… but the wait was killing me! Finally, the shoes hit the stores, I went and bought them and was so excited! Only reason why they didn’t get an A++ is because they were really high, and just not the most comfy shoes to wear all day. But I wore them for the ceremony and most of the pictures, then I switched to my dance shoes to start the party!
Long Line Bra-
Georgettes- A
I learned about Georgettes here on LIWeddings, went there, they measured me and gave me the bra. The reason why they didn’t get an A++ is because they lady kept trying to talk me out of the bra that I wanted, but I kept telling her my dress was low cut and she kept trying to sell me a higher cut bra that you would be able to see. In the end I bought what I wanted and it was perfect.
Hair “Spray” Pin-
Barrons- Tri County- A++
I wasn’t going to wear anything in my hair but 2 days before the wedding I went to Tri- County just to get our rings cleaned since I was driving by. So walking in I stopped at the infamous Barrons that everyone raves about. I looked at the hair things and found one and bought it because still 2 days before the wedding I really didn’t know what I was going to do with my hair. I am so happy I decided to buy it… I absolutely loved the way it looked under my veil… it was just enough glitz to show that I had something under there but nothing too too much.
Rings-
DH- Fortunoffs A++, Mine Zales A++
So… DH picked out my wedding band, and his… so really I didn’t have a choice here. DH got me my wedding band before we even got engaged for Valentines day, when we were in college. It was a promise ring at the time, but I also promised to wear it as my wedding band when we got married. I absolutely love my wedding band, we had no problems with Zales or Fortunoffs.
Tuxedos-
After Hours- DH Tux- B, Groomsmen – A++
www.afterhours.com
Ok… So After hours gave us the correct tuxes, on time, no problems, but… it seemed they measured my DH wrong and he was “swimming” in his tux. He was so upset when he picked it up at how big it was on him. But in the end he never said anything to After Hours, so I don’t know if they would have switched the size, or even done anything. Overall my DH was very upset and felt like he look horrible the entire day. I of course thought he looked amazing! Other then that, the groomsmen tuxes were perfect and mostly everyone was happy!
Tie for DH-
Wild Ties- A++
www.WildTies.Com
I ordered DH a Polka Dot tie for him to wear… I loved it! But he wasn’t so keen on it at first, so I really didn’t know if he was going to wear it or not, of course I wanted him to feel good the day of his wedding so he had the option to wear it, or wear the tie that came with the tux. In the end he decided to wear the polka dot tie and I was so excited the second I saw him down the aisle! I loved it! And everyone commented on how coordinated everything was!
Maid/Matron of Honor Dresses-
Bridal Elegance- B+

Bill Levkoff- Style 550, and Style 451
www.billlevkoff.com
Ok… So I was actually very surprised that I had to give a B+ to Bridal Elegance, I read such rave reviews, but I felt maybe that Bridal Elegance got to big too soon so to speak. I only had 2 MOH’s, that’s it… we already picked out the dresses previously in mags, we went there they tried on and we ordered. 1 MOH needed extra length, and the other needed a bigger size. There was no problems ordering them or getting them. My problem with Bridal Elegance was after they received the dresses, they wanted to schedule the fittings for them on June 30th… That’s right, June 30th… I then called back the shop and told them… Hello? The wedding is on July 7th, plus I am sure the store is closed at least 1-2 days during July 4th week for the holiday… How were they going to have them fit the dresses, and then do all the alterations and have them pick them back up in less then 7 days. They then re-scheduled the fittings to the week prior just in case there were any issues after the fittings… which there was. I went back with only 1 of my MOH to pick up her dress… mind you she is a size 0 (so they ordered her a size 2 dress) and the lady pinned the dress so tight, like so tight that she felt like she couldn’t breath, and when she said something that she felt like she was going to pass out, the lady insisted on that’s how it needs to be. I then insisted that it wasn’t how it needed to be and told her to loosen it, Then after the alterations were done and we went back to pick up the dress the Hem was done so sloppy that I made them take it out and re-do it! My other MOH also had the same issue with her hem, and didn’t really have a good time at the fitting either, she said the lady was very rude to her when she was there. I felt so bad for my MOH’s for putting them through this, plus 1 of them just had twins and I felt horrible her having to travel all the way out there to pretty much get an attitude. I mean… all and all the dresses looked beautiful on them, and we got what we ordered, but I just feel that they don’t have enough man power in the shop yet for the amount of business they are getting.
Flower Girl Dresses-
My Girl Dress- A++
www.mygirldress.com
This was so easy, I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on the Flower Girl dresses since I knew they would grow out of them so quickly and they would only wear them 1 day, so I ordered the cutest dresses online at mygirldress.com. they were super cheap and super cute! So easy, came very quickly and everything was perfect!
Flower Girl Shoes-
Love My Shoes- A++

I wanted little ballet slippers for the girls, again really simple went to love my shoes, bought their sizes and done. They were exactly what I wanted.

