*FLOWER MICHELE UPDATE ON TOP!! My July 28th Wedding Reiview - 12th Night, Timeless Treasures, Sir Oliver, Flower Michele, and more...

**Flower Michele update - Well I'm sorry to say that it took until 2 DAYS AGO to get my refund check from John for the flowers that were NEVER delivered to the church! We were supposed to receive it a month ago! My mom called twice and I e-mailed!!! John wouldn't even get on the phone with my mom when she called last week looking for the check that was already a month past when we should have had it! He had the woman who answered the phone tell her it would be here this week!! Luckily, it FINALLY came!! I said it before and I'll say it again they were the 1 vendor I wasn't worried about and they were THE BIGGEST disappointment on my wedding day and the way they handled their mistake was terrible!!

I have to start by thanking all of the LIW girls! A lot of the vendors I used and special touches I added were thanks to some of you and I am very grateful! Our day was absolutely THE BEST DAY of our lives!

**Please read this even though there are no pics yet because I used a lot of LIW popular vendors that have reviews I didn't expect to be giving. I know I sometimes scroll for pics and don't read it if they're not there (hopefully I'm not the only one or I'll feel like an idiot). I will add pics when I get my proofs!

On to the review...

First things first - Mother Nature was on the 7/28 girls' side on our wedding day because it was supposed to thunderstorm ALL DAY!! This was the forecast for the whole week until the morning of. It was a gorgeous sunny and not too humid day! The weather was perfect!

12th Night Photo A+++++(no proofs yet though-this rating is for day of only)
We had Dominic and Geraldine and a guy who's name I can't remember who I think was training but was a bonus photographer for us! Dom and Geraldine arrived on time everywhere. Dominic arrived at my house with a smile and started cracking jokes and making us all relax right away! My parents were a little worried about this vendor because they were so far from home and they hadn't heard of them. At the end of the night both of my parents were RAVING about them! They were professional, funny, inconspicuous, and very relaxed!! We had so much fun and I can not wait to see our proofs!! They were outstanding - not one negative!
**I have to add that Dominic even helped my mom and aunt put on my veil at my house and bustle me before the reception!! He went FAR ABOVE and beyond what he was supposed to do! Geraldine is a doll as well and did an awesome job at the reception and got all of our must takes!!

Timeless Treasures A+++++(based on only day of)
Ray arrived on time at my house and Glen at DHs. Ray started filming as soon as he walked in the door. He was so laid back and sweet! We hardly even noticed that either of them was there because they were so unobtrusive! Both videographers were constantly shooting from all different angles, at one point our groomsmen were laughing because one of them was in the woods bearly visible in order to get a good shot! There is not one negative thing I can say about them, they were awesome!

Flower Michele C+
I know they have a great reputation on here, but there were a few things that disappointed me. Good thing first-Our CPs were ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!! I couldn't stop staring at how elegant and beautiful they were!
Not so good things - Mine and the girls BoK's were delivered on a hot day in the back of a Hyundai from Garden City to Port Jefferson (50 minute drive)!!! Needless to say they were pretty wilted when they arrived.This was even more apparent when DH sent me flowers at the house and they made the BoKs look dead because they were so hardy! I had changed the color of the girl's BoKs about a month before the wedding and they showed up the original color. This wasn't a huge deal, but if I had changed my color scheme it would've been worse. THIS IS THE WORST PART!!! THEY NEVER DELIVERED OUR FLOWERS TO THE CHURCH!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't notice the day of, thank God, and my grandmother said 'I wish you would've ordered flowers for the church.' I was like 'WHAT!!' I looked at our non-pro pics NO FLOWERS AT THE CHURCH!!!! This is what pushed me over the edge! John was very nice during planning, but I was VERY disappointed with most of the flowers on the day of!

