My perfect March 28th wedding

1st of all I'd like to thank LIW and all you girls for the assistance, reviews, and knowledge. It was so helpful throughout this whole process. I was not very involved in posts throughout the planning but figured my review would help others plan their special day! Overall, my wedding was the best day of my life!



Florist: Flower Barn
A++
Our experience with Michael from the Flower Barn from the beginning was amazing. He was knowledgeable and worked with us to create exactly what we wanted for our centerpieces and bouquets. The day of the wedding the bouquets showed up on time and were exactly what I asked for, the flowers were gorgeous! The high centerpieces looked unbelievable and we got many compliments on the pieces.

Photographers: Duet
A++
We had Sam and his team as our photographers and also a videographer team. From the beginning we knew we loved Sam's work, but they exceeded my expectations. The team was everywhere, and our bridal party began calling them the paparazzi as they were getting pictures from all different angles and locations, and I think we got a ton of awesome pictures. We should be receiving the proofs within the next few weeks.


Tuxes: MW Tux

MW Tux discontinued the tuxedo we had chosen, and we would need to get everyone in the bridal party fitted in 1 week in order to get this particular style. 2 nights before the wedding we went to pick up the tuxes both my husband and my father’s tuxedos did not fit. My father’s sleeves were about 3 inches too long and the pants needed to be hemmed. My husband’s pants were too long, and the buckles on the pants were broken.

The next day, the men picked up the tuxes, unfortunately they did not re-try the tuxes on, assuming they were hemmed and fixed properly. The morning of the wedding day, my husband put on his tuxedo and learned the buckles on the pants were not repaired. He had to take the pictures with his bridal party while holding up his pants. The limo arrived for departure to the church, and due to the negligence of MW Tux, he had to stop at a Wal-Mart to purchase suspenders to keep up the defective pants. Overall bad experience with MW Tux!

Transportation: Top of the World Limos

We had an Escalade for the bridal party and bride/groom. The limo itself was gorgeous, clean, and showed up on time. However, we paid for 3.15 hours and right after the church the driver tried to tell me that we only had 45 minutes left. I explained to him that we had 3.15 hours in our contract and he said that the extra 30 minutes would come out of his pocket and he wasn’t getting paid for the extra time. I told him to take that up with his boss.

Hair/Makeup:
A+
My hair was done by my Aunt Nancy, who has a salon in her house and my makeup was completed by Makeup by Crystal. Both were absolutely amazing and I looked like a princess. They both came to my parent’s house and we got ready there, so no one had to run around and wait at a salon all day. It was an extremely relaxing morning!

Bride/Bridesmaid/MOB Attire:Renate’s
A
Overall, we had a great experience with Renate’s. My dress and the bridesmaid dresses came in perfect; the alterations were completed properly the first time (with the exception of 1 bridesmaid, who lost a little weight.)

Church: St. Rose of Lima
A+
I made my confirmation at St. Rose and always knew I wanted to get married there. Father Dan was the officiant of our wedding. We met with him 3 times prior to the wedding. As a result, he made the ceremony very personal and customized to Sean and I.

The rehearsal was the night before the wedding and went smoothly. The church had everything in order. The next day the ceremony was gorgeous and the church is beautiful, great choice!

Reception Hall: Chateau La Mer

I cannot say enough good things about CLM! The location on the water and décor sold me on CLM from the beginning, but the food and service on the day of the wedding assured us we made the right decision. I’ve been to many weddings, and I’ve never seen the level of service we received. All guest were served drinks right at the table, my friends are still talking about the fact they never went to the bar. Usually at weddings, there is a gathering to get a drink.

Dealing with CLM from the beginning of the planning process was simple. We went to the food tasting to determine what entrees we wanted to serve, I highly recommend this!

Both the cocktail room and the reception the day of the wedding looked beautiful. Everything was set up exactly as we had asked. There is absolutely nothing I would change about the reception.

Entertainment: Get in Tune Production
A+
We were happy about our decision to go with Get in Tune Production. My husband works in the music business, and the music is extremely important to him and most of his friends/co-workers. We knew we did not want to have a friend DJ the wedding because if anything went wrong we did not want to have an issue.

We met with about 6 DJ’s before making our decision. Glenn from GIT Productions was professional, had a nice office out East, and had many years in the business. He was also recommended from one of hubbie’s friends from a NYC radio station.

Everyone was dancing the whole time, and the party was hopping. The DJ played all our requests and mixed in the best party hits and new hot 40 to get everyone moving. I would recommend Glenn and his team to anyone.

Hotel Block: Courtyard by Marriott Republic Airport

The courtyard was extremely disappointing from the beginning. I booked the rooms prior to the opening as they were just a few short miles from CLM. Within 6 months, there were 3 different sales reps who booked weddings. The first sales rep, promised me a free room for the groom and myself, the bar to be open when we returned, availability for 30 guests, and a shuttle for all guests to and from the reception.

When the 3rd sales rep began working at the Courtyard, the process went a tad smoother but soon learned our rooms would not be free, the bar closes at midnight every night, the hotel was booked and my guests would have to stay across the street at another Marriott, and the shuttle is only available for a certain number of guests.

I had to call my sales rep every time 10 rooms were booked to open my block further. I thought this would be taken care of by the hotel, especially since they are getting revenue from my business, but that was not the case.

I ended up getting the shuttle as well, but not without a few discussions on the topic. Overall, very disappointing and something a bride should not have to deal with.

I have used Top of the World for travel for business and personal trip to/from the airport. I have also been in a few weddings that used them. I have never ever heard one complaint about them. They are always punctual, have beautiful clean cars, and have very professional drivers.

In addition, we have booked Top Of The World Limo for our wedding in October. It clearly states in their contract that there is a $40 charge for any complimentary services. They are giving you the car and gas for free, but of course they have to pay the driver to get you to the airport. I know it's crazy planning the wedding, but it really is smart to read any contract that you sign...
