MY 3/6/04 WEDDING...RAINY YET PERFECT...TIMBER POINT
Ahhh....I'll try to keep it short and simple....To start off...I spent my wedding Eve in the Wyndham Windwatch with my sister....much needed peace and quiet. We woke up at about 5am...I was up at 4am without a blink of an eye!! That didn't stop me from being 45 minutes late to the hall for makeup and pics...OOPSIES!!
Hair Port in Port Jefferson A+ They were there at 6:32am....Jeanne, Susie, Kristen, and Celeste were great....they did 6 girls (the 7th got sick and couldn't make it) and I was done by 7:45am....I tried to wait around for all the girls to be done, but some of them had super long hair and had to leave at 8:30am ( a little too late, but oh well). Everyone was happy with their hairdo's and it was nice to be with all the girls.
TIMBER POINT COUNTRY CLUB A+
WOW....Steve was AMAZING....he kept the whole show running smoothly. He brought up a tray of shots for the bridal party and family right before our intro....MY 76 YEAR OLD GRANDMA TOOK A SHOT OF BLAKCHAUS!!! We kind of ended up with 2 maitre'd's..one of the waitresses got sick so April stepped in...she's usually a maitre'd....I was glad she was there. She was great...always putting a cold drink in our hands...every other minute was 'Do You need anything?' THE FOOD WAS OUTSTANDING....we didn't get to eat much but what we did was scrumptious! Rich wanted chicken Marsala just for him, we got it...PLUS they made us a plate of ALL # ENTREE's so we could try it all!!! Everyone loved the food....my vegetarian was acocmodated with a pasta primavera. The chocolate fountain was a SMASH HIT...the line was probably 20-30 people long at any one time!! My only 'complaint' if you could call it that was that it was a little warm....the A/C wasn't up and running and the weather was so iffy that day...I think it was in the mid 50's that day!
MAKE-UP A+
She was great....I got a referral from another bride on the boards since she was friends with her....she was great! My sisters' and my make up was perfect....I look REALLY flushed in a lot of pics since it was so hot in the hall. It's because I was over heated.....many people commented on how alike my sister and I looked since our makeup was so similar!!
FLOWERS Sunrise Florist in Oakdale...a local florist A
The flowers wer great...perfect colors and sizes...exactly what I had pictured in my head....only problem was the tulips...they were either opening or wilting for some of the guys and girls....... I had 3 types of flowers (hydrangea, tulips, and gerber daisies) all in hot pink for the BM, tulips for the GM, and my and MOH bouquet was mostly gerbers with some roses.
PHOTOGRAPHERS Liz & Joe Schmidt
They were great...I was running late...Liz helped unload the car (it ain't easy getting a wedding dress into a Mustang!!!) and kept me calm while getting ready. Didn't see them all day aside from the posed photos and the walk down the aisle. We could have seen some of our pics since they are digital and they had the laptop set up in another room...but we didn't get the chance. I'm sure the pics are amazing!!!
THE CEREMONY/PASTOR A+
We had the whole place in tears since we chose to write our own vows and no one had read them before hand except for the pastor. We flew Patrick and his wife out from California to marry us since Rich connected with him at a friends' wedding. It was perfect...he even incorporated the Jewish breaking of the glass. THe only problem was that I don't think there were enough chairs set up for all the guests....
DAVID'S BRIDAL B
I had no problems picking my dress or trying them on....did not do alterations through them because of all the horror stories I had heard. I had a few problems with the BM dresses....no one called when they came in. Then they supposedly couldn't find the MOH dress....UGH. One OOT BM couldn't just get plain fabric to have a top custome made, so they gave her a bunch of skirts to use.
HONEYMOON: SECRETS RESORTS PUNTA CANA, DR A++++
Truly unbelievable!! The resort is clean, well kept, open, airy, romantic!! The people are nice and attentive. The rooms are clean, spacious, great views and well kept. The food...AMAZING...we were very happy with the food! We did the dolphin swim excursion and a night time 'romantic' horseback ride. We pretty much did nothing for a week which we needed....we kept to ourselves...met a few couples here and there. The 1 hr ride to and from the airport wasn't bad at all.
WYNDHAM WINDWATCH B
The rooms and hotel are beautiful....it was the checking in process that was a mess.....we were paying for several peoples' rooms and that seemed to be difficult for the one reservationist to understand. I'm not sure all the guests got their goody bags....
LIBERTY TRAVEL IN SAYVILLE A+
Nicole was great...she got us the best price on our trip and was thourough in finding the easiest flight for us. She priced a Sandals resort just for comparison and Secrets was cheaper.
AND I QUOTE... INVITATIONS Port JEfferson Station A+
Jenn was amazing and patient as I flipped through the books trying to find the perfect invitation. She was again patient when I couldn't find the perfect words. We also had to re-order the RSVP envelopes since I moved into FH house before the wedding and all the stuff came into the store in under a week! They are great there!
REHEARSAL DINNER-SONOMA GRILL IN HOLBROOK A
The food was great...the private party room was great! Everyone enjoyed the nachos and various appetizers. The only bad thing was the soda was self-serve...in pitchers on a table off to the side. They allowed the grroms' cake from Audrey's and presented it and cut it and served it for us!

I FORGOT!DJ A
DJ Glenn was great...played from our suggested play list...avoided what we didn't want. Did the limbo for my brother.....did the intros' absolutely awesome! Just what we wanted! HE even apologized because not too many people got up to dance...I chalk it up to the fact that it was a day wedding!