Sir Oliver B+
We had the Rolls Royce and a 14 passenger Excursion.
I had requested Joe when I booked about a year ago because of the reviews I heard on here. On the day of NO JOE however we did have Phil who was an OUT OF THIS WORLD SWEETIE!! This got me over the slip up, but it still was a big mistake! Phil helped my dad calm his nerves before the ceremony, helped tuck me in and pull me out of the Rolls Royce everytime and was such a nice gentleman. The limo driver that picked up DH arrived 15 MINUTES LATE!! This really annoyed me because that made some guests arrive before the ushers could walk them down the aisle and give them programs! She was also not so nice to the BP when they requested her to stop somewhere even after we said it was fine.

Tommy's Tunes A+
We had a DJ and an MC and Gene Santini (Sinatra singer). Our MC was Joe E. and he was terrific! He got the crowd going in the beginning, but after that everyone was dancing and we didn't even need him to reel them in! Our DJ was Mark and he was awesome!!! He played all the right things to keep the party going! I didn't sit once and DH who never ever dances danced for most of the night! Our dance floor was packed at all times! Gene Santini was great, for the few songs he sang. We were a little disappointed in the small amount that he sang.

My Gown - Macy's Bridal Smithhaven Mall
--------Customer Service F
--------Alterations B+
The customer service in this store was ATROCIOUS (sp?)!!!! When I went for my first fitting the girl dropped my dress in a room and told me where to go and that was it!!! I had to call my mom to help me snap my bra and get into the dress! When we complained she said she thought the seamstress would be in....well you might want to communicate that with me or the seamstress!!! Then I ordered my veil with a blusher. The veil arrived and I picked it up for a hair trial. I tried it on and there was NO BLUSHER!!! When I first tried this veil on in the store they showed me where the blusher would fall in front of my dress and recommended getting one so I did. This happened 2 weeks before my wedding!! So I called and they said the veil I ordered doesn't come with a blusher and I would have to special order it and it would take up to 2 months!! Obviously that wouldn't work! I was crying and screaming on the phone so they told me to come in. When my mom and I arrived and started to explain who we were the manager we spoke to was like 'what...who are you?' My mom was like you've got to be kidding me!! Then 15 minutes later she remembered!! They ended up making me a blusher there.
Josephine did my alterations and did a very good job, except that they didn't let me try it on on the day I picked it up and apparently I had lost weight because it was a little big on the day of my wedding!! All in all she was very sweet and nice to work with!

BM dresses - Fantasia Bridal
-------Customer Service A
-------Alterations B/A
All of the alterations were good except for my MOHs who was my mom. They did a TERRIBLE job and couldn't fix their mistakes! She had about 4 or 5 fittings and I know she wasn't even happy with them when she picked it up! They did a job I could've done and didn't reimburse her one cent!

Tuxes - Roger's Tuxedos A
Make sure ur guys try on their tuxes before they leave the store no matter where they get them! Roger's makes the guys do this and it's a good thing because a few were not right. The tuxes looked great and they were of good quality except for my dad's whose button fell off before the cocktail hour, but overall, they did a great job!

Hair - Denise Venti A+
Denise Arrived at my house early and was ready to go! She was so sweet! I had gone for 2 trials and both times we couldn't get the exact poof I wanted but on my wedding ........ it was PERFECT!!!! Denise did an awesome job and is such a perfectionist which was a great thing!! My hair stayed in place the whole day! SHe also did my mom and aunt's hair and they looked great too!

Makeup - Jacqueline Nicole A+++++
WOW is all I can say! My makeup was FLAWLESS! At the end of the reception after sweating, crying, dancing all night, it looked like I had just applied it! Jacqueline arrived on time and was sooo sweet! I highly recommend getting airbrush! It feels like you're wearing nothing and it lasted through everything throughout the day!

E-Party Invites, Shower Invites, Wedding Invites, Menus, Programs - And I Quote A+++++
Everything went very smoothly with this vendor! The proof for the programs arrived completely wrong only about a week before the wedding and I was very nervous! When I spoke to the owner she tried to call the company that made them and they were closed so she brought the info home with her and called on her day off just to be sure that they would be here on time and correct!! Everything was beautiful as always from And I Quote!

