July 4, 2009 Westbury Manor, Bravura, *****, Camelot, Flower Barn

We were married on Saturday, July 4th. This is my review:

The Weather: A+++++ We could not have asked for a more perfect day. I was so scared because it had rained so much in June but the day was beautiful!

Westbury Manor: A-

I knew that I wanted a catering hall that had history and that was not full of mirrors and granite. From the second I walked into the Westbury Manor I knew that it was the place for us!
The day we brought all of our favors and other wedding items to the hall it was raining cats and dogs! The workers all came out and got soaked to help us carry everything in.
The day of the wedding everyone was amazing. The bridal attendant was so sweet and always made sure that we had everything I needed. Our matradee was also very helpful and she was great at getting everyone in order and making sure everything went as planned.
We got married on the grounds and everything was set up so beautifully. They arranged all the outdoor flowers and decor. It was like a dream come true since I always wanted to get married in a garden.
The only reason why I gave it an A- and not an A+ was because before the wedding I need to call a few times to double check things or to change things ... and I felt like I was annoying them or being a bother. I hated calling to ask a question or to change something ... I did not feel comfortable calling and that made me a bit upset. HOWEVER they did an amazing job. Everyone said great things about the wedding and were calling our parents all weekend long to tell them how fabulous everything was.

Flower Barn: A+

When I first went in just to check them out, John gave me a rose and told me not to put it in water and to see how long it lasted. From that point on, I knew this was the florist for me! They did a great job. The flowers were perfect and I could not have asked for a better florist. Plus, he gave me the best price around.

Bravura Entertainment: A

They did an amazing job at our ceremony. Before the ceremony started they played beautiful classical music just like we asked. Also, we had two friends sing during the candle ceremony and they set everything up for us.
They played music throughout the cocktail hour which was great.
It was high energy which we loved. We were scared that because we were getting married during the day that people would not dance and party ... but boy did everyone dance and party! We loved our MC. We also had a percussionist who came out on the dance floor and let me play his drum. It was a lot of fun! Also, we had their keyboard/singer. All I can say about him is WOW ... I am so glad we booked him! He sang while the food was being served and also the song my husband and his mother danced to. I can't say enough about his amazing voice!
My only issue with them, we really didn't really care for the music they picked at the end of our wedding when everyone was leaving while we were saying good bye to people. It was kind of loud annoying dirty dance music ... but no one was dancing because they were trying to leave. It was just kind of awkward. But this was for a short amount of time and then they started playing normal relaxed good bye music so I really shouldn't complain! They did a great job.

Camelot Limo - A+

We had two limos ... one came to my house and one went to my husbands house. They were both on time and the drivers were really nice guys. They did a great job.

Shear Dimensions in Valley Stream: A+

She opened shop just for us on a holiday. It was amazing to have the place to ourselves. I brought the picture of what i wanted to a trial and she got it the first time. She did a great job and my pin straight hair lasted ALLL day and night.

Also, my cousin is a makeup artist and she came to the salon and set up shop. She did a great job. She usually works out of Bangz in Bellmore but does stuff on the side as well.

********* Photography and Videography: A+

They did an amazing job. We had a photographer and a photojournalist. I am so glad we had two photographers. One went to my husbands house and one came to my house. Looking at the proofs, its amazing to have a mix of both natural shots and posed shots. I can't say enough great stuff about them! They also did our video and I have only seen our unedited video ... but we love it.

Sew Fine Embroidery - A+
They made my 'Soon to be ...' hoodie and I love it.

DIY: I made my card box out of three size boxes from Home Goods and cut and glued them together. I also had pictures of our parents and grandparents at their weddings.
