So I am going to try to remember every vendor of my June 10th wedding and please feel free to contact me with any questions
Glen Cove Mansion- I can't decide what grade to give- The day of the wedding, everything was gorgeous, Shaniqua (third wedding coordinator) is fighting an uphill battle with Glen Cove's totally incapable management. I would love to recommend Glen Cove because my wedding was beyond incredible but until they get a new upper management I don't think I can recommend them. Now I will break it down:
Planning process- C- the first coordinator was fired, constantly lied and made a ridiculous amount of promises that were then taken back.
We encouraged our guests to stay at the Mansion, I was told they never run out of rooms, not only did they run out of rooms but they failed to tell my guests about the block of rooms that I reserved a year in advance.
Then the second wedding coordinator came into the picture she was still making all of the promises of the first coordinator until she just disappeared into the shadow and the third coordinator took over.
The third coordinator came into the picture, Shaniqua, we had a rough time getting on the same page but when we did I quickly realized that it was not her fault that a great deal of the promises that were made by the earlier two coordinators was suddenly being rescinded.
Now when i get to my review of that day it will become clear that these issues did not ruin my day at all, but they did cause a great deal of unnecessary frustration.
Wedding weekend at the mansion- A - I know a huge difference, the staff at the mansion came through for me and my family!!! We had our rehearsal dinner there, everything went so smoothly and everyone had a great time. The maitre d- Mateo did an awesome job keeping every guest happy. Even the people at the main desk really helped all of my guests get into their rooms and make them feel at home. The day of the wedding, I could not say enough amazing things about the staff, despite the mansion double booking part of its grounds, glen cove's staff made us feel like the mansion was our home and my guests had an incredible time. Like I said I have no complaints about the final product, just the trip getting there. And the following morning when we were told that despite 3 digital cameras being stolen the general manager had no plan to compensate people for their loss.
Caterers- Prestige Kosher Caterer- So we didn't have the food at the Mansion, because we had kosher affairs. - A+++++++++++ - Prestige is still the talk of the wedding, the food was amazing and the process was the most relaxing part of the wedding. The coordinator, Alan Schoenfeld, has become part of my family from him showing up at my hotel room at 8:30 that morning to give me and mom a hug to telling everyone when to walk down the aisle. If you need a kosher caterer, with all of my heart I recommend Alan and Prestige Caterers. PLease contact me if you need more information.
rehearsal dinner- Ben's Caterers in Roslyn- A+++++ All of my out of towners loved the NY deli. They were reliable, the food was great, all around a great experience.
photographer- 12th night- A+++++++++ This was my favorite LIwedding vendor, Dom and Geraldine were amazing!! I haven't seen the photos yet, but my engagement pictures came out really nice and they were not even doctored up at all. So I have high hopes for the wedding pictures. Dom just made me soooo comfortable the day of the wedding and my bridal party loved both of them!! Dom also introduced us to Travis with Mittermax the next review
Video- Mittermax- A+++++ OMG, I just drew a blank on the videographer's name, I feel terrible because he was awesome!! A good friend of Dom's and they work amazingly together. I can't wait to actually see the video. As soon as I remember his name I will put it here!
gown- custom made- A+++++++++++- Completely incredible. contact me for his information
shoes- bridal accent - A+- perfect and comfortable, GRACE shoes, just don't dye shoes unless they say dyeable!
MOB dress- so actually two dresses were ordered, one actually never came to pass that is why there are two reviews:
Filly's- FFFFF- HORRIBLE!! I don't wish this place on my worst enemy. 15 years ago they destroyed a $3,000 dress my mom got for my brother's bar mitzvah. We said we would never go back, and we went back Dress was ordered 6 months earlier, we were told when it came in it could be fixed and we should come back a month before the wedding. We go back a month before it was the completely wrong size, they said they would have to re-order it. I asked them to put it in writing that the new dress would be recieved in time. When they said no I asked to cancel the order all together and was completely cursed out. This place should not even be in business!
Bridal Accent- A+++++ we went back to the place where I got my shoes, Jackie was amazing and managed to get us a dress in navy (color of choice) in 3 weeks and did incredible alterations. She has beautiful wedding gowns too!
Flowers- Pedestals- A+++++++++++++++++++++ This was the part of the wedding that FAR exceeded all of my expectations. When I figure out how, I will download some photos. Rob at Pedestals really made dreams come true I didn't even know I had! It was by far the most incredible chuppah any of us have ever seen, I think it made the ceremony!
Reception music- Faze 4- A+++ People are still talking about the music, they are completely amazing, Our group's name was Play by Play. I have never been to a wedding where the dance floor was packed all night and when the band ended people cheered for one more song. Just amazing!!!
Yamulkes- A+++Koolkippah.com, this guy was great, did a beautiful job and is totally reasonable!
Bridesmaid dresses- RK bridal- A- Be ready to fight the crowds, but they have everything and their prices were reasonable. The girls dresses were Bill Lefkoff and everyone was very happy with them.
Make up- Jackie from IMAKEUPYOU.Com - A- I was a little nervous I found Jackie here and she really came through the day of. I got the airbrushing and she was right it didn't move until I took it off, despite the sweating and tears my make up stayed beautiful.
Hair- Ellie- A++ It only took three trials for Ellie and I to get it perfect, in the end I loved my hair and couldn't have been happier.
Hair piece- Thomas Knoelle of Manhasset- A+++ Amazing, you have to check out this place. I went everywhere and they all looked cheap and gawdy, Thomas's designs are just incredible. This is truly going to be a family heirloom.
Groom's tux- Robert Andrew- A+++ We decided to buy his tux and I am so glad we did it was stunning.
Chinese slippers- we gave out slippers for women to change into so they could dance all night, we went down to china down and bought 100 pairs, it was a huge hit!
Invitations- Frame Art in Fresh Meadows- A+++ Always the most gorgeous invites. I got my save the dates and thank yous here too. Donna is wonderful and easy to work with.
Dance Lessons- Dance Destination on Queens Blvd- A++ Thank goodness for these lessons!
FOB song- HEartland- I loved her first- Awesome song!
1st dance song- Savage Garden- I knew I loved you before I met you

I am SURE I am forgetting things and vendors. I will add more as I think of it. I hope this helps, this site helped me so much I just wanted to give something back!

We had our wedding on GCM in October and my review absolutely mirrors yours! Pre Wedding they were a disaster. Day of Wedding they were fantastic. It stinks to have to be put thru such nonsense when the final product is so fantastic.

I too used 12th Night & Mittermax. Fantastic!! Still waiting for my video though - from Travis (I think that is who you are thinking of).