Really easy… they came on time… they were waiting for me (I was of course late for the church) they were really nice, and they left. They did their jobs perfectly! I have no complaints here! Easy!

Ceremony-
St. Joseph’s Church, Garden City NY- A++ (how can you rate a church)
www.stjosephchurchgc.com
516-747-3535
My DH was not catholic when we met, nor did I ask him to convert, but he wanted to do so on his own. We met with the St. Joseph’s which was the church I was brought up in. Since at the time I wasn’t a very practicing catholic I really didn’t know which priest to meet with, my mother attends the church more then I did at the time told me to meet with Father Gabriel, and how kind he is during his masses. We made the appt to meet with him and I honestly have to say meeting Father Gabriel has made me look at life totally differently, he made such an impact on my DH and I lives, we really fell in love with how genuine, down to earth and just how real he is. Again, how do you rate a church, or even a priest, but in all honestly I am so blessed to have meet such a wonderful person that I know I can always go to if I need anything. We met with Father Gabriel ever week for about 6 months, until Dwayne learned (and I relearned) all the beliefs and stories of the Catholic religion. But we didn’t just learn about religion, we learned so much more, sometimes we would meet with him around 4 hours at a time, because we would be just talking and laughing we didn’t know where the time went! Dwayne was baptized on June 30th, 1 week before the wedding, and his first holy communion was at our wedding. We truly admire Father Gabriel. He is such an inspiration to us, and anyone who has the chance to get married at St. Joseph’s should be honord to be married by him. He really is such a wonderful man, you can see his personality glowing in the pictures below.
Reception-
deSeversky Mansion- on the campus of NYIT Old Westbury- A++++++
www.nyit.edu/deseversky/
516-686-7675
Dwayne and I seriously looked at mostly every wedding hall in Nassau county and probably around 20 more in Suffolk, I swore he was going to kill me before we found a catering hall… LOL. After I looked at everything I decided to do some research online because dragging him to these places which were beautiful, but I just didn’t get the “THIS IS IT” feeling from them, was annoying him who then annoyed me… LOL. . I came across the deSeversky Mansion website and absolutely fell in love with it… I knew it was going to be “the place” the second I saw it on the website! I was so excited I called and made an appt to see it that weekend; we went and just absolutely fell in love with it. We didn’t want the “typical” wedding caterer, we wanted to be only our wedding, and we wanted it to be eclectic and just overall different, and that’s exactly what we found at deSeversky. We also needed a place that would give us 100pp minium on a Sat night, we didn’t want Friday night, and we also weren’t so into the morning weddings, mostly because I hate getting up early! So that’s why we were set in Sat night. deSeversky had everything we wanted and more. It just has a feeling about it the second you drive down the path to the mansion of WOW… The place is beautiful with so many different opportunities for pictures.
Our first meeting there we met with Debbie, she is a very nice lady who really helped us the entire planning of the wedding. To be honest, I was very nervous meeting with her because I had read some crazy things about deSeversky, and Debbie and their service. I was advised to hire a DOC to keep on top of deSeversky, which I did. (we will get to her review later, I am saving the best for last!) I was overly extra nice to Debbie because I knew she was going to be handling our account if we booked, she gave us the package deals and we went home to discuss which the options we were going to go with, we went back and met with Debbie the second time and booked deSeversky for 7/7/07. I then realized that I actually really liked Debbie, she was really sweet and I felt that I was so nervous of what I read about the place that she was going to be this crazy person… but in all honestly so was one of the nicest ladies, I dealt with her throughout the entire process and didn’t have 1 problem. I really liked her! I guess the moral to that story is, don’t always believe what you read on here, sometimes you need to just go and see for yourself, or just remember that other peoples personalities might not be like yours, so if they have a problem with something it might be because of something they did and not the actual vendor.
Moving on to the day of the wedding… Debbie was there and when we arrived after our church mostly everything was set up, and what ever they had questions on (which was very little) they asked me right away and finished setting up. Everything looked absolutely amazing… cocktail hour was beautiful, everything was set up perfect, the reception was amazing (I heard the food was good, we didn’t get to eat ANYTHING!)… the 1 insy winsy thing which was missed was the “homemade cookies” which were supposed to be placed on the table at the end of the night, they were never served… but what are you going to do… I honestly cannot complain about that, and that was the only thing that went wrong, and I won’t even say it went wrong because there was so much dessert (we had additional catered in from Leonetties) that it would have just been a waste of food and its better off that they weren’t served.
All and all, deSeversky really made our wedding the wedding of our dreams, we are so thankful to the staff that went above and beyond to make our day so special. If anyone was having any doubts about deSeversky… DON”T. Stop.. and look no further, they were absolutely amazing!
Wedding Cake, Grooms Cake, Mini Viennese etc.-
Leonetties- Greenvale- A++
So… the cake was not included at deSeversky and 1 of their house vendors was Leonetties, DH and I have been there before for Gelato, so we knew of the place. We called and asked if we could come in for a cake tasting… he then proceeded to ask me which flavors we would like to taste, in which I told him. We went their for our meeting and he comes out with these 2 cakes (the size of the top of wedding cakes) for us to take home to our families and try… I was in shock! Before we went to Leonetties we went somewhere else that was recommended to us for a cake tasting and she cut this little stale pc of cake, and continued to spread some jam on it… it tasted horrible and it was no bigger then the nail on my thumb. This is why I was in such shock when Serverio the owner of Leonetties came out with these 2 big cakes for us to take home.., He really is such a sweet man. After we all tasted the cake, we decided on the flavors and went back to order them. In addition to the wedding cake, we wanted to have a mini Viennese… we didn’t want a huge Viennese because we felt like the food was always wasted at the end because it is just too much, and we didn’t want the people to have to go and get their desert, so we decided to have a mini Viennese for each person on their plate. So each person then got 1 Choc Covered Strawberry, a scoop of gelato, a pc of wedding cake, a pc of the grooms cake. Plus then in the center of the table there were a plate of pastries and the homemade cookies (which were forgotten but that wasn’t Leonetties fault). I heard that everything was amazing… people loved the fact that they had so much to chose from for dessert! I saw the plates and they looked amazing! Leonetties really did such an amazing job! Everything was delivered on time, and looked and tasted amazing. The one thing that I did hear is that the some of the pastries, I heard this from 2 people, tasted a little freezer burned, now I cannot say whos fault that is… it could have been Leonetties, and it could have been deSeversky’s maybe storing them incorrectly… who knows. All I know is that everything looked amazing, and I heard nothing but rave reviews for everything else. Our Cakes were delicious… which is why Dwayne forgot to feed ME THE CAKE, and took the bit for himself… you can see my face of shock in the picture below… He wanted more he said it was so good. His grooms cake was a carrot cake which I heard was also delicious!

