I want to start by thanking Ron and Liz for the fabulous website and all the girls on here for the help and support I got through my planning process.
My wedding day was wonderful. It is still so hard to believe that I am married. Robert still gets a kick out of calling me his wife when we go to restaurants or are introduced to new people.
So lets get to business:

1) Weather - I really had wanted my ceremony to be outside...the Flowerfield grounds are so beautiful, but I could not subject my older guests to the wind and cold. I guess I can't really complain since it was sunny and I did get some pictures outside. If you remember that weekend the rain on Saturday was horrific...so at least we had the sun.

2) Flowerfield (a perfect 10!!!!!) - It was the first place I had looked out when I started planning. My mother had to have me look at a few more...but nothing compared. If you are looking for something elegant and different this is the place for you. My guests haven't stopped telling us or our parents that it was the best wedding they have been too. The food was great...just wished I had gotten to eat more at the cocktail hour. Hopefully I can go there as a guest one day so I can really experience the whole package. We starting working with Meaghan. She was very easy to work with. If you do plan your wedding at Flowerfield make sure you have Andy as your Maitre'd. I can not go on enough how wonderful he is. Andy, if you are reading this, thank you so much for making my day wonderful. You were so calming and made everything run so smoothly. I wish you all the best! Jeanine, my bridal attendant, was there for me every minute making sure that I took a minute to eat and helping manage my dress. The food is to die for! We did the combo appetizer....mushroom studel and salad. most people would think...yuck mushrooms...but it was excellent. Our dinner choices were Filet mignon, herbed chicken, thai halibut or veggie lasagna....our guests have remarked it was the best wedding food they have had. Honestly...you are a princess from the moment you get out of the car to the second you leave. Absolutely perfect.

3) Lovin oven Floral Designs (10)- Keyth does absolutely amazing work. He knows his flowers and is a great person to work with. I highly recommend him. My centerpieces were amazing and when I finally got to look at my chuppah (didn't really notice too much during the ceremony ) I could not believe how beautiful it was.

4) North Island Photographers - I just got my proofs back. I am really surprised how wonderful Micheal was able to make us look. We both know wer are not the most photogenic people So anytime someone can make me look good in a picture I am totally impressed! Micheal does amazing things with color. I was sure that I had wanted black and white photos...but I have to say that Micheals color pictures are the best I had seen. Once I pick my photos out and get my albums back I will be able to give a real grade.

5) Spin Around Sound (10) - Tom is great to work with. We know we were going to have a wide age range of guests and wanted to make sure that everyone had a good time. We were specific that we wanted people to be able to talk over dinner and that was not a problem at all. They did a very nice take on the aniversary dance were he started with all the married couples on the dance floor and worked the years married up until there were 2 couples that had been married over 50 years. Tom put together a really good collection of dance, swing, soft rock, and alternative so everyone heard something they liked. He knew that Depeche Mode was my favorite band and played a number of their classics (things to dance to as well ballads over dinner). At the end of the day we got a 2 CD set of all the music he had played for the ceremony and reception as a keepsake. That was a very nice touch.

6) About Face Makeup (10) - I had gone to a hair and makeup trial back in June. I got concerned when I called to confirm and they told me that the hairdresser would be different, but it was not needed. My ceremony was at 11:30 AM and I was planning on taking my pictures beforehand, so we had to start hair and makeup very early. They met me in my hotel suite at 5:30 in the morning and worked non-stop to get me, my mom and my 3 girls done in time to get to Flowerfield by 9AM. I never wear makeup so I just wanted something light and everything worked out great. My hair looked so cute. They are located in East Islip and will work in their facility or on site.

Yay Flowerfield! You looked like you had an amazing time. Andy is so great, I am really glad he was our maitre'd. Keyth is awesome too. Post more pics when you can! Congrats!

7) Audrey's Bakery (8) - My cake was beautiful and very tasty, but was not exactly what I had ordered. I wanted chocolate since I very rarely like the usual wedding cake. It was supposed to be chocolate cake, chocolate ganache icing with one layer of chocolate mousse and one layer of fresh whipped cream with fresh strawberries. I had paid extra for the cream and strawberries...but only got 2 layers of mousse. I didn't make a big deal of it...and it was still delicious.

My cake topper was just the cutest thing! I found this vendor on ebay. She is no longer on ebay since she gets so much business just by word of mouth. Patricia makes custom wedding toppers that are very individual and fun. I was able to add my pets to the topper which was very important to me since they could not be there in person. Holiday Inn Express in Stony Brook (5) - I have to say I would hard pressed to recommend this hotel to anyone. My mother was trying to be helpful and had booked me the 'bridal suite' and a regular suite for herself. I had quite a number of out of town guests staying there as well. I dropped off out of town bags with names on them to the front desk Saturday afternoon. The women at the frontdesk barely looked at me when I told her what they were for and she assured me they would be handed out. Needless to say, a few couples never go their bags. When I arrived to check in they told me there was something broken in my suite and it would take a minute to repair. I waited in the lobby for 45 minutes with my luggage and my dress. They then tell my mother that they don't have a suite for her...might I add she had booked 10 months in advance....and she would have to be in a regular room. Later while we are sitting in my supposed 'bridal suite', I hear someone try to get into the room. I answer the door and a family wants to know what I am doing in their room. Needless to say, nothing was broken in the suite, they had gone and moved all these peoples stuff out of the room for me to go in. PS...they don't have a bridal suite. My mother was furious....the manager on Monday did make up for it and only charged my mother 1/2 of what the original hotel bill would have been. Overall it was comfortable and clean..I just didn't need that stress the day before my wedding.

OMG!!! I had a problem with them too! They gave my suite away the night before my wedding and I had called twice to confirm!

Anyway, I'm glad you had a great day - LOVED your cake!!
