My 5/22/04 Land's End wedding review. Now with a few non-professional pics!

It is hard to believe after years of planning that the day is over. However, it was a wonderful day and my husband and I are so happy! Here is a quick review of our vendors:

Land's End (pre-wedding): B. While everyone was always nice to my mom who would go in every few months (since she lives on LI and I do not), every time I met with people I was told 'no we can't do that' way more than I should have been. Too many times I left there in tears after being told I couldn't do something that I had believed was possible to do (our banquet manager changed mid-way through so I was told some things by one and different things by the other).

Land's End (day of wedding): A+. On the day of the wedding, everything was absolutely perfect! I didn't worry or want for a thing from the moment I arrived until the moment I left. Marietta (the maitre d) was phenomenal and made the day run incredibly smoothly. All of our guests raved about the grounds, rooms, food and service!

Flower Michele: A+. From the moment I met with John, to the moment I arrived at the reception, everything ran smoothly. John listened to my 'vision' of the wedding and created bouquets, bouts, pew flowers, and centerpieces perfectly! So many people complimented me on the flowers. The flowers were delivered to the proper locations on time and in perfect condition! John even knew enough to include an extra bout for the groom and best man in case the original were damaged with all the hugging - good thing because Ben's bout got smashed during the receiving line!

J&P Entertainment: A+. James Dunn (the owner and DJ) was incredible. He did everything I had asked for (despite being a bit different from the norm) with a 'no problem' and a smile. He kept everyone up dancing the entire time and had a great mix of slow and fast songs. I highly recommend J&P for anyone looking for a great DJ.

North Island Photography: A+. Michael and Debbie were just wonderful! They showed up at my parent's house on time and were extremely nice and professional. Michael uses digital photos exclusively and I was able to see a few pictures as he was taking them. Amazing!!! I can't wait to see the proofs!!

Hair - Susan at Expressions: A. Susan was pretty incredible in putting up with me - as I have a tendency to be somewhat demanding. She did exactly what I wanted and my hair stayed in all day. The only reason she received an A rather than an A+ was because I had to apply a bit more hairspray to my wacky fly-away hairs after leaving the salon.

Dress - Bridal Visions in Falls Church, VA: A. For any DC/VA ladies getting married, it is worth stopping by Bridal Visions. While I was initially concerned because you are only permitted 1-hour appointments, I found the dress of my dreams at a really good price. In addition, the dress came in 4 months early, they called me to schedule fittings way in advance of when I needed to start in order to find a mutually agreeable date and time, and the fittings (done by Mrs. Kim) were a pleasant experience. My bustle lasted all day and I received so many compliments!

Invitiations - Rexcraft: A+. I found the invitations I wanted online and got great customer service using Rexcraft. The invitiations came in early and were perfect. We also ordered blank invitations from them (at a discount) to use as programs.

Honeymoon - Little Dix Resort, British Virgin Islands: A+. If you want to be pampered in paradise, this is the place to go! FM me if you want more info on this!

Best of luck to all of you who are still planning your big days - take the time to enjoy everything as the day goes by way too fast!!

YAY! I can't wait to see your North Island proofs!

I am so excited to use them as well. Were they relaxing to be around?

They were just wonderful - they calmed me down in fact! They were not obtrusive at all - many of the guests didn't realize they were there!! You will love them!
