Finally! Our October 1st Wedding Review with lots of Pictures

Here is the link to the pictures I scanned. I have over 800 pictures and I scanned about a 100. I had a hard time figuring out which ones I wanted to share, because I loved them all.

Also, I tried to keep them in order of events, but that didn't work out too well, because I started adding more pictures at the end that I wanted to share.

Tara & Phil's Wedding Proofs

Day of Coordinator - Laura from LA Productions – A++++++
(Invitations, Votive Placecards, Polaroid Guest Book, Day of Coordinator)

Okay, Laura is truly the BEST!!!!. I can’t say enough about this woman. She went above and beyond for me. She truly did and I consider her a good friend.

She met with Phil and me and worked out every detail. She gave us awesome ideas to personalize our wedding ex: the votive placecards (I got so many compliments on these), the poloraid guestbook (which I love and cherish, I look at it every day).

Day of my Wedding – Laura handled everything!!!

From giving directions to my lost photographers on the phone to making my bed and putting rose petals all over my bed for Phil and I. She was the person who helped me put my dress on, she made mimosas for us at my house, she calmed Phil down on the phone when we were running late, she made sure I ate throughout the day, she and her assistants (Maria and Gina) made sure everything at the hall was set up to my specifications from the menus to the candles and rose petals on the fireplace to our collage of pictures.

They handle the Polaroid guestbook, which I now cherish. Laura touched up my make-up right before the ceremony and sent me down aisle. I hope every bride can have someone like Laura at their side. If you haven’t met with Laura, I suggest calling her and making an appointment.

Makeup Artist - Jacqueline Nicole – A+++++++
What can I say that hasn’t been said about Jacqueline!?? I loved my makeup! I wish I could have her do my makeup everyday!!! I loved the makeup she did on my mom and 3 of BMs.

I received so many compliments about my makeup. My friend Janel, said she had never seen my eyes so blue. She did fake lashes on me and I totally suggest anyone who is using JN to have her do fake lashes on you.

She is now the only person who I will allow to shape my eyebrows, plus it gives me an excuse to go see her on a regular basis. She is a talented makeup artist, in my opinion the best, but also an amazing person.

Hair - Taralei - A+++++++
I loved my hair. She and her assistant did an amazing job on me, my Mom, my MOH and my 4 BMs. I paid for the hair so I wanted them to be happy with their hair and I wanted their hair to be perfect. She and her assistant arrived at my house at 6:30 am.

We ran late but they pulled it off. Taralei is an amazing hairstylist and a very sweet person. I wish she was still working at a salon, because I really want her to be my hairstylist.

Dance Lessons – Kristen from Remember When Studio in St. James A+++++
Phil and I love Kristen. We went once a week from the beginning of June to the week before our wedding. We had so much fun with her and learning how to dance to our song. She is talented and so sweet. She is an excellent teacher and patience is most definitely her virtue. We consider her our friend. We want to continue dance lessons with her in the future.

Joe, the owner of Remember When is also a really nice person. He was so personable to us and always greeted us even when he was with clients.

Personal Flowers – John and his Staff from Flower Michele A++++++
We got our personal flowers from John (my bouquet, all BMs bouquets, the corsages, and the bouts) and I LOVED my flowers. They were so amazing!! I kept saying all day how much I loved my bouquet. Check out my pictures, how beautiful are my flowers!!!!???

John and his staff were a pleasure to work with and I recommend him to all future brides.

M&F Florist – Centerpieces and Decorating the Cake – A big fat F!!!!
I took the centerpieces that came with the package. Not impressed at all. They also decorated the cake and we paid extra for that.

I hated the way they decorated the cake. I specially told them and gave them a picture of what I wanted. I told them no green!! I just wanted roses but with no green. I didn’t get that!!! I really think my reception hall should change house florists.

That leads me to Audrey’s, the bakery. – Another big fat F!!!!!
What a DISAPPOINTMENT! I was supposed to have a 4 tier cake, it was in my contract and the literature from the reception hall stated a 4 tier cake.

On the day of my wedding it was a 3 tier cake. I was so mad.

We had 100 people at the wedding. My friend had her wedding at TP a month later and had a 100 people at her wedding and she had a 4 tier cake by the same bakery.

I don’t recommend this bakery and I will not be using them in the future for any special events. I will not be recommending Audrey’s to any of my friends who are getting married.

DJ - Glenn from WPJG Productions – A
He did a good job. My only compliant is he never got back in touch with Laura. He was supposed to fax our protocol for the ceremony and introductions, so she could have a copy on hand.

Serenity Limos – A+
They did a great job. The limos were clean and stocked with the Diet Pepsi I requested. That made me very happy, I am addicted to Diet Pepsi.

