Finally, my 6/27 wedding review! (repost from BHB) now with pics!

Hi Gals-
Life has been so hectic that I've had no time to post this review. I'm finally going to try and do it now.

East Meadow Jewish Center: A+: I LOVED everything that EMJC did. The food was excellent - there was so much at the cocktail hour, and the bridal attendant brought a little bit of almost everything into the bridal suite for me and Brad to taste. What I tasted was delicious, although I didn't eat much. Shawn kept everything running completely smoothly. They offered seconds on entrees to my guests, which I know people appreciated. The viennese was amazing as well. There were even brownies that said 'Jackie and Brad'!

Scott Evans Music and Entertainment: A+: As always, Scott did a wonderful job. His band also played my Bat Mitzvah and my sister's wedding, so he's like part of the family at this point. Everyone was up and dancing all night. For you Jewish brides, he does an amazing hora - you've never seen such a crowded dance floor! **The best part** He managed to keep it a secret from me that Brad was going to sing to me. He sang 'She's Got a Way' by Billy Joel. It was wonderful and I was bawling!

JoVon photography/video: I don't have either yet, so I can't give a real rating, but so far, I am somewhat unhappy. As I posted before my wedding, my photographer had a family illness and could not be at my wedding. Instead, they sent 2 head photographers. Now, on my wedding day, the southern state parkway was closed b/c of an accident, so I was an hour late for my photos, as I was coming from Staten Island. When I arrived, somewhat frazzled, the photographers, especially the male, were rushing me to get ready, and seemed annoyed that I was late. I did not particularly like the male photographer, who was the one taking the more traditional photos. He was somewhat rude and pushy. I know he was feeling rushed, but so was I! Some of my guests commented that they found him obnoxious. The female photojournalist was nice, just a bit strange. I just hope the photos come out beautiful. I should be getting them next week sometime, I hope!

Colonial Florist: A-: I loved working with Claudio, but he talks so fast and says so much that he forgets what he said, and he made a few mistakes in my flowers. The chuppah was not exactly what I wanted, nor were the centerpieces. The mistakes were minor, and everyone raved about how gorgeous the centerpieces were. It honestly didn't bother me that much - I was getting married!

Macys Bridal Salon in Wayne, NJ: A+ I know most of you LI brides won't be heading to North Jersey, but I had a wonderful experience there. My dress came in without any problems, was altered perfectly and looked beautiful.

Lestans: F: Without going into too much detail, my bridesmaids all had a terrible time there. Their alterations were terrible, they lied to both me and my BMs, etc...if you want more details, FM me.

Okay, I think I covered all the main points! All in all, we had an AMAZING wedding day!

Congrats!!

I am using Macy's in Wayne too (FH and I live in NJ). Other than it seeming like forever to get a swatch in they've been very nice - glad to hear you had a good experience.

Congratulations!! Sorry to hear your photographers weren't on their best behavior... but I've seen their work, it's beautiful so I can't wait to see your pics!

Mazel Tov on your recent wedding!! your pictures are beautiful!!! ...I have a question regarding a post u submitted saying that you had a modified bedeken (sp). That sounds like something I would be interested in. Can you tell me more??
