My 6/18/2005 Wedding at The Snapper Inn-With some Pics

Wow! Our day was unbelievable. The Snapper Inn is such a different place to have a wedding. The service was impeccable, many of our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. If you are looking for a casually elegant wedding this is the place to have it. You also have to be brave because it is mostly outdoors. Here is my review.

Holiday Inn Ronkonkoma- C
We chsoe this hotel because of the jacuzzi suites and the bar that is attached. I checked in with two of my BM's the night before and everything was fine. The next day we got ready in that room and it was trashed! I called down to the front desk at 2:30 and asked that they have someone come and clean the room. They were well aware that it was my wedding day. Well when we got back, and went to change the room was still trashed. My husband said'IT wasn't quite what I was expecting' We went down to the bar(that part was great for continuing the party) I was still in my wedding dress. I spoke to the guys(two of them) at the front desk and they told me there was no one to clean the room-keep in mind there were two of them sitting behind the front desk doing NOTHING!! I said it was my wedding night and it would be appreciated if they could figure it out for me. Basically they said they couldn't do anything and handed me two black garbage bags. Yes thats right, in my wedding dress with tiara and all and I'm supposed to clean their hotel room! You have got to be kidding me. We went up to the room took a jacuzzi and went home!

Bayard Cutting Arboretum-A
The Bayard is nice but very green. There are not many flowering areas also there is some walking. I haven't gotten my pictures back so when I do I'll post.

Colonial Transportation-B
I loved working with Eileen. She is a sweetie. However on the day of the wedding I had to call and see if the bus could come 15-30 minutes earlier and she was not there. I spoke to Bill. He gave me a huge attitude and told me I was not the only one getting married that day. The driver did end up coming early but the bus had no AC! My husband is a very hot person so he was getting irritated. When we went to take our pictures the driver went back and got another bus with AC so that worked out well. They also provided transportation for all of our guests back to the hotel and that was a great thing. No one had to drive. Their pricing was reasonable.

Makeup by Oksana-A+++
LIW Vendor
Oh my God Oksana made me look beautiful. I went for two trials with her because my first was just a bit too dark in the eyes for me. I showed her pictures and explained what I wanted and it was much better the 2nd time. (see the pic where I am wiping something off my husbands face-goofy picture but it shows my makeup well.) I am more of a natural person and I feel I look good in lighter eye makeup and that is what she did. I had a tan from my bachelorette party the week before so she did a very light sheer foundation which was great. If I ever need makeup again I will surely call Oksana. She is amazing and the only thing I had to touch was my lipstick all night. I love you Oksana!!

Flowers-Floral Expressions-A+++
LIW Vendor
Trina is amazing she took my vision and made it better than I ever could have imagined. The BM's bouquets were so pretty all the girls loved them(they even took some flowers out to put in their hair and the bouquets still looked full.) My bouquet was stunning and looks awesome in the pictures. The centerpieces were taken from something I had seen in Grace Ormond weddings and they came out beautifully. Many people took them home and they still look great 1 1/2 weeks later. Thank you Trina, I hope to do business with you again.

Favors-leavingfootprints.com-Sue
Sue was great. I ordered 100 moroccan lanterns from her plus all of my candlesticks for my centerpieces. I made favor tags from a template on uprint.com and used paper from paperandmore.com. Everyone loved them and I used them as decoration on the tables during the night. They looked so awesome all lit at night. They also have cute stuff for the home so check them out.

DJ-Party Sensation- D-

This was the worst vendor we had. My husband is a huge music lover and because we had a casual outdoor wedding we really did not want any of the crazy MC stuff, giveaways, disco or techno music, etc. We had discussed with him before exactly what we wanted and gave him a list of about 100 songs. We were so specific with him and he kept saying whatever you want, you're the customer. Well about an hour into the reception he began playing random songs-techno and stuff we specifically told him we did not want. So both my husband and I approached him and asked him to start playing songs that we had requested. He then made comments like,'Playing the list from top to bottom' and 'Straight from the list' It was just extremely unprofessional and spiteful. If he had a problem playing songs from a list he should have said so and we would have taken our business elsewhere. Unfortunately we paid him in full before the wedding so we really had no recourse.

The Snapper Inn
I can not say enough about The Snaper Inn. Gina was our maitre d and was wonderful. She had a firm hand on everything that was going on and was a true professional. My husband had dropped off three boxes the night before with all of our stuff in there. I had written a list of everything and where I wanted it and they said that was very helpful. They set everything up exactly as I wanted it. The place looked so beautiful when we walked in I couldn't have done it better myself. Throughout the night we had our own server who was Stephanie. We did not wait for anything and she was fabulous. I would highly recommend having an event here. We were so pleased and all our guests loved it and raved about everything. The food was amazing and the cocktail hr was huge! We even chose to leave out the pasta station to save some $$ and there was still so much food. Loved it!

Cake-Stanleys Bakery-A
The cake was awesome we had an all chocolate cake with 4 different fillings. I made the cake topper from a wooden M at Michaels painted and crazy glued rhinestones on. Everyone raved about the cake.

Great day. If anyone has any questions please FM me. I also made my own invites so I can help with that.

Re: My 6/18/2005 Wedding at The Snapper Inn-With some Pics

Thanks Somethingblu for posting my pictures. I don't know what I'm doing wrong? I know about changing the file format and under 60 kb and I do that, but whatever. I also forgot to mention, I really wanted my BM's to love their dresses and wear them again. I decided on black chiffon and let them buy their own dresses. Most were bought at TWC in Commack and everything went fine. The people in the bridal shop tried to tell me they would look bad and be different blacks but they were all the same and everyone liked their dress. One of my girls even bought hers at Macy's online-she lives in TX. Will post more pics when i get them.
