My May 18, 2007 Fox Hollow Wedding-Duet, LA Blossom, High Voltage, Serenity limos--Pics in Album!!
I would like to start out by thanking LIW and all of you ladies for making the wedding planning process so much fun and a lot easier!!! My wedding day was amazing and I would love to relive that day! Even though the weather ****** (rainy, windy, and cold!!), I managed to stay dry and had a day that I will never forget!!!Dress - Paradise Bridal – A
The ladies that I dealt with were very friendly and pleasant to work with. They made wedding dress shopping fun! I ordered my dress in June/July 06 and it arrived in Jan. 07. I did not get my alterations done there because I heard a lot of mixed feelings. I ended up getting them done at a local dry cleaner for $45!!! I only really needed a hem and a bustle (1pt.). All in all, good experience with them for my bridesmaids dresses as well. One of my girls got her alterations done there without any problems!
Tuxedos – Mens Wearhouse – A
We did not run into any problems with the tuxes. DH’s pants were too short but they fixed them right then and there. Other than that, they arrived early and the guys were able to pick them up 6 days before the wedding!
Invitations - Pippy’s Sweets – A
Diana was pleasant to work with. We emailed back and forth and she mailed me samples of my invitations. She made changes and mailed out new ones without question. She was easy to get in touch with and her work is beautiful!
Hair/Make Up – Ulta (Patchogue) – A+
These ladies did an amazing job. We had our trials done for my batchelorette party and we looked great!! The day of they did an amazing job. Make up cost only $30 and you were able to buy $30 worth of products to waive that fee!! Can’t go wrong!! Definitely a great place to go when you are on a budget!!
Limos – Serenity Limos – A
They arrived on time and kept us dry!!! Can’t say enough good things about! Everyone I spoke with at this company was pleasant and I was very happy with their service.
Photograher/Videographer – Duet –Jay's Team A+++
Duet has impressed me since the first time I saw their work. They did a great job with our engagement pictures and I knew they would do great for our wedding. The day of, they arrived on time and started snapping pictures immediately. They stayed out of the way and were hardly noticeable at some points! I just got my proofs back and they are beautiful!! Soo many fantastic pictures! We are very happy. I will update this when we get our video.
DJ – High Voltage Sounds – B-
We were very confident booking Vinny after all of his reviews on this website. I know that he rarely has a bad review. He did okay at our wedding and the guests were having a good time; however, he didn’t do what we asked him to do. Vinny prides himself on the fact that he is loved on LIW because he does what the customer wants. He didn’t do this at our wedding! My DH’s cousin made up CD’s of their favorite Spanish music (they didn’t have all the names of the songs/singers whatnot) and the plan was to play about 15 minutes of Spanish music and then switch it back to regular (oldies, hip hop, pop, whatever) for 15 minutes throughout the night. We really wanted an even mix with half of the night being Spanish music. Well, Vinny only played 4 songs off the CDs that DH gave him. For whatever, reason that was it for the night (this was probably about a half hour into the reception). DH woke up the next morning thinking about the music and how upset he was that we didn’t get what we wanted. We were also very upset because he also played our song (from when we were dating) as they were turning on the lights for dinner so no one knew whether to dance or sit for dinner, so that got really messed up. I also asked to have guests join in on the song that I wanted to dance with my mother to but he never did that so we were by ourselves the whole time. Also, my family surprised DH and I with a photo montage that was supposed to be played during dinner so it didn’t run into dancing time but Vinny disappeared to eat dinner himself and we had to wait for the 5 minute movie so dinner was over and then he played it. He couldn’t eat dinner after the movie played?? DH and I are very frustrated over all these things but there’s not much we can do about it now. We get really upset when we think of this part of the wedding.
Flowers – LA Blossom – A++
Laurie was fantastic. She is so personable and knew exactly what I wanted. My flowers were gorgeous. She only had a limited time to set up our centerpieces and managed to make them look fantastic in 10 minutes time!!! So please with her!! She does a great job!
Reception - Fox Hollow – A++
Fox Hollow was amazing. Our bridal attendant and matre’d were fantastic. They kept the evening flowing perfect. It felt surreal that it was finally our wedding day!!! The food was fantastic; everything was set up so beautiful!!!! They did a wonderful job and I can’t say how happy I was with them!!! Fox Hollow brides have nothing to worry about!!!

We almost picked the same tuxes from Men's Wearhouse but I wanted to see it in person- pinstripes woulda been COOL. But we did get the same platinum vests!

Ooh one more question about tuxes if you don't mind- did your dad get his from Men's Wearhouse too? I went with silver vests/ties for groom and & groomsman...but went with ivory for my Brothers in law that will be walking me down the aisle. Did your dad get a charcoal vest? That's what it looks like to me...I'm kinda doubting the ivory choice.Thanks!

Yes my dad got his tux there too! It was the charcoal vest, it went really nice with my mom's plum/eggplant dress.
