My August 7th Wedding Review! w/pics (Added link to more proofs!!)

Hi everyone!

I haven't posted very much, but I wanted to post a review of my wedding because I have found other brides' reviews to be so helpful! so here goes...


Sans Souci of SeaCliff: A+++
I can't say enough about how wonderful Sans Souci was. The food was amazing, the grounds were beautiful, and the staff was amazing. The banquet manager, Nargis, was unbelievable. I don't know how she managed to make sure every last detail went according to plan, but she did! Anyone who is planning a smaller wedding (150 people or under) should definitely consider Sans Souci. Flower Michele: A++++
Everyone has raved about John from Flower Michele, so I had some pretty high expectations before I met him. And then once I did I was blown away! His work is above and beyond anything I could have imagined. I have never worked with someone so knowledgeable and passionate about his work. My flowers were exactly what I wanted- he did a beautiful job, he was able to work within my budget, and everything was delievered on time without any problems. I loved this vendor!!


Designer Limosine: A++++
So when I started planning my wedding I thought that the limo was the least important vendor and I didn't care at all what I booked or who I booked with. But DH convinced me to get a limobus for our enormous bridal party (8BM and 8GM) so that we could all ride together and have room to party. It was the best idea ever, and we were extremely happy with Designer Limos. They were on time, and our driver went completely out of his way to make sure the bridal party was taken care of. He did everything from fix the train of my dress before walking down the aisle to handing out bottles of water to the bridal party while we were taking photos. And the bus itself was great too. It even had a bathroom, which I must say made the groomsmen very very happy :)


Natasha Staszak Photographer: A+++++++++
Natasha has been nothing but a pleasure to work with. She shot the wedding with her husband, and together they captured our day perfectly. She is an amazing artist, and she was so unobtrusive that we hardly noticed her once we got to the reception. She was able to get amazing shots, yet not get in the way at all. I have some of my proofs in my community album if you are interested in seeing them.


Code Bleu: A++++++++
This band was unbelievable. I first heard them at a wedding two years ago, and we were so impressed with their talent that we called them as soon as I had a wedding date booked. All of my guests were on the dance floor all night, young and old! Plus, they went out of their way to learn songs that had special meaning to my DH and I so that we could have them played during the wedding.

Wedding Gown: Bridal Salon of Manhasset: A++++
I grew up in Manhasset and used to think to myself 'someday when I get married I want to get my gown from there'.. and I did!!! I ordered the Amsale sash dress in ivory with a champagne sash. It was beautiful and the staff there was nothing but courteous and helpful. My seamstress Casey was amazing- she made this dress fit perfectly!!

Shoes: Hazel's, Bayside A+
I don't know how many people know about this store but they have a HUGE selection of bridal shoes. I have a small shoe size and it was difficult to find shoes anywhere- they had the best selection I have seen.

Bridesmaid dresses: Netbride: A-
I ordered dresses by Wtoo in Rosequartz through netbride and they were great to deal with. Their price was $80 cheaper than in the salons. They get a minus though because some of the dresses came in as extra-long when I didn't order them that way. It didn't really make that much of a difference since the girls all needed alterations anyway, but it was annoying.

Tuxedos: Victor Talbot, Glen Cove: A++++
This place was nothing but professional. The staff are really knowledgeable and run a class-act business. DH looked great in his tux, and the groomsmen did too. We were very happy with them, especially since they came through on all the tuxes (which had been ordered by phone since all of the GM were out of town)

Groomscake: Audrey's A+++++++
Tom from Audreys was so fun to work with. I sent him picture of the racecar my DH used to drive and he was able to make the cake a replica of the car. He captured all of the little details on the car, from the paint down to the writing on the side and it tasted great!!!

Checkered Flags: Oriental Trading B+
So... in case you are wondering, my DH used to be a racecar driver and he really wanted to have racing incorporated in the wedding somehow. So we decided to have everyone wave checkered flags outside the church instead of throwing petals or doing bubbles. We ordered them through oriental trading and they were super cheap (37 cents each!), unfortunately some were kind of messed up, but for that price, who cares?

Favors: Personalized M&Ms, Specialtybottle.com, Myweddinglabel.com
I ordered a bunch of sets of personalized M&Ms that said our names, the wedding date, Just Married, and our favorite: lines from our wedding song! They were a hit! We packaged them in little glass bottles from specialtybottle.com, and we ordered the labels with our names on them from myweddinglabel.com. All were reasonably priced and were delievered on time and in perfect condition.

Franko DeSpagnolo Salon: A+++
I had a spa party for my bridesmaids and my mom as part of their gift the day before the wedding. We all had manicures and pedicures and I think they charged only about $40 per person! (Since we were so many people they gave a discount). We had a private party room upstairs and they allowed me to bring in food and drinks for lunch. Then at the end, they gave all of the girls goodie bags!

Vivian Bridal: A++++
I came across this place in the bridal building in the city. Its located at 1385 Broadway, and the showroom is #1224. The owner of the shop, Diana, makes all of her headpieces by hand so she can make you anything you want. The one I chose was made of Swarovski crystals and ivory colored pearls. I had her remove the comb from the headpiece I bought, and she added little hooks so that I could easily attach and then remove my veil. She was really, really sweet and very talented.