Reception Music-
EastCoats Band- A+++++++
www.eastcoastband.com
516-354-2372
To say that Eastcoast “made” the wedding is truly an understatement! I am still hearing such rave reviews about how amazing this band is. Of course like everything else, I dragged Dwayne to see about 15 band showcases… we went back to see EastCoats 4 times! They are even more reasonably priced then the other bands out there that aren’t even as ½ as good! Even after we booked them we went back to see them that is how amazing they are. They really aren’t as popular here on LIWeddings and they should be! They are very down to earth and play what ever you want, I didn’t even give them a play list and everyone was dancing, including Dwayne and I the entire night… they were truly amazing! Actually DH and I are going to go see them again soon, they also play at different bars and lounges in the city. We are so happy we found EastCoats they definitely made the wedding! If you are interested in a band… seriously look no further, they will make your wedding a night you will never forget! EVERYONE WAS ON THE DANCEFLOOR!

Cocktail Hour Music-
Art Stings- A++
www.art-strings.com
718-441-3010
Since our cocktail hour was in several rooms since deSeversky is a Mansion we wanted music that would be portable so that everyone would be able to hear it. We decided strolling violins really went with the atmosphere of the mansion and would be perfect since they would be able to “stroll” throughout the cocktail hour. They looked amazing… everyone commented on how elegant they were and they did tableside serenades. I found Art Stings online, and talked to the owner on the phone, he was very nice, and they showed up perfectly on time did an amazing job and that was that. Good job and if I ever need strolling violins or any other trio etc… I would definitely call them again!

