MY 10/11/08 REVIEW! NRC, Duet, Paris, Pedestals, Royalty, La Rosa Cubana and more!!!

I'd like to start out by saying that 10/11/08 was the best day of my life!!! LIW has really helped me to choose vendors that truly out-did themselves and made our wedding the best that it could have possibly been!!! I hope you all find this review helpful. Most of my vendors were absolutely amazing, while some really disappointed us. Here are a few non-pro pics from our day... I will update my review once I get my proofs!! Enjoy!!









Mother Nature - A++++++++++++++++++
When we began planning our wedding, I knew that I wanted to be married in the fall because I just love the cool weather. If I could have chosen the weather for the day of our wedding, it wouldn’t have been any different from what Mother Nature gave us. It was absolutely gorgeous all day long!!!

The North Ritz Club - A++++
Words cannot express how AMAZING the NRC came through on the day of my wedding. The service was impeccable, food was absolutely delicious and they treated us like royalty!! There is nothing negative that I can possibly say about them. I booked with Nadine over a year ago and she has been sooo helpful all the way through. George (the Maitre'D) and our Bridal Attendant on the day of were so great. I HIGHLY recommend the NRC for any occasion... you are really getting sooo much for your money and can’t possibly go wrong with them. I was so happy with our decision to book our wedding day with them!

Royalty Limousines - A++++
We booked Royalty at a showcase at Jericho Terrace and we got an amazing deal. We had 2 10-passenger Chrysler 300s and a Bently Spur. They arrived early which was such a relief and the drivers seemed to really enjoy their jobs. They were EXCELLENT!!

Pedestals, Garden City - A++++
I worked with Vito and let me just tell you... this guy is amazingly talented and a genuinely nice guy! Our CP samples blew us away! After hearing stories from other disappointed brides about how their CP looked nothing like their sample, I was really anxious about how my flowers would turn out. Ladies, my CP and BoK's were out of this world!!! Vito out-did himself! I highly recommend him!

Paris (Band) - A++++
PARIS IS AMAZING!!!! You don't really hear much about them on LIW, but they are absolutely fantastic!!! My guests won't stop raving about them. They really sounded like a DJ! I am SO happy with my decision with Paris and you girls should really go hear them at their next showcase! OUT OF THIS WORLD!!

Duet - A++++
I guess I really don't have to say how wonderful Duet is because you girls are already aware. We used Sam's team and they were so fun to work with all day!! I can't wait to see my proofs!

La Rosa Cubana – Cigar Roller - A++++
To all you ladies debating on booking a cigar roller... DO IT!!! We hired La Rosa for our Viennese Hour and it was such a big hit!!! Everyone was running up to us and telling us what an awesome touch this was to our wedding. La Rosa's prices are very reasonable as compared to other companies and the cigar roller was such a nice guy!

Tuxedo Park, Carle Place – D
At first we were so please with Tuxedo Park. When we booked, they spent so much time with us to help us choose the best attire for our guys. We found exactly what we wanted and were so excited about it! Well, when the guys went to pick up their tuxes it was a different story... I went with DH and his brothers to pick up their tuxes after 3 of our GM had already picked theirs up. The guys tried on the whole outfit and to my dismay... they had on the WRONG TIES. These ties were NOT what we chose and they were absolutely hideous! On the day before my wedding, I had to choose new freakin ties for the men bc the one that I chose was ‘for purchase only’.. UMM, why would they even show us those ties if they weren’t an option???? So I after we scrambled to find other ties to match, the lady gave me extra ties for our GM who already picked up their tuxes. Lets just say I had a Bridezilla moment... I kinda scared myself lol!!! The ties were really the least of our problems. All of the guys' tuxedos were falling off of them, my nephews jacket literally ended mid fore-arm, our other nephew’s tux was so large that DH’s mother was altering it in the limo on the way to the church, and all the guys had different shoes on! It was a huge mess and I will never use them again!



Fedali – Boudoir Pictures – A+
After seeing many 08 brides’ boudoir pics, I knew that I wanted to do this for DH. I was nervous at the beginning of the session, but the Fedali sisters were such sweethearts and truly made me feel comfortable. I brought my sister with me for support and this was not a problem at all. The end result was more than I could have ever expected! My pics were amazing! For all of your girls debating whether to do this or not, DO IT!!! Your FH/DH will LOVE it!

