Hello ladies I want to start by saying this was a magical day for me even though I had some very stressful moments. The day of I was the calmest bride you will ever met and I hope most of you ladies will be the same way. Just remember that nothing is perfect, remember to just relax and enjoy your day its one day of your life that you have spend over a yr at times planning and before you know its done and all you have are memories so just ENJOY, RELAX and have FUN.
P.S. sorry some of this is really long but I had to tell the story and I am adding little by little I will update it periodically and when I get my proofs I will add those in as well.


Kellys Kreation- D- (Bridal Gown, Bridesmaid, MOB, MOG )- I ordered my bridal gown from Kellys Kreations in March of 2007 (Maggie Sottero Royale Symphony ) as well as my mothers dress on the same day. I already had found my dress I tried it on at Lotus on Avenue U in Brooklyn. I decided to shop around for prices and found that Kelly had the best price so I decided to order from her. My mother and I made our deposits on that day to place the order. Sometime in September she had me come in again because she wanted to measure me again and because I was looking for the girls dresses. At this point I had lost some weight and so a smaller size was ordered for me. At the end of December I was placing all the orders for the Bridesmaid dresses (Mori Lee Tafetta 731 in Turquoise) and my MOH was a similar dress but in a long version. Every girl came in got measured and paid their deposit. I have to say that Kelly gave us a good price on these dresses considering I had already priced them elsewhere. The beginning of January rolls around and my mother in law ordered her dress from Kelly as well by Giovanni. Toward the end of January I receive a call from Kelly indicating that my dress was in I was filled with excitement but also concerned because I did not have all the money to finish paying for it; considering she told me I should receive it toward the end of February so I was by surprise. She told me that I had to pay the balance if not they will have to send the dress back. I eventually obtained the money and went for my first fitting the dress didn’t quite fit; I am top heavy but my waist is a size 6 so its realllly hard for me to find a dress that fits, I went with Maggie Sottero because all of her dresses are corset back so it is easily adjustable. The new size she ordered me my boobage was spilling; that didn’t look good for a wedding dress so now they had to order another dress in the original size they had ordered. The weird thing is that the sample is the exact size they ordered me and the sample fit just perfectly so that’s why they decided to change the size in the first place. Oh but you would think that they would know that from ladies trying the dress on soo much it would stretch and that perhaps its not a true size from all the stretching; I guess not! March rolls around and remember I said I had ordered my mothers dress that same exact day as mine a year ago. At this point I am calling Kelly because I am thinking to myself ‘hold on a second I ordered this dress a year ago” and at this point I could tell she was not trust worthy so I started calling. She would tell me she will get back to me and that she is going to call the vendors and find out where it is and when it will arrive. Of course everyday I would wait for a phone call and it never came. Probably after a whole week of constantly asking her for the status she finally says “Oh its here when can she come in for a fitting” I have to interrupt my story because this lady is such a liar and a conniver I am so mad I had to deal with her during a time that was suppose to be happy.
So the story continues… The dress fits my mother just perfect they only have to hem it at the bottom and add spaghetti straps. I still have no dress, neither do my Bridesmaids, MOG, MOH, no problem we still have 2 months. I call every so often to check to see when they dresses are coming in. Once again no response just the run around; April rolls around nothing, the end of April rolls around nothing. Now it’s May and yes ladies my wedding was the 11th day of the month and we still have no wedding dress and no bridal party dresses except my mother and my flower girls which I ordered from a different location thank God. I have been pretty calm with her throughout this whole entire ordeal and she finally calls me to tell me She has good news and bad news; according to her the good news was that my dress was coming in a few days and bad news the girls dresses were in jeopardy of not arriving on time according to her they were stuck in customs. My appointment for my 2nd first fitting was on a Tuesday I remember so clearly and guess what I came in with my mother which she took a 2 hr train to come with me and my MOH. I got there and she says “O I meant to call you the dress didn’t come in”. You would think you would call the person and let them know not to waste their time by coming (NOT KELLY.) Finally my dress came in two days after about a 1wk before the wedding and it was just as beautiful as I remembered it. Not much alteration was necessary besides some hemming and the seamstress suggested adding spaghetti straps just in case so I did. About 4 days left to the wedding and still no Bridesmaids dresses nor MOG dresses; she kept giving me the run around about it stuck in customs blah blah blah; of course at this point I am looking at other options and seeing what we can get ready to wear. Kelly finally calls stating that the dresses came in BUT there is a but ladies… She said it was the right color but a different style. I was livid, hurt and disappointed because I had loved the dresses we had picked out. According to her they send these as back ups because the other dresses were stuck in customs. The dresses were cute but not what I had ordered. At this point its like 3 days left to the wedding and all I can do is cry cry and cry some more. I demanded that all alterations be done without charge and that no one pays another penny; in other words the dresses came out dirt cheap and I took an extra dress for myself that she had ordered an extra dress (she doesn’t know it). My mother inlaws dress came in the day before the wedding and then Kelly had the neve to charge her for alterations. I didn’t know this until after the wedding. To wrap up this hot mess ladies do yourself a favor and DO NOT GO HERE IT IS A DISORGANIZED STORE SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND IF YOU ALREADIE BOOKED WITH HER GOOD LUCK! With that said the alterations done on the girls dresses were not soo great one of my bridesmaid boob kept popping out all night because they didn’t take it in properly. Threw all the stress, sweat and tears everything fell into place at the very last minute; literally..lol.

