well, i never thought id do a review..i didnt post TOO much in the 3 years or so that ive been a member until the last few months...in those few months it was the people who did reviews that made me keep looking on here...all their final projects put to work on their special day...so i decided to do the same..i dont have many pics on here yet...when i get my pro pics i will add them..but for now this is what i have, so enjoy ;)


Westbury Manor A++++

First of all i want to say, that we went to about 20 different halls all over long island...we even booked a hall (i wont say which) and gave them almost 7k when my mother got very sick with cancer, we had to cancel the wedding temporarily and also before realizing we didnt ever really love it there, so we cancelled our contract, and started the search again...Westbury Manor from start to finish was the most amazing place we'd ever been to..Ive been to first class weddings in manhattan, ive been to connecticut weddings...all beautiful,,,i wanted intimate, romantic, old world and traditional...this place was exactly that...
most other 'older' mansions i went to, were indeed...old...door knobs were falling off, they smelled musty, the floors were the same floors that were installed 150 years ago...thats great for a national monument, but not for my wedding...i wanted something refurbished, beautifully new looking, but in an older style...our hall provided just that...at a very comfortable price, with things i could add if i wanted to, but without any pressure to add a thing, because they gave us so much to begin with...
Our Banquet Manager was a woman who we actually became so close with that she attended our wedding as a guest...She was very professional throughout our entire process, she knew exactly what kind of event we were going for, and was as excited as i was to watch all of these plans come to life..she was there from the very first time i walked in, until the very end, even when she was no longer a banquet manager but was put into another roll at the facility...she still insisted upon being there to help us through until we were finished...thank you Maureen ;)
our maitre d and bridal attendant were amazing...both women paid severe attention to detail, they were there to hold my flowers, to bustle my dress..even when my limo didnt pick us up (another story that ill get to) they sat with us till way after 1am (my wedding ended at 11:30pm) to wait for a different limo to come get us...
the food..i cant even begin to describe the food there...if youre looking to book there, go to dinner there at their resturant...you will not want to walk in to any other place after that!!
the portions were fabulous, we had 7 choices to offer our guests, our dessert hour was incredible, we pretty much had a viennesse without paying for one because of all they offered...the only thing we added to our entire contract were the chocolate fountain, and the martini bar at the CH...
EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT...

Dress: Jasmine couture/Alta Moda: A

I bought a dress about a year and a half ago, and decided in June that not only did i hate the boutique i was dealing with, but the dress was SO NOT ME...i decided one day driving home from work that i would go into a bridal store ALONE (can u imagine? lol) and form my own opinion, try on my own dream, instead of what everyone else wanted to see me in...
i went to bridal suite of bayshore, and they were very helpful (although i ended up buying my dress elsewhere)...i tried on about 5 dresses that afternoon...i fell in love with the last one, called my mother, told her i didnt care if i lost all the money i put into the other dress, and began researching where i could find this new dress alil cheaper..
i ended up at the salon my mother bought her gown at..Alta Moda...Josephine and Kimberly were amazing...not only extremely talented (my dress came with spaghetti straps and i wanted something alil different so they made gorgeous 3/4 sleeves for my dress with Reem Acra beading on them)...the price was lower then anywhere else i went...and as you can see how gorgeous my mothers dress is, needless to say, we were both insanely happy...the only reason i dont give this store an A+ is because i was not able to keep my gown there until the very end, because they dont have the room, it is not a bridal salon so it is not equipped like one...this was very inconvenient for me, but i dealt, and it was worth it, i loved my dress!!

Hair and Makeup..Majestic Salon A++++++

I am soooo picky when it comes to my hair...i bought a hair piece because my hair is on the long and thin side, so it tends to get stringy, and i wanted a very romantic soft look for the wedding..and definately something alil 'different'...
Christine P did my hair, and let me tell you something, it was INSANE...she is the most talented young girl ive EVER met in this field...ive been to a ton of hair dressers, i will NEVER let anyone else touch my hair again...she is so young and beautiful inside and out, and she is very talented, has wonderful ideas, and put me at ease immediately..she was patient and made me feel very comfortable, i would recommend her to anyone, for ANYTHING...
Jimmy did my make up, and what an artistic thing this guy is...he is amazing, he takes his time, and almost made me late lol, but he was wonderful, and my make up was exactly what i wanted...very dramatic, and very beautiful...
in general this salon is exceptional..i had my girls there with me for the start of my bachelor/bachelorette party, we all had massages facials and pedis..they were great..they fed us, gave us cappucinos to drink, and they were so unsnobby and VERY friendly..this salon is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

