BEST WEDDING EVER- LOVED THE ROYALTON!!!
OK, so I know a lot of you have been waiting for my BIG REVEAL on how my wedding went…THE DAY WAS PERFECTION!!!
But before I get to that…I just want to say what a great experience it was working with the Royalton all the way up to that special day. Michael Einhorn was like my personal bridal consultant. I would be at work and have an idea and shoot him a quick email and he would respond with his thoughts and suggestions as well. He helped me weed out my bad ideas, but in a very positive and non-confrontational way (unlike most places). I had ideas that everyone told me were crazy and I just didn’t listen, but when I sat down with Michael and we really went in depth about how everything could play out, I realized some of my ideas simply would not work and I appreciate that about him so much!!! He was very willing to accommodate some of our special needs and never once made me feel like I was just another bride that he was working with and never once made me feel rushed. I always felt special. Michael and Girard also made sure everything was running smoothly with my vendors. As I mentioned previously, I had a small issue with the limo company and Michael took care of it for me without me even having to ask. THEN when I called a month later to check in on something, Girard answered the phone and as soon as I said my name he said, “Oh, so did everything work out OK with the limo company”. They are all completely on the same page and really make sure they KNOW who their brides are and all the details about their wedding…without having to say, “hold on, let me find your file” before they know who you are.
It was also a great experience to work with our band…VISION. Rasheeda was the leader and she was great to work with!!! She gave me her personal email address and phone number so if I had any questions, concerns, or just wanted to go over a few things, she would be available for me. She was very flexible about the song selection and how much involvement we wanted the band to have with our guests. She suggested songs and timing for the songs and thoroughly answered all of my questions…big or small. And the night of the wedding…OMG…everyone was BLOWN AWAY with how amazing the band was!!!!!! I must have heard from about 50 people that they often had to turn around and check to see if the band was still playing a song because it sounded that perfect!!!! They also keep their song list very up-to-date, which was great for me because I had a younger crowd and wanted new, modern music and that is what we got!!! They mixed in some of the classics too...they are so versatile…they could play ANYTHING!!!
OK…so onto the actual day…
I decided to get ready at my parents house and Mike, his family and all the GMs got ready at the Royalton (which he raved about…they brought them food and drinks and the guys played poker). I got my hair done at SALON TIKA in Rockville Centre by Tara. She was wonderful and played around with my hair until it was perfect. All my BMs, the MOB and MOG also got their hair (and some make-up) done there. The girls were wonderful and opened early for us, so we had the place all to ourselves! My make-up was done by a friend…who did a FABULOUS job!! The BM’s dresses were actually Laundry and we got them from Lord and Taylor. I fell in love with the color and just had to have them!!! My mom got her dress from Blanche and they were great with her!!! The women really helped her to pick the perfect dress!!
So…Then when I got back to my parents house the videographer (Nick from Rambling Rose) and photographer (Nick from Cassarino Studios) were there waiting for me. They worked really well together and made sure to get everything on film (I ended up having 865 pictures to chose from). They were both fun to work with, which you really need after the 300th photo!!! Once at the reception, they just blended in with the crowd, but stayed close by so they could get shots of everything. It was perfect because I did not once feel like I had cameras hovering over me all night!!!!
OK, so then the Rolls Royce (Royalty Limo) came. The driver was SO GREAT!!! He was extremely helpful and was like my personal wedding attendant up until the second he left. He was very calming, had breath mints and water for me, knew where I should stand in the church…just did everything to make it go smoothly.
We also had a trolley (Classic Transportation) pick up all the GMs from the Royalton and then come back and get all the BMs from my house. I LOVED the trolley. It was so cute looking and fit everyone in so well. It also came with a fully stocked cooler with water, soda and beers. It looked really cute in pictures and best of all it was HALF the price of a party bus!!!
The ceremony was performed at St. Thomas Church in West Hempstead by Msgr. James Lisante. He was UNBELEIVABLE!!! I could not have imagined a better ceremony. He made it so personal and read letters aloud that Mike and I wrote to each other…there was not a dry eye in the house!
After the church we took some pictures out front, but we ended up just going back to the Royalton to do the rest of them. The grounds are so beautiful, as is the interior, so we just did not see any reason to drive someplace else. This turned out to be a GREAT decision!!!! We got some amazing pictures and even though our cocktail hour didn’t start until 6pm, they accommodated all the family and wedding party that were there from 3:30pm onward with food and drinks. They were busy setting up, but they still made everyone there first priority. From the second I stepped out of the Rolls until the very end of the night, Tatyana, the bridal attendant, was right there by my side…all night. She was so helpful and made sure I was taken care of all night. She held my train and carrier my bouquet and lip gloss. She also communicated things to the rest of the staff for me so I could just tell her and rely on her to get it done…she was just SPECTACULAR!!!
Just before our guests started to arrive, Mike and I were whisked away upstairs to make sure we had some time together and time to relax before the party started. All the appetizers that were out for the cocktail hour were also out in our room. They brought up plates of everything for us to try so we didn’t have to miss out on all the great food!! It was such a nice time for Mike and I to just take it all in and catch our breath…plus we knew it was the last time all night we would be able to just eat in peace!!