Crest Hollow Country Club- A- (Ceremony, Reception) It was a pleasure working with CHCC it was great from beginning to the end from booking until the very second we left on our wedding night. We worked with Tom; he was a great Banquet manager he threw in a lot of goodies and gave us a great price. The ceremony we had it outdoors in the English Gardens. It was beautiful we didn’t get any flowers to decorate Flower Michelle and CHCC said it wasn’t necessary and its true; they have a lot of greenery as well as a flowers on the top where the bride and the groom stand. The only thing that I do have to say is that when the Bridal party was lined up they did it wrong. So when I got to the altar all the bridesmaids including my MOH were on the side of the groom. I couldn’t figure it out until after. No wonder that bouquet was getting soo heavy. LOL. The cocktail hr was suppose to be outside but it got kind of chilly and therefore I decided at the last minute that I didn’t want my guests to be uncomfortable so we moved it indoors well half and half because there was a terrace as well. The reception room looked absolutely gorgeous (Starlight) it overlooked the pool which is my favorite. I got to see the room before hand to make sure that every looked great and because I was very specific about the lighting and candles I wanted to set a really romantic mood. They had draped the clear white fabric on the ceiling which looked nice but I wasn’t too fond of the lil lights that were in the inside so I asked them to turn them off (it reminded me of Christmas lights). The food was pretty good, the service was excellent, the signature drinks were good from what I heard I only had one, I did hear that the filet mignon wasn’t, so I heard from 2 of my guests. This was one of the extras so I didn’t bother to say anything about it. The only thing that they messed up on was I had matches that I had ordered from foryourparty.com that I wanted placed by the cigar roller and when I saw the cigar roller he had these crappy white matchbooks so I was upset for about 30 seconds. They had placed them on the tables at the reception room. Another thing I had lil frames with a poem and instead of them standing them upon the table they laid them down so it didn’t look like there was anything on the table. I brought it to their attention and they adjusted it. The cake looked pretty and tasted good. I was going to order my own but I am glad I went with theirs and just saved myself the money. Over all CHCC were great I definitely recommend it to ladies that want beautiful outdoor grounds this was my favorite part of CHCC. I had bridal attendant Lisa she was superb and my Mait D was Al he was a sweetheart.

Flower Michele - A (Centerpieces) – John is absolutely a sweetheart I decided to change my florist a few months prior to the wedding when I fell in love with his cherry Blossom centerpiece I had to have them. John was able to give me a great price considering I was only doing centerpieces with him. The great thing about him is I went to him once and after that he always remembered my name I loved that because it feels personal and not just another bride. The sample was gorgeous they were tall centerpieces with cherry blossoms and small peonies at the bottom with wheat grass. They were soo adorable I loved them and the day of they were just as great. I had bought true Swarovski crystals and he hung them off the branches which looked absolutely great! Thanks John I 100% recommend him to everyone. There were 2 details that were missed however the cake wasn’t decorated as I asked and I also asked them to sprinkle some rose petals down the aisle on the sides and that wasn’t done as well. But overall it was a good experience.

Design By Rose – A- (Personals) I went to DBR very early in my wedding planning they are such sweet woman both Doris and Rose. Doris manages the business and Rose is the designer both are great to work with. With that said my bouquets and all the girls bouquets were absolutely beautiful so with the boutanaires and the corsages for the mothers; everything was just great. The only mishap was that about 10 minutes before we are leaving my moms house to go take pics at the promenades we realized that there was a flower girl basket missing( I had two flower girls). I called Doris right away and informed her and her husband was at my mothers house within 10 minutes with a flower basket. Overall it was a great experience to work with them.

Tuxedo King ( Tuxes and Limo)

Patken – A ( photographer (Vinnie) / videographer) Vinny arrived right on time as we planned, he starting taking pics as soon as he came in with his crew I was in my rollers when he came in so he started taking pics of me getting readie, getting my hair done my makeup done as well. We took some Boudoir pics I was a little nervous considering I am self conscious about my body. He made me feel very comfortable throughout the day. He was patient, sweet and took lots of pics. I am waiting for my proofs so I will update shortly with my reaction to the proofs I cant wait!.

Linens Creations – A+ (chair covers) I shopped around alot for these chair covers because my mother thought it was a waste of money but i assured her it would definately give the room a different look. I honestly hated the chairs at Crest Hollow so I knew I had to get those chairs covered. I found them to be the best prices compared to other vendors in Long Island their covers the day of looked very clean and beautiful they did a great job at setting up. As soon as the wedding finished they were there to pick up their chair covers w/ sashes. Everything worked our beautifully. I got the ivory demaske covers with the tiffany blue organza sash. If anyone is looking for a TRUE TIFFANY BLUE sash this is the place to go, its in satin. Aida was a pleasure to work with it was easy and friendly service and prices were even friendlier. Great place for linens and chair covers.

I'm a bit late! Congratulations!! I'm looking to get married around the same time you did in May and am seriously considering CHCC after I looked at over 15 places. I didn't necessarily want a 'wedding factory,' but I'm so close to caving in. Any advice or feedback you can share?