St Josephs RC Church Babylon..cant rate a church

cant rate a church but if i could, it would be an A+++
we love our priest, Father Rich was actually transferred out of our parish a few months before our wedding and we were so upset, but as soon as we found out he came over to Paul and I at mass and told us not to worry because he would return to do our nuptual mass...we were so happy...he gave us the most meaningful mass we ever couldve imagined, and it was so meanging ful to us because it was given to us by a priest who knows both paul and i very well...thank you Fr RICH ;)

Flowers- JC Floral and Event decorators..A++++
the owner of this company is a very close friend from my childhood...she is an incredibly talented young woman, who has a vision and gets to it no matter what...she worked within my budget and obviously added a ton of work since we are friends, and i bothered her endlessly..i changed my colors so many times i cant remember, which was easy since my bridesmaids dresses were so neutral...she just kept yessing me and basically knew what she was going to do anyway lol...everything she does turns to gold...my wedding looked like i spent triple what i spent on flowers...as you can see from my bouquet, these were not chincy flowers, and nothing was done in any other way then what she would have it at her own wedding...
please FM me for her info if youre interested, her quality of work is unmatched, and her talent and creativity is unbeatable!!

Alexis Limousines...D

This company should get an 'F' and the only reason im not giving them that is because the owner of the company rectified our problem as best he could after the fact..and thats all u can do, is hope that it can be fixed somehow after...
we picked this limo company because they were the only ones who went out of their way to find the exact car i wanted..i wanted an older model BLACK rolls royce..they searched for 2 hours with us in the office to get this car from another company...
in the time that i booked it to right before my wedding, people were getting fired, no one i spoke to any time i called even worked there the next time id call...we used them with no problems for our bachelor bachelorette party in august, and even though i had some reservations, they were paid in full, and what was i to do but trust that theyd pull it off somehow for me?
well,
the week of the wedding, when i called to confirm, they had all of my pick ups wrong..all of my times wrong..they sent me the wrong corrections on the contract 3 times..
i knew id have a problem on the day of...and boy did i..
my black antique limo that i had to have so badly, died in the middle of the street right in front of the church after the ceremony..i made it to the hall 45 minutes late, which , made us miss our entire cocktail hour..which made us VERY UPSET!!..
then as if that werent enough, at the end of the nite, they NEVER SHOWED UP TO PICK US UP!! lol i can laugh about it now, but it wasnt funny...like i said the owner was very apologetic and he returned some of our money..
anywayyyy ;)

Garden City Hotel B+

i have to say, i was very excited to stay here...i thought it was beautiful, but to be honest, its quiet over rated i think,,,the room was nice, ive been in nicer, and for the money we paid, i just cant imagine that a few hours which is all it really amounts to, is worth it...i woulda been happy coming home lol ;)

Parties Alive A-

i was recommended to Richie from this company by a childhood friend of mine who is in the business, but was actually booked the day of my affair...we thought we were all on the same page, everytime we met with him...i felt a little differently at some points of the wedding...some of the music we wondered where the hell he pulled it out of lol...but he did in fact make a turn around of the party and got everyone off their seats,,,sunday nite weddings are a tough crowd!!

Riesterers Bakery A+++

omg, first of all i want to thank a bride on here i think her name is anita her screen name is Vita (or along those lines)...i took her cake picture with me to the bakery after being very uspet by the bakery that westbury manor uses...
and i said to the girl 'this is my dream cake, and i want it with red velvet inside, but im sure i cant afford it, can you tell me if this is possible?'...
jennifer kind of laughed at me, ANYTHING is possible at this bakery...she made me the MOST DELICIOUS wedding cake ANYONE had ever tasted...i had red velvet inside with vanilla custard and fresh strawberries, it was SOOOO different!!

As you can see she also made our adorable Rehersal Dinner cake, my husband is a huge mets fan, so we had to get something along his lines ;)


Perceptions Photgraphy/Videography A++++++++++
This was by far one of my favorite vendors to deal with...Anthony Vasquez and his entire team are creative, fun, professional, WONDERFULLY talented people...we had Geraldine shoot our wedding, we felt very close and comfortable with her immediately, i havent seen my proofs yet, but i am so positive they are beautiful, we were sooo on the same page for mostly EVERY single shot she took...she even made a very frantic bride who wanted pics of her broken down limo calm down, and get right on the limo in the middle of the street pretty much lol...
she was wonderful..and so is the whole staff there...our videographer was a very nice woman who was unobtrusive, and veryyy nice to work with,...they are HIGHLY recommended by me, and i will do more of a review on them when i get my proofs back!!

im sure i left out alot but im still lil jet lagged from my honeymoon, which i will write all about and put up pics this week, i promise!!!
thank you LIW for giving me this site to come to to make my dream wedding a reality!!
also a special thanks to kityythestray, she made my beautiful card box!! while i stood there blonde and helpless, she glued away and made this absolutely beautiful creation!!