When we went down to the cocktail hour everyone was there and we made our grand entrance. The place looked amazing, people could not stop talking about how great the food was and the bartenders were not cheap with the alcohol…which is def important for our families and friends!!! And we heard from about ½ the party that, then and still to this day, that it was the ABSOLUTE BEST cocktail hour they have EVER been to!!! And I am talking people who have been to many, many high class weddings.
Then came the big reveal for the ballroom. Mike and I saw it first and it looked AMAZING!!!! The centerpieces were just gorgeous!! We worked with Maddy at Sptiz and Peck and she did exactly what I wanted with the 2 different centerpieces and all white and ivory flowers…tons of candles!! We had a few issues with the Spitz & Peck the week and day of the wedding, which was a little stressful, but I have to say the end product was AMAZING!!! So anyway, we took some pictures and they showed us our cake. OMG- let me tell you…it was PERFECT!!!! I brought in a magazine clipping and asked them to make my cake look like it and they did…to the T!!!!! It was the perfect colors, perfect shapes, had the perfect writing on the cake…it was just AMAZING!!!! The Royalton just surprised me more and more as the day went on with how great of service & what a great product they provide!
Then Mike and I went back up to our suite for 15 minutes to relax and regroup again before our big entrance into the ballroom. Also, a great idea and SO NEEDED because it really is overwhelming that day!!! I fought Mike T on it before the wedding b/c I didn’t think I would want to leave the party, but he said he would leave it up to me, but he almost felt the need to insist that we do it because we are going to need…AND BOY DID WE!!!! He was right on the money with that one…word of advice…TRUST THEM…THEY ARE THE EXPERTS!!!
So once we were in the ballroom Mike and I did our first dance to David Gray’s, “This Years Love”. It was such a great moment…I get chills just thinking about it.
Then the band started and about 95% of our guests were instantaneously up and on the dance floor dancing. IT WAS SHOCKING!!! I have NEVER seen that many people up and dancing so quickly. We did a 1 ½ hour cocktail reception, so I think it really warmed everyone up, got some drinks in their system and made them ready to party!!!! The band was right on the money with the types of songs to sing at different times and kept the flow going all night!!!
The food was TO DIE FOR!!! The portions are restaurant size portions and the quality of the food is really up there!!! We got so many compliments on how great the food and service was. They do not skimp on anything at the Royalton, but they also are not wasteful. At the end of the night my parents were sent home with a car packed full of all the left over food from the night….I have never even heard of such a thing…it was just the icing on the cake when they did that!!!
All the tables were assigned their own servers and they were very diligent in making sure everyone was taken care of. There was no mess when bringing the food out, they were polite and every time our guests’ glasses were empty, the servers would just got get another one and place it on the table…without having to be asked or having to ask what the person was drinking…they just knew!
Then came the dessert. WOW! It was scrumptious!!! Mike and I went in before everyone else and saw everything and got to taste the dessert…there was just so much to chose from!! There was also a fun cordial section that had little chocolate shot glasses…people definitely enjoyed that…including myself!!!
Then came the shots….there were many had by all. Normally bartenders get annoyed when you ordere lots of shots, but they didn’t. They just poured up whatever people asked for and were great!!! We could not have had better bartenders!!!
OK…well now that I wrote a novel…I think I will sum it all up with this…
I could not have picked anything or anyone more perfect for my wedding!!! My best choice, besides my husband of course, was definitely the Royalton. It was just so unlike any wedding I have ever been to and I felt truly special and unique!! Having it there managed to make my 230 person wedding still feel quaint, intimate, eloquent and comfortable… just as I wanted!! I would not have changed a single thing!!

Jessica,We were all set to book the Royalton, but then my mom heard some not so great things about the food from one of the guests last weekend. What are your thoughts?
Thanks.

Re: BEST WEDDING EVER- LOVED THE ROYALTON!!!
Kerry,Let me just say, not that I'm too biased, that the Royalton's food is unbelievable!!! Check out jbean36251 on 'royalton brides' search. Any person who has ever attended a wedding at the Royalton has raved about the food and service beyond the beauiful place itself! Ask about a tasting, which they will gladly do for you, you'll love it! What you taste is what you're guests get( unlike some places) !
Trust me the food there is so much better to other places in their price range. Maybe your friend didn't like the choices they chose for their menu, but the quality and selection is second to none!
Good luck, ita great choice!