GIORGIO'S A+++++
Giorgio's was fabulous in every way! We had a long gap in between the church and the CH so we got dropped off at the beach behind Giorgio's. When we finished taking pics. there we called and George Junior came riding up in the 'golf cart limo' with a huge smile on his face!! It was the coolest thing and it fit 5 of us at a time and was fun! The food was OUTRAGEOUS!! We are still hearing about it! The service was terrific, especially Jaime, our Maitre D. He was so accomodating to anything we needed and kept us up to date on everything that was going on! He made us feel like royalty! Our Bridal Attendant was not so great, she wasn't bad, just inexperienced. She wasn't on us for drinks and things as much as I thought She should have been. She was very young also which probably didn't help because I don't think she was as comfortable coming up to us semi-often (more than twice the whole night) to ask if we needed anything. Thank goodness for Jaime because he did his own thing and hers too! The grounds were beautiful along with the inside of the hall. The place looked gorgeous and I just love the fact that it is run by a family! They were all there on our night working to make sure everything was perfect!

Favors - Daily News & Bagels A+++++
This was such a hit!!! We had the Daily News with our picture on the front cover and our personal headline along with a caption describing our wedding day. Each guest also took home a bag of bagels! Everyone loved this, especially because it was the newspaper for the next day, so it wasn't old news! It was a nice and different gift that everyone will remember and not throw in a drawer somewhere and never use again!!

*****I don't know how but I forgot La Bon Boulangeire for our AMAZING cake!! A+++++
Our cake was INSANE!!! It was tiffany blue with white scrolls and a white bow on top in fondant. It was gorgeous and absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this bakery!

Honeymoon Hawaii (Maui & Kauai)
Grand Hyatt Kauai A+++++
Hyatt Regency Maui A

Kauai - We LOVED the Hyatt on Kauai!!! There were a few pools, a lagoon which was like a small man made beach that you could kanoo in, hot tubs, and a water slide!! There was always a seat by the pool also (which I can't say about the Hyatt on Maui). The staff was so nice and always accomodating. The staff at The Hyatt Maui even told us that the Hyatt Kauai is where they go to relax!! Kauai was our favorite of the two islands. It was more laid back, relaxing, and it just felt more like an island if that makes sense. The island itself was soooo beautiful! There was ocean on one side and mountains on the other! I felt like I was in a picture! The best restaurants we ate at were 'Dondero's' at the Hyatt and 'The Beach House' in Poipu. Yum yum yum!! Dinners are delicious, but expensive! Don't miss the Napali Coast tour we did it in a zodiac raft and it was so fun!
*****DON'T WEAR UR RINGS SNORKLING OR DOING ANY OTHER WATER ACTIVITY!! My wedding band fell of when snorkling 30 feet down!!!! I was hysterical, luckily DH held it together and got a sweet Hawaiian guy who was able to dive down and find it!! He said a lot of people lose them and aren't able to find them so leave them in the room to be safe! I was very fortunate!

Maui - The Hyatt on Maui was great, but not as good as the one on Kauai. We had to throw towels on chairs at 8 in the morning just to be sure we would have one when we went to the pool later in the day! Even when we did that, they were sometimes moved because there's a rule that if unattended it can be taken! It was overcrowded! The service wasn't that great either. We asked for a 2 hour late checkout and they wouldn't budge or even act like they were trying to accomodate us. Overall the room was beautiful and the pools were nice, when we could get a seat! We got lomi lomi massages overlooking the beach and they were insanely awesome!! The best restaurant on Maui for us hands down was 'The Pineapple Grill' it was soooo delicious! If you go you have to get the pineapple upsidedown cake it is sooo yummy! This island was a little more commercial, but that meant there was a little more to do whcih was good. Haliakila is a must see. I hated getting up at 2 in the morning to see the sunrise but it was sooo worth it! DH also biked down the volcano!! I wimped out and rode in the van but he loved it!!

I will add pics when I get my proofs!!

Congrats. So sorry to hear about your flower problem. I was totally disspointed in my florist as well. (They are a different LIW vendor). I'm sure your proofs will be amazing. I'm a 12th Night Bride also.