Beautiful Bride, Lynbrook – Bridal Gown, MOB Gown – B-
Ok so after deciding on the gown that I wanted to wear on my wedding day, I searched the Paloma Blanca website to find a store that carried the particular gown. Beautiful Bride in Lynbrook was the only place within a reasonable distance that had a sample of it. I went in, knowing that I wanted that gown and ordered it right then and there. I hadn’t heard much about Beautiful Bride, but I took a chance bc I really wanted the gown. The order was placed in November of 2007 and I was told that the dress would be in within 6 months. At the end of May, I received a call from them telling me that they had a ship date for my dress of June 10th and that they would get it about a week or so after that. Fine. I waited for a phone call, and never got one. My mother’s gown came in at the end of June, so we went in so she could try it on and her dress was perfect! No alterations needed other then the hem, but she had that done somewhere else. So when we were in there, I asked about my dress and when it would be in. I was told July. I questioned them about the call I got about June 10th and no one knew what I was talking about! So, OK, July it is. July came and went with NO CALL. On August 1st, I gave them a call to ask where the f my dress was. I was told that Paloma Blanca was backed up and they will call me as soon as it comes in. At this point I was FLIPPING out! How could they give me a ship date, then two months later still not have my dress? It made NO sense to me. It got to the point where my mother was calling them every day in September to ask them the status. Finally my dress came in, in mid-September. I went in for my fitting and everything was smooth sailing after that. My fittings went perfectly and in the end I was 100% happy with my dress. I was just extremely frustrated with their lack of communication. If you tell your client that their dress will be in in 6 months, it should not mean 10 months. I do understand that sometimes designers get backed up, but if that’s the case, it is up to the bridal salon to keep you informed, not give you the run around.





Bridal Reflections, Massapequa – Bridesmaids Dresses - A
We had a great experience with them despite their negative reputation. Highly recommend them! The dresses came in perfect for the most part. One of them came in with a little stain on it, but they took the dress right back and got the stain right out. They were great!




My Girl Dress (www.mygirldress.com) - A+
We had a great experience with My Girl Dress! The dress was in our hands less than a week after ordering. Their prices were hard to beat and the quality was wonderful! If you are looking for reasonably priced FG dresses, definitely check them out.



Macy’s – DOJ – A+
I bought my DOJ from Macy’s. It was so unexpected, but once I saw it, I knew I had to have it. It is Givenchy and the beauty is, you can use Macy’s coupons!!



Carle Place Bridal Shoe Boutique – Shoes – A+
Such a great and quick experience! They have a huge selection and the shoes I chose were SO comfy!!



For Your Party (www.foryourparty.com) - A+
I ordered our cocktail napkins and matches from For Your Party and had a great experience. Their website is extremely user friendly, the items were shipped quickly and the quality was perfect! The have much more than just napkins and matches, so if you are looking for little details to match your whole décor, I would definitely give them a shot!

For The Modern Bride (www.forthemodernbride.com) - A+
I ordered my cardbox from For The Modern Bride and was soooo thrilled with it! They hit the nail right on the head in terms of the color/look that I requested! About a month before my wedding, I got an email from them telling me that I had one their weekly drawing for a Wish Box that matched the color scheme of my cardbox… I was so excited!! About two weeks before my wedding, I got another email from them telling me that they were starting production on my boxes. They sent me a picture of the final product within a day, and shipped it the day I sent them my approval. Their production system is based on your event date, not on your order date… that is very important to know. A lot of girls were disappointed that it took so long for their cardbox to be delivered, but you just need to understand their process. Highly recommend them!!



Jewelry Stylist (www.jewelrystylist.com) - BM Jewelry – A+
I had the toughest time trying to find jewelry that I liked for my BM. They wore chocolate brown gowns, so I wanted them to wear something that tied into the color scheme or brown/gold/ivory. I came across Jewelry Stylist through a google search and found EXACTLY what I was looking for! The great thing about this website, is that the jewelry is arranged by color, so you don’t have to browse through pages and pages of images to find what you are looking for. The prices were actually very great for the quality of the pieces! Customer Service was great, so I definitely recommend them!







Inter Trade Corp (www.intertradecorp.com) – Chinese Slippers – B+
I ordered 72 pairs of black Chinese slippers for my slipper basket. Delivery took a lot longer than I expected and I had to give them a few calls to check the status of my order. They came in about 2-3 weeks after I placed the order, but all the contents were correct. Their prices were great, but you might be better off going into China Town to avoid the shipping costs.

Gifts International – (www.giftsinternational.net) - Organza Wine Bags – A+
I ordered several organza wine bags from Gifts International and had a great experience. I searched high and low for reasonably priced organza bags, and their prices were the lowest by far! Delivery was very quick, too! I used these bags for both my wine favors and Chinese slippers for my slipper basket.

Carle Place Liquors – Pindar: Autumn Gold - Wine Favors – A++
We wanted to buy a favor that people could actual consume and enjoy. After deciding on wine, I went to my local liquor store and found just what I was looking for to tie into my Autumn themed wedding. We bought several cased of Pindar – Autumn Gold for $6 a bottle (with tax). This was a hit with our guests!!! We also found colorful grapes at AC Moore and tied them to the organza bags for a little extra. I am so pleased with the way they came out!



Programs/Menus/Placecards - My Great Friend Katrina - A++++++
Katrina is a great friend of mine and truly out-did herself with the little details of my wedding. If you'd like her number, FM me!!! She is amazingly talented!!!
