My 6/23/07 Watermill Wedding. Oasis Band, A&L Limos, Lombardi Photo and Video, Henry's Florist , and more!

First off, I am truly thankful for this site. If it weren't for this site, I would be lost. It has helped me do so much research, and get great ideas!

Because of LIW, I was able to make everything match. My colors were aqua and ivory - so it was a little hard to find things that matched perfectly. My theme was wine (I had wine decanters and a bottle of red wine as the favor, the placecard holder was a wine bottle stopper, and I incorporated my monogram onto everything).

Weather - A+++++
I had the most beautiful day. I could not have asked for a nicer day. It was not hot, nor cold, and just a bit windy. It was the most perfect day ever.

St. Mary Gate of Heaven A++++
I went to St. Mary Gate of Heaven bc I just Loved the church, but it was not my parish. I dealt with Deacon Rich and he was very nice and very understanding and accomodating.

Blanchee Bridal A+
I went to Kleinfeld's and picked out my dress.... it was a Reem Acra. I loved it so much, and had to have it,. I ordered it from Blanchee Bridal bc I trusted them. They were very nice and helpful.

Watermill A++++
The Watermill was very understanding as to what we wanted. We are used to going to Russo's on the Bay for every party, so they understood that we wanted the best and only the best. They are definately up there with Russo's. The service, the abundance of food, and the decor was perfect, and everything I had expected.

Lombardo - Photo & Video A+
The prices are good, and the work is exceptional. I was very happy with my proofs, and the video - which I still have to pick up.

Limos - A&L Limos A++++++
A&L Limos is a LIW vendor, and Tony (the owner) is the nicest man. We got a party bus, a Rolls Royce just for the church (which wasnt used bc my parents surprised me with a horse and carraige), 2 lincolns for both parents, and a Crystler 300 for Dh and I from Church to the Watermill. Tony made sure he was there that day since we had alot of limos. He picked us up from the watermill, and brought us to our apt, to Brooklyn to get FH's luggage, and to HB to drop off my dress at my parents house. Then he took us to the airport bc we had a 6:30am flight to go to Hawaii. The airport wasn't open yet, so he waited with us, until we were able to go in. DH and I thought that was so nice of him - esp since he was working since 2pm!!! (and it was 4:30am)

Henry's Florist - A+
I was having a hard time figuring out how to incorporate the color aqua with the flowers. When I went to Henry's the first time, he already had a sample centerpiece ready for me bc he asked me over the phone what flowers I liked. It was GORGEOUS!!! He was a BIT pricey, but he definately put in more work, and more flowers in his centerpieces than the other florists I went to. I really loved my centerpieces, and he added delphinians to the girls bo-K's and the centerpieces to give it a touch of aqua like I had wanted.

Oasis - Italian/american Band - www.oasisnj.com - A++
Oasis was really amazing! They put on an awesome light show, and they really cater to your needs.. they are always there when you call, and they really make sure that you get everything you want. John, one of the singers, practiced my first dance (Sei La Vita Mia) just 2 weeks before the wedding, and called me bc he wanted it to be perfect! Its a 10-pc band, with organists, and what I really love - is that almost every person in the band sings!

Guys Tuxes - Men's Warehouse - B
We went to Men's warehouse b/c they had aqua vests for the tuxes, and also bc the price was pretty reasonable - esp since we got CK 100's (keeps the guys less hot in the summer). We also like that the GM could go to whichever location that was convenient to them. The problem was that the service was bad, and the buttons fell off almost every tux before the guys were at the church. I give them a B bc overall - they looked good in pictures! lol

Makeup - Makeup by Vanessa - A++++
I was having a hard time finding the perfect person to do my makeup..I wanted a very natural look, and I wanted something that lasted all day long. I also didnt want to feel the makeup on me. Airbrushing was the perfect solution, and Vanessa did an AMAZING job, and all the BM the chose to get their makeup done by her loved her!! She is very attentative and really wants everyones makeup to look perfect, and it sure did!! Thanks Penny for recommending her!

Day of Jewelery - Manhattan, NY - Fashion District - A++
I bought my veil, necklace, and tiara all in the fashion district. I went the week after Xmas, and everything was 50% off!! I also got the BM's their brooches which they wore the day of - to hold the sash on their dress.
My mom sewed the beads and crystals on my veil to make the veil look exactly how I wanted.

Casa Del Corredo - A+
I went here for my favors, and bridesmaid gifts. I got my girls Swarovski necklaces, and I picked out Wine Decanters as my favors.

Labels - Stoney Creek Wine Press
I was going CRAZY trying to find customized-sized labels. Finally, DH gave me this website. They were very nice and helpful, a little pricey, but definately worth it. The labels are shiny and very professional looking. I designed the label, and they just printed it for me. I used them for the wine we gave out as a favor, and also I made mint tins. The mint tins were placed at every place-setting.

I ordered 2 5 lb bags of mints, and still have some left!! Shipping was a bit much - but I still saved money by making the tins myself instead of ordering them.

Tins - Specialty Bottle
The tins came in pretty quickly, and were very sturdy.

Placecard holders - Wine Stoppers - Placecard Holders Wrap with us had them the cheapest, and It went with my 'wine theme' so I was excited ... plus, I wanted to have a placecard holder that was useful.

Maid To Order - Bridesmaid Dresses - B
The ppl at Maid to Order were very nice and friendly. The problem was that the bridesmaid dresses didn't come in until the very end of April for my June wedding. My mom is a seamstress, and she was altering all the dresses. We told them that the wedding was in APRIL!!! Plus, swe ordered fabric bc my mom made my neices dress (Jr. Bridesmaid) The Fabric was supposed to come in 3 weeks after I ordered it, and it came WITH the dresses - 5 mths after the order. They kept on saying that it was the company, and that the dresses were in NYC waiting to be cleared. Overall, it all worked out in the end, but my mother and I were stressing. They told me that I was the calmest bride ever, and ended up giving me the fabric for free! lol

Groomsmen Gifts - A+++ -
Stainless Steel Bracelets
DH and I decided to get his guys a stainless steel bracelet for their gift. Dh was tired of 'wedding planning' and didnt want to go anywhere, so he told me to 'research' the bracelets online. Well, SmartBargains.com had BEAUTIFUL stainless steel bracelets for a very cheap price!! We ended up spending $35 on each bracelet - when we were planning on spending $50-$55 on each guy! Sometimes you gotta listen to your man! lol

Hawaii - Mccoytravel.com
I booked our honeymoon with mccoytravel.com, and dealt with Lori. The travel agency is located in Maui, and she was very helpful and nice. She also beat any price that I found!! We went to Oahu, Maui and Kauai. It was the best vacation I have ever been on, and DH and I cant wait to go back! We did so many activities - that we also booked with Lori. We went to Pearl Harbor, went to the Feast of Le Le luau (AMAZING!!), drove up to Hana, went to the red sand beach, black sand beach, etc.), went on a submarine ride, and went on an ATV tour. We were pretty adventurous, but still had time to relax We stayed at the Halekalani in Ouhu, the Hyatt in Maui, and the Grand Hyatt in Kauai. The only thing I would change is that I would stay at the Four Seasons in Maui.

I hope I didnt miss anything, but it turned out to be perfect, I got everything I wanted and more... but the best part was that I married the man of my dreams, and married life is soo much better than I expected.

You look terrific. And I really love the brooches, I was thinking about brooches for my girls and I think you just cemented that, it's something people don't really buy themselves but love so I think it is a great gift.
