Day 1
We took a 5:15pm Monday flight to Tahiti. I gotta say,the 12 hour flight was not as torturous at one would think. The time seem to go by pretty fast. The seats were comfy, food was decent and they had lots of movies playing to keep you busy.

We arrived in Tahiti about 12:30am. There was a shuttle bus waiting to pick us up to go to the Intercontinental. Upon reaching the hotel, which was located not too far from the Airport, we were in awe of the beautiful high thatched wooden ceilings and open air lobby.
We pretty much checked into our room and called it a night.

Day 2
The next day we got up nice and early. The breakfast buffet was delicious! Pancakes, potatoes, eggs, fresh fruit, all sorts of breads, cheeses, and jams and my fav nutella!
Afterward we hung by the pool and enjoyed our surroundings. I want to make a point that Tahiti is not to be treated as a stop over place! We were so glad we were able to enjoy our hotel and the island.

Later that day we booked our dinner at Le Belvedere and a day trip to Moorea. Since it was still early, we hoped on Le Truck and made our way to the Market.

The Market was a lot of fun! It was so interesting to see all of the staple souvenirs of Tahiti. There were fruit vendors and fish vendors, monoi oil /assorted soap vendors, upstairs there were pareo stores, jewelry, wooden carvings. This is def. the place to do your shopping. The prices were great especially compared to the same items sold on other islands.

Dinner
That night we had dinner reservations for Le Belvedere. This is why you cant just fly over Tahiti. The journey to this restaurant is worth the price of dinner alone! A van picked us up and we made our way up a long and winding Mountain. It was so beautiful. It was an excursion in itself. About 35 minutes later we arrived and we were taken back by the stunning views. We were able to catch a sunset and watch all the town lights flicker on down below. Our meal was delicious! We had wine as well as salad that we got to toss ourselves- very fun. I ordered a meat fondue and DH ordered a steak in a wine sauce- both were great!

Day 3
We did a day trip to Moorea. We boarded the Armeti around 8am and arrived in Moorea about 30 minutes later. We did the 4x4 excursion with Alberts Tour. We had soooo much fun! It took us all around the island making stops at various places of interest.
Somewhere in the middle of the tour our guide cut up the sweetest freshest fruit I've ever had in my life. Afterwards we headed to the Pinanpple Distillery where they serve you shot after shot after shot after shot- as many as you want of all the liquors they make on premises. Our last stop was a Pearl shop run by our tour guide's cousin where I had my Pretty Woman moment when John, my hubby, still a little buzzed, said ' Pick anything you want!' And so I picked a pair of pearl earrings. I havent taken them off since!

That concluded the tour and went right across the way to club Bali for lunch. - The best fish burger ever! yum.

Day 4
Bora Bora baby! When you arrive in Bora Bora there are private boats owned by each hotel. We boarded the Bora Bora Pearl and arrived shortly after.
It was cloudy and rainy but hat didnt inhabit a thing! We were in awe of the beauty all around us. We checked in and played around in our room likes kids.
I can not rave enough about the garden pool bungalow. It was spacious and just beautiful and my fav. part was the outdoor shower.

Dinner
Bloody Marys! We loved our meal at Bloody Marys. The entrees were raw and displayed on ice. They all looked so fresh. The atmosphere was fun! The entire floor was covered in sand. We immediately kicked off our shoes and walked barefoot.

Day 5
Weather was perfect!!! We did the aqua safari. We had so much fun on this excursion that we considered booking it again for the next day. You wear these helmets that have air pumped into them which allows you to breathe normally. They also give you a mesh bag with bread to wear around your neck which arracts lots of fish.

There were fish every where! Sting rays and all sorts of colorful fish- all just eating out of your hand. It was a feeding frenzy. I highly reccommend this excursion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 6
Private Motu with Keishi! Expensive but sooooooooooooo worth it! This is a must do on Bora Bora. A beautiful white boat picked us up from the hotel around 10:30am. We were cruising through beautiful turquoise waters! My favorite seat was right up front!
It was just us and the tour guide Pierrot. We stopped at an area to feed the sting rays and the sharks. We were really nervous at first but we got over it eventually. It was still just the three of us till another tour group came around about 15 minutes later. It agitated me a bit but it was time to leave anyway. We then made our way to a coral garden where there were other tour groups. At this point we realised that the 'private' part of the excursion was on the boat and during our picnic- which was the best part.

