My 11/21/08 Review

RH - Larkfield Manor…A+++
If you are planning your wedding here, you are lucky. I don’t know where to begin because everything was AMAZING!! From the minute we walked in the door, the bridal attendant (Mario) was by our side. He was the best bridal attendant I have ever seen. He was always there for us and really helped make our night so very special. If you have the option, ask for Frank to be your Maitre’d (sp?) He was perfect. He was so involved and stayed on top of every aspect of the reception. He really made the night run so smooth. He even went above and beyond by calling the limo company to get the driver back to the RH when a girl discovered she left something behind (more on that in the RJ’s review below). On another note, their food was the best! We chose the silver menu (as opposed to the gold) to save some money, and you would never know that we didn’t splurge on the gold menu. The food was the best I ever had at a wedding (and I have been to a lot of weddings). You will be very pleased with your reception if you book here.

DJ - Barattini Productions…A+++
Kevin Barattini is the worlds greatest DJ!!!! He did everything we asked and so much more. We had JC as our MC and people loved him. They make a great team with all their energy and enthusiasm. I am so glad we booked with them and not some other DJ company. If you are looking for a reasonable priced, high energy, professional DJ that will meet with you and listen to your wishes…then book with them, you will not be disappointed. The only time DH and I sat was to eat dinner. Other than that, we were on the dance floor all night (and neither one of us are dancers…they were that good!!). I can’t tell you how many phone calls I got in the days following the wedding from friends and family saying what fun they had and asking about our DJ. One neighbor even told us that she had never seen a bride have so much fun at her own wedding!! This was all possible because of Kevin and his crew. They are truly the best!!!

Limo – RJ’s in Wantagh…B
RJ’s was good…for the most part. The limo driver was early, very courteous, helpful and professional, until he had to return to the RH, because the girls accidentally left something behind in the limo. Frank (our Maitre’d) called when we found out we were missing something. The driver initially refused to return to the hall. He eventually only came back because someone promised to pay him for coming back (which was his JOB). When he finally came back and demanded payment, he sneered at the generous money my friend gave for his “services.” Other than this hiccup, they were pretty good, but not outstanding.

Vans – US Limo…F
When we originally booked, Toni was very kind and polite (as any sales woman that needed business would be). But when we left a deposit on our credit card, she “accidentally” charged the entire amount of the vans. We asked her to reverse the charge and only charge the required 20% deposit and she said NO!! I later called to reduce the time of the van by 2 hours and she said that did not warrant a refund either. If you are charging customers an hourly rate, how do you not refund money when they are no longer using your services for 2 whole hours?? Then when we called to confirm all van details, she had the information all wrong, despite the fact that I faxed her a word document outlining all stops the vans needed to make. UGH! Definitely not worth the aggravation and not something I wanted to deal with the week before our wedding.

Flowers - Wicks Florist…A+++
The flowers were absolutely stunning and perfect. I had request a fall colored bouquet and flowers and they were so beautiful. They were delivered to their destinations early and looked great. I was a bit of a pain, I went back there 2 or 3 times to make changes and they were so accommodating and helpful. Definitely check them out.

Photographer – Jessica Photography…A+++
My proofs are incredible!!!! We were married on Friday, November 21st and had our proofs delivered to us in beautiful leather albums on Monday, December 1st. I am so in love with all of the pictures he took that it is going to be so hard to decide what makes it into the album. Jack (the owner and only photographer) arrived early, was very pleasant, courteous, professional and all around terrific. I can’t say enough good things about him. If you go with him, you will not be disappointed.

Great review! I would just like to add that I was at LIBrides wedding and if I didnt already have a deposit on my hall, I would go for Larkfield Manor. I loved her maitre'd and the bridal attendant!! I even took a pic with the bridal attendant!! I LOVE YOU MARIO IF YOU ARE READING!!

Yeah the Larkfield was amazing. I don’t have one complaint about them. I loved every minute of the reception.

P.S. If you get the cake from them, they get it from Blackforest in Lindenhurst and it was sooooo good.

I'm so excited about using Jessica/A Beautiful Day as my photographer now. Two of our friends also used him when they got married and their pictures came out incredible, but it's so nice to hear someone else say it.