Cocktail Hour Treat-
White Castle- B
Ok… so what more could DH ask for… his favorite food at his cocktail hour! I thought I had a brilliant idea of ordering my DH White Castle to be passed around on little silver platters at cocktail hour, kind of an oxy moron so to speak. Well, I called corporate, and met with the White Castle in Hempstead, I ordered 250 Cheeseburgers, which is what we paid for. The manager said he would delivery the burgers himself… What service right! So… (you can even ask my DOC) this was my only stress of the entire day. I swore I asked her at least 300 times, did you call white castle? Did they remember? Are they on their way? and every time Christine just knew the right answer to shut me up for about 20 mins until I asked again! LOL. But of course, she kept on top of them and they came right on time! Now… the reason for the B is they came with NO CHEESE! that was a big no no… 250 burgers with no cheese… not like ½ with cheese and ½ no cheese…. Every burger no cheese! But I got over it within 3 minutes… they were still a HUGE hit and everyone got a kick out of them!

Cigar Rollar
La Rosa Cubana Cigars- NYC- A++
www.larosacubanacigars.com
212-532-7450
I was recommened to La Rosa by my wonderful DOC. They were very reasonably priced, and it was just that extra something for guest to have at the end of the night during dessert. We set up the Cigar Rollar in the Library room which had French doors to the back patio where people could watch him do his action and then proceed to the patio to enjoy a cigar or two. He came right on time, and was very polite! A very easy A++!

Flowers-
Flowers by Burtons A++
631-424-3377
Flowers was another thing I was very particular about… I worked at a florist for 5 years and everyone knew I used to be in the business so I really wanted the best of the best, but really didn’t want to waste money knowing that I would only see these arrangements and bouquets for the most 8 hours in my lifetime (well besides photos). We priced around, Flowers by Brian, Flowers Michelle, Pedestals, and Flowers by Burtons. Right away, Burtons gave us the best price… mainly because I was picking very expensive flowers where as the other florist were giving me sky rocket pricing, but Burtons is the same price any flower so I really got my moneys worth! I absolutely loved my flowers!
Jon from Burtons helped us, he gave me everything I wanted and more… Literally, we had two flower girls and I wanted little flower balls with ribbon for them but he warned me at least 20 times not to get them, that I would regret it, and they would fall apart because they are just so fragile and the girls would swing them around. I of course, want what I want, so he did it. BUT… because he is so nice… he threw in 2 flower girl baskets free of charges with the same flowers so if they did fall apart I would have baskets for the pictures later… WELL… how thankful was I because, as he predicted they fell apart before our picture taking. I mean I knew they were going to fall apart, but not before they went down the aisle, and that’s all I wanted them for! And got it! Plus, we got 2 extra little baskets for them for the pictures. It was perfect!
If I wanted to be really picky… I would have liked the bouquets for the girls wrapped a little nicer, but I mean I am really being picky here. They went above and beyond… they even threw in a centerpiece for my mother’s dining room table in her house. They were amazing!

Bouquet Frame-
ChristmasPeople.com A++
http://www.christmaspeople.com/photo-frame-ornaments/14243.asp
Really easy, Really Cheap, and Really quick! I ordered it, they engraved it, and it came right away! Only thing was… I thought it looked a little too big… the rhinestones I thought looked a little gaudy when it came… but after seeing it in the picture, I feel like if it was any smaller you wouldn’t be able to see it in the pictures as much. So… I was very happy with it!

Photographer-
B rett M atthews- A++
www.b rettm atthews.com
516-621-4242
DH and I absolutely fell in love with B rett M atthews when we first met them, we met with many different photographers and just knew that B rett M atthews was definetly the ones for us! I worked with Chris as the main photographer, he is hysterical, seriously we hit it off right away, we just both had that sarcastic sense of humor. Him and his team showed up on time, and did such an amazing job. We are so happy with our proofs, the only thing… again I am being very picky… I felt like we missed some core shots, now we booked B rett M atthews because we are artsy type of people, and we felt they had definitely a more artsy side but I didn’t think we were going to lose core type pictures. Now again I am being very picky… they missed DH and I in the limo right after we got married… I have no shot of that, and also my mother, DH mother and the MOH’s coming down the aisle we only have 1 picture of each.. now maybe they took more pictures but didn’t put them in the proofs but I just felt that maybe we should have had more to choose from in case they didn’t look that good, or if they were unhappy with the picture. But again… I am being very picky… I ABSOLUTLY LOVE MY PROOFS and wouldn’t change anything in the world. In fact… I am almost regretting putting this in my review… but I do want to post it because if those type of typical shots are important to you I would just print them out or ask for them to be done… they definitely hit the nail on the head with our style. I just of course wanted more more more! But, again… they were AMAZING and deserve the best grade in the book! It really is going to be so hard to pick our photos for our album!

