I must say the lady’s on LIW are awesome!! Almost all of the ideas and help I received were from you guys, thank you!!

To the future brides please don’t stress out!!! Make sure you are smiling the day of your wedding no matter what happens because you don’t want to be remembered as the scary, crazy, over emotional Bride…Just think about the best part of the whole day, it’s the beginning of the rest of your life with the man you love, your soul mate , your best friend =)

What helped me was Alan and I made a pac that: WE WILL HAVE FUN ON OUR WEDDING DAY…and very happy to say mission accomplished thanks to our loving family and friends and the vendors that really went above and beyond.

Pastor Drew is our Pastor at, At The Cross Christian church, and he did an amazing job. =) It was very personal, we loved the ceremony.

David’s Bridal – B+

My dress, I believe was made for me. When I first got engaged I did a quick search online and It was the first dress I pulled up on their website and I knew right away. I went the next day tried it on and that was that in my head, my mother and best friend of course made me try on 20 more, but my mind was pretty made up. My bridesmaid dresses were from David’s also and I thought they were perfect, and no one complained; which was the best part =) the part I didn’t like about David’s was that it was not that intimate, like the smaller shops and there are a tone of hidden fees. Please shop around for all the extras like veil, shoes, earrings… enjoy the experience don’t rush through it!

Another very important part of the wedding, WE LOVE CARMEN!! She was sooo awesome the day of the wedding and her work speaks for its self. Most important part of hiring a photographer is the comfort level, you must feel comfortable with her/him and confident...if not don’t hire them…remember these are your wedding pictures!! Alan and I discussed in the beginning of the whole planning process that we were not going to skimp on photography or music. We sat with plenty of inexpensive and plenty of expensive photographers, but never felt 100% confident until we met with Carmen. On our wedding day she arrived on time and ready to work. I never felt any pressure or anxiety with her, her confidence really relaxed me. After the portrait photographs we didn’t even notice her or the assistant, they both stayed out of the way and got tons of beautiful photographs and didn’t miss anything. Carmen is NOT that “in your face obnoxious” kind of photographer it was perfect for us. She really is a great photographer we couldn’t be happier.
Carmen was: Nice, efficient, fun, professional, punctual and an amazing photographer/artist and to top it off affordable. She did an ABSOLUTE AMAZING JOB FOR OUR WEDDING!!!

Advise for brides: Do Not Skimp On Your Photographer! You WILL Regret It!!

Video: Milady Merette – A+++

Our videographer was actually referred to us by our photographer Carmen Rubio and she also was very nice and professional. She arrived on time, and ready to work and has done an absolute amazing job!! Alan and I in the beginning decided not have video since we didn’t think we could afford it, But Carmen explained how fast the day would go and how we should really think about getting video so we could see all the things we might have missed and be able to replay it. She was very right!
The video came out great, plenty of laughing and crying moments when we watched it and re watched it.
Advice: Get a Videographer

Makeup: Reshma from the MAC stand at Macy’s in Roosevelt field – A+

Reshma was great; my makeup came out even better than my trial!!! She arrived at my house on time was very reasonably priced and again did an amazing job on me!!

Reception: Riccardo’s by the Bridge – B

They were the only ones we were able to really negotiate a great price with. The maître D and staff set up all of the centerpieces and did an amazing job. Cocktail hour the food was great, but the make sure you have a taste test before you book, because the main course wasn’t that great. =(
We had the star fire room which is the nicest in my opinion, and looked beautiful on our wedding day.

The WORST for last: Bayside Florist 39-19 Bell Boulevard Bayside, NY 11361 – F---

Alan and I realized that flowers would be too expensive so I ended up doing the majority of the flowers for the wedding myself. As any bride I really wanted my Bouquet professionally done along with the boutonnieres...so long story short the florist (the really skinny guy with the glasses, I don't care to remember his name) talked me into booking with him and promised a beautiful job and described such a pretty bouquet to me.
I specifically told him I DO NOT WANT ANY BABIES-BREATH!! He said no problem, we paid $165.00 and left.

The day of the wedding my fiancé went to pick up the flowers at around 9:30am and no one was aware of a wedding order. My fiancé told them he would be back in 20 min. The florist threw together 12 closed red roses (I was promised 16 opened red roses) and a TON of BABIES-BREATH (I was promised white waxed cherries interlaced between the open roses!!) they tied the whole thing together with white paper ribbon and shiny scotch tape, all the way around the stems!!!

As you can imagine, I was very anxious on that day and when my flowers arrived I wanted to cry!! My maid of honor called and told them it was wrong and that we are sending someone with the bouquet to be fixed.

Being that they were in the wrong, you would think they would correct the mistake, BUT NO! They completely disrespected my bridesmaid in the store, kicked her out and told her to leave and that they were too busy!! They actually used profane language!!! My bridesmaid begged them to fix it somehow and they just continued to curse and tell her to get out!! It was not until she said she would be sure to write a bad review they actually tried to fix the crappy bouquet. All they did was rip out the babies-breath shoved some more closed roses and red cherries in and sent her on her way.

At the end I had to fix and redo my bouquet while in my wedding dress in front of my bridal party, photographer, and videographer. And BTW the boutonnières rose heads broke off before the ceremony; thank God I made some of my own two nights before.

My now husband and I went back to let them know how we felt and the owner didn't seem to care until I told him I would be writing a bad review. We never received an apology. They should have never taken a wedding Job on Valentine’s Day and completely disrespect the customer, they way that I felt I was.

I am so sorry that you went through all of that drama with the florist. I would totally contact the better business bureau and tell them how they treated you! On a happier note...you were a gorgeous bride and your flowers ended up looking very nice! Congratulations!!!

They played all that we asked to and the MC was really interactive I would give them an A.

Just make sure you get a chance to speak to the DJ and the MC and let them know exactly what you want and I'm sure they will deliver.

We sat with Frankie who works at the Ultimate sounds on Astoria Blvd Across from Brunos...try to haggle with him...he worked with us