My limo driver was so thoughtful and helpful. Laura was really pleased with my driver. She said that my limo driver pulled over for her when he didn’t see her in his rear view mirror. I think his name was Joe, I really need to call and find out and thank him. He was a really nice man.

The guys loved their driver too. From what I heard they had a lot of fun. I recommend Serenity Limos to future brides and grooms.

Photography and Video - Duet – Alberto, Jay and Eric – A+++++++

I wasn’t too pleased with my Casual Day pictures. So, I wrote a list of my concerns and my must have pictures and we met with Eric to discuss my concerns. He assured me that he understood the style we want. He assured us he will be there to direct and to make sure we get the pictures that we want and the style that we want.

On our wedding day Eric, Alberto, and Jay did an amazing job. They were respectful and took a ton of pictures.

I have over 800 pictures and I LOVE THEM!!!!! They did an amazing job!!! I am having a hard time picking out my Thank You picture and deciding which ones to scan to show you all. I can just imagine how hard it is going to be to pick out pictures for our album.

I can’t wait for the video. What I did realize was how much you miss of your wedding day. You don’t see your bridal party walking down the aisle or being introduced. So I am anxious to see what I missed.

Ceremony/Reception - Timber Point Country Club - I gave them 2 separate ratings.

Prior to the Wedding – B-
A couple of things really annoyed me about dealing with them.

They messed up one of my payments. I made a payment and apparently it wasn’t processed, so a couple months later they processed it. I didn’t notice that the payment wasn’t processed because the credit card I used for the entire wedding was a debit card that would draw money from our wedding account. So, because of that I thought I had more $$$ in the account to use for the wedding.

Also, they wouldn’t give us the chocolate fountain for $3.00 per person. I refuse to pay more $$ for a service that I know they charged other brides and grooms $3 per person. So we did without the fountain. :(

Day of the Wedding - A
The day of my wedding was amazing! I had the best weather, it was a perfect day. The ceremony outside was a dream. The cocktail hour outside was beautiful.

I asked the majority of my guests how the service and food was and everyone said good things and was pleased, so that made Phil and I very happy.

From our perspective everything was AMAZING!!! Steve was on top of everything. He made sure Phil and I both had a drink in our hand at all times.

During my cocktail hour I walk in about ½ hour into the cocktail hour. I was starving, but didn’t know what to do. I knew if I went and got food, it would end up on my dress. So, I went a sat with friends and chatted. Steve brought me over 3 plates of food. Exactly what I needed!!! I sat with my friends and enjoyed the view and stuffed my face with fried calamari, manicotti, a chicken dish etc… Then he got me a drink, which I needed!!!

He runs his crew tightly, but I was happy about that. He handled a table mix-up tactfully. He had everything under control.

We were overcharged for the vendor meals, but are in the process of being reimbursed. We pointed out the mistake the following day (October 2) and Timberpoint is crediting our credit card.

My Wedding Dress – Paradise Bridals – A-
The saleswoman, Donna was very helpful. I liked her.

The seamstress, Rosalie, was a doll. My only compliant was my dress was a little to long when I wore my dance shoes to dance our first dance. Other than that, she did a beautiful job. I loved my dress and wish I could wear it again.

Veil – http://www.veilshop.com A+
I searched for a veil for months. I didn’t want anything to puffy. I wanted something sheer that sparkled. I found that on veilshop.com. I ordered a drop veil with crystal and rhinestones. The first one that sent me I was unhappy with, I wanted more crystals and rhinestones. So I sent an email and Rebecca called me an hour later. I sent it back and they add more crystals and rhinestones. I loved it!!!

BM Dress – David’s Bridal – A
We just ordered them from this store in 4 different states. All the dresses came in fine. The girls got them altered elsewhere.

Hawaii – Honeymoon - A++++++
This was a trip of a lifetime. I am so happy we went to Hawaii!!!! I’ll add more about Hawaii later.

Have you talked to them about their error? They owe you a tier.
My cake was the wrong flavor and I am getting a new top piece out of it (not Audrey's)

I left a message at Audrey's stating how unhappy and disappointed I was. Haven't heard back from them. But honestly, what can they do? They had one time to get it right and didn't.

Congrats. Sorry to hear about the cake problems. I have used Audrey's before and they always seem to mess up the cakes we order. But their end-product is delicious.

Awww....Tara, how gorgeous!!! I'm all teary-eyed. It looked like you had a perfect day. We also had Jay and Alberto and now I'm even more excited to see our proofs. I know the cake wasn't what YOU wanted, but it was pretty. I'm so happy that all else turned out wonderful for you.