Oh… Where do I start. Christine was one of the first brides I met on here at an 06 GTG… yep that’s right… there were hardly any 07 brides on LIW when I first joined so I crashed the 06 boards and their get-togethers! Christine was hysterical, we got along great! We always kept in touch thru LIWeddings, and when she became a DOC and since I needed a DOC I felt she was the perfect match for me, seeing her plan her entire wedding and her attention to detail matched my anal retentiveness perfectly!
On the day of the wedding, she showed up right on time, was there to help me get dressed since it was a mad chaos at my house, and just was by my side throughout the entire wedding. I really had no worries the entire day, that’s exactly why I wanted a DOC, I didn’t want to worry about anything (well except the White Castle which was over when it showed up). If I were to ask Christine I think she would say I was pretty easy to work with… maybe too easy because I was so laid back I think she kind of had to keep on top of me since I was pretty much… “ahhhh whatever happens happens, I am not going to stress today…” but I also think this is why I was late for the Church, and probably would have been later if it wasn’t for Christine pushing my a$$ to move!
I absolutely love Christine, I couldn’t have asked for anyone better to do the job, and I know that I will keep in touch with Christine from time to come. I honestly was so thrilled and honored to work with such a talented woman. She is just “Exquisite”!
Hair and Make-Up

www.b r i d a l l o u n g e .com
Again… Seriously… what to say? M I A is absolutely one of the most talented hair and make up artist I have met, she is so patient, that she did my hair (the way I asked her to) and I didn’t like it, and she took it out, I told her to do what she wanted, and I absolutely LOVED IT! I mean, she is obviously good at what she does so many brides on LIWeddings look so amazing because of her talented work! She is such a wonderful person to work with, so down to earth and loving. I am so thankful to have met M I A and so thankful for having her to my Hair and Make Up, I felt so beautiful the day of my wedding. Which is exactly what I wanted to feel, and it was all because of her! Thank you!
DIYS!!!!!!
Favors, Boxes for the Favors, Tissue Paper for Favors- A++++
Tortuga Caribbean Rum Cakes order from Nashville Wrap
www.nashvillewraps.com
Totally easy… we ordered them, they came quickly, and done. Everyone loved the cakes and I wrapped the boxes with more polka dotted ribbon form Shindo.

OOT Boxes
Nashville Wraps
www.nashvillewraps.com
Again… Super easy and Super Cute! We stuffed them with all of our favorite goodies, put a cute saying on the outside of the box that we of course got from LIWeddings, and Presto!

Programs and Menus
Me, Myself and I.
Printed them out, and attached our ribbon… super cute, but super annoying!

Table Numbers
Me, Myself and I.
Bought the frames from Ikea, printed out our design and done!

Cake Topper
Me, Myself and I.
Ordered the “D” online, I actually don’t remember the name of the place, and ordered the Swarovski crystals online again… I think on E-Bay… but again… not positive.

Slipper Basket
Me, Myself and I.
I actually bought the slippers that were left over from another wonder LIWeddings Bride. I got a great deal! And the slippers came out perfect! I attached a little saying again that I got from LIWeddings! This was also a great hit!

Place Card Frames
Me, Myself and I.
We wanted to have all different frames for the place card to just go with the artsy eclectic feel of the mansion… so a fellow LIWeddings Bride was selling her left over frames, I got them at a great deal! We printed out the place cards and this became and additional favor for the guest!

Ok… So that must be the shortest review ever!
So… I will be brief, just relax and enjoy your day, you deserve the best, but remember if something goes wrong… who cares… its not what matters, what matters is the love of you and your husband and that’s what the day is all about.
Good Luck to the future brides, and Congratulations to all the Newlyweds!
XOXO
Renee

Fantastic review! I understand what your saying about the 'core' pics, I'm missing DH and I getting in the limo at the end of the night, no pics of my favors (that took forever wrapping), and the stuff like that. But again I went with them for the same reasons as you- and I personally think they're among the BEST!!

What a beautiful review, Renee!! And what a beautiful wedding! Your attention to detail is out of this world- everything looks so pulled together.I was very touched that Dwayne went through his sacraments and that his first holy communion was at your wedding ceremony- what a wonderful way to celebrate!!
It was so nice to meet you both very briefly at pre-cana- wishing you and Dwayne all the love in this world!!