We made our way to a private motu . It was finally just the three of us again. While our man set up our table in the water and prepared the bbq, we played with the fishes.

We were so impressed!Clothe table cover, clothe napkins, glass plates and glasses,, silverware- the works. Our guide Pierrot crowned us with flowers and unvealed our first course. We had poisson cru- soooooooooooo good!! Dont leave tahiti without trying it! The salad was delicious too. Than we had a course of chicken, lobster, and shrimp kabobs! Delicious! Even my husband, a nonseafood eater, devoured his meal. Then we had steak and mahi mahi followed by a fresh fruit platter all while being seranaded.

I gotta say we were in paradise! At that point we didnt care that we saw other people during the excursions prior to the meal. The whole experience was so worth the money. We were so glad we did it! And we would do it again if we ever went back.

Day7
We played with our hotel resort. We enjoyed the lagoon and the good weather.

Dinner:
Villa Mahana
We were able to sit outside on the terrace- known as the best seat in the house. OMG! It was so beautiful, i cant even begin to describe how privileged we felt. We instantly felt blessed in life. We cheers and toasted to the good life over great wine. Dinner was delicious. We split a salad and both had the steak and cream gnocchi- perfection!

Day 8
Le Tahaa
We took plane to Raiteia and then a private boat to Le Tahaa. When we arrived we were greeted with a drink and wet vanilla scented towels. We were soooooooo impressed by the service and ambience. It was top notch. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. I am so glad that Le Tahaa lived up to its standards. We were not disappointed one bit. The water was just as beautiful as Bora Bora , which I was so happy to see. There were so many streaks of blue and turquoise. The grounds were perfect and the rooms were spacious and luxurious! We hit the jackpot and thank God we saved the best for last.

I must say I read a lot of mixed reviews about Le Tahaa but I dont know what anyone is talking about! thank God we did not cancel based a few bad reviews. If we would have cancelled, we would have missed out on the best part of our trip.
Go!! If you were thinking of booking and you are on the fence due to some bad reviews- just go!!

Dinner
Hotel Resturant- Food was expensive but great!no complaints. The ambience was beautiful!! It was set up in the trees practically.

Day 9
We decided to do the outlander 4x4 excursion. This was a lot of fun as well. We toured the main island of Le Tahaa. We went through jungle terrain. We stopped by a vanilla plantation and learned about how they pollenate the flowers to make the vanilla beans as well as drive through various fruit plantations. We made our way up a mountain with stunning views. Our guide showed us how they break open a coconut and make milk. We drank the coconut water and of course my husband had to make his own pulp and milk.
They also showed us how to tie the pareo, this was fun.
Finally, we went to a pearl farm. This was one of my favorite parts of the trip- they showed us every step that goes into creating a pearl. it was very fascinating and i now have more of an appreciation for pearls. Then we went into the pearl shop where they showed us cases of pearls- soooooooo beautiful. I wish i could take them all home. Of course they showcased jewelry that we could buy but i was happy with my pearl earrings.

Day 10

We did the 3 hour couples spa treatment. We felt like we were in lifestyles of the rich and famous. This was ultimate relaxation. We followed the flower petals to our first room where they gave us a body treatment , wrapped us in banana leaves, and then while on the table a gentle shower washed off the lotion. Then we had a spa break- very nice!! The showed us to another room where the jacuzzi was partially outdoors. We sipped champagne and feasted on sweet and savory snacks. Very delightful. We ended the session with an amazing message that literally put us to sleep.

Dinner
Fire show and bbq
Very nice! The food was delicious! And the dessert table was huge!

Day 11
Our last day in paradise
Thankfully we had about a half day to enjoy the hotel before we headed home.

Well, that concludes the review! Here are a few more pics from Bora Bora and Ta haa.. hope it was helpful!
