Bachelorette Party

Food was good. Our waitress ,GINGER, was so funny and charismatic.

Tuxedo Park Huntington

According to DH, some loose buttons on some vests, but terrific service from Huntington store. Carle place store not so attentive to detail.

Bridal Gown and Bridesmaid dresses
Bridal Reflections: 9

I know that they get mixed reviews, but I had such a wonderful experience with all of salespeople and seamstresses. They always greeted us warmly, and took us in right away to get fitted. The only reason they get a 9 is b/c some of my bridesmaids had problems with their zippers. Make sure you test everything before you take it home! I worked with Rose Ann in the Bridal gown section, and Zi Zi was the seamstress.

Headpiece
Denise Leli: 9

The headpiece was custom made for me by Denise. The headpiece was absolutely beautiful! The only problem was that b/c I have such short hair, we needed to put a wire from one end to the other make it fit more like a wreath.

Shoes
Craft Shoes: 10
Found the perfect shoes, a great selection !

Makeup
Oksana:10
She did my makeup, my sister's and my moms and it lasted all night! She is wonderful to work with, so talented and genuine!

Limo
Ultimate Class: 10

Wow! We had such awesome drivers! The staff at Ultimate class were so nice and accommodating. Dawn booked us and gave us a great deal. We had Janice and Bill and they were so helpful. I highly recommend them. The limos were clean and neat, and looked brand new!

Ceremony music
Sterling music: 9.5

Allegra was great to work with, although sometimes slow to get back to me via email. The music was perfect at the ceremony. We had a string trio and they sounded wonderful. It really added such a nice touch to the ceremony.

Band
Body Heat: 9

They are amazing musically! The dance floor was packed all night long. The lead singer of the band was not there b/c she had a baby a week earlier and her replacement was very good. They played everything we wanted them to play and then some! My only concern is that they put in a CD at one point and I am not sure if there was a musician on stage. My DH went to get them to get back on stage and they quickly complied. I have not yet addressed this issue with them, but future consumers should follow up on this. They also did not sing Happy B-day to my DH as I wanted them to do, but I also did not remind them, but it’s okay b/c he didn’t want to be sung to by the whole reception anyway!

Photography and Videography
Perceptions: Pre-proof rating-10

Anthony, Sarah, Travis and George were all very pleasant to work with. We hired Anthony b/c we loved, loved, loved his photojournalistic eye. We did not notice him at all during the reception, he totally blending in. We took pictures before the ceremony at the OWG. The grounds there are so beautiful and we lucked out with the weather. Anthony and his staff did a great job in getting all of the photos that we wanted. They were so easy to work with and made us feel really comfortable. I will give them a rating again based on our proofs. Totally worth every penny so far!

Florist
Jack and Rose: Okay I have been getting tons of FM about Jack and his service so I am going to break down our experience with him and grade each part:

First meeting: 10

Jack nailed down our personalities at our first meeting, which lasted 2 hours. He showed us several samples, took his time in explaining costs and how he gets the flowers. My DH really liked his personality and we booked him on the spot. We were very happy with our first meeting with him- he suggested a lot of great ideas that fit into our grand scheme. We put down a deposit, and got a receipt that day.

Design session: 9

Again, Jack spent over 2 hrs with us until we were happy with what we wanted. We changed our minds so many times and Jack was very patient with us. We were originally going to have all Callas as our centerpieces, but then felt that the room would look to “bland” without color, so we totally changed gears and Jack was totally cool with that! He suggested some beautiful color combinations. We talked about the contract, and Jack mentioned some add’l fees, but we worked things out. If you are going to any florist, it is always a good idea to ask what add’l fees are going to be at final contract. We did not do this, so take it from personal experience. ASK! In the end, Jack worked everything out for us.

Centerpiece Design session: 8.5

We met with Patty, and that was a surprise to us, I thought we were going to meet with Jack. Patty was very sweet and listened to our suggestions and changed some things to the centerpiece. At first, I was not happy with the centerpiece, but then Patty showed us some variations on it and it was fine. We spent about an hour with her. I only give an 8.5 b/c of the surprise of not meeting with Jack, but Patty was very nice and accommodating.

My DH, as some know, was in a car accident the week before the wedding. So he took sometime off to recuperate and did a lot of wedding things for me. He met with Jack and spoke to him about not meeting with him and Jack was very nice to him, explaining that Patty had been with the company for 16 years etc. He took the time to go over every aspect of the contract with him, too Over the last week before the wedding, my DH spoke to Jack almost everyday. He gave us copies of all of the changes we made to the contracts, all of our receipts etc. DH was very happy with the service from Jack.

Final Product:

OMG!! The flowers came out better than I could have imagine! My bo-k was all mini callas, stephanotis and lemon leaf border. In our contract, it stated that I would have 20-30 mini’s, but Jack put in so many more callas! It was so beautiful. The bridesmaids were very colorful, each decorated with the leftover fabric from their dresses and pearl pins. Jack came personally to my parent’s house to deliver them and gave me a dozen roses too. I was so pleased with all of the personal flowers. I, of course, was very reserved about my J and R experience b/c of some things that were said on this board. But I have to say, that Jack and his staff did a terrific job with the personal flowers. The centerpieces complimented the room at the NRC, adding color and vibrancy. Some may say that they needed more roses in them, but we were pleased with the centerpieces as they were. The centerpieces were high with callas, Asiatic lilies, black magic roses, solidaster and confetti roses (yellow and red roses), on a high glass stand with a rose floating in the stand.

Reception:
The North Ritz Club
Ceremony: 9

We had the ceremony in the basement room. I wish the ceilings were higher, but I can’t change that! They did a beautiful job decorating the room with roses to match the color scheme. The room was packed, and I think some people may have been standing.

Cocktail hour: we didn’t get to go to the cocktail hour, b/c we had to do the ceremonious “yichud”, which is when the bride and groom are alone for some time right after the wedding. And of course, everyone said the food was very good and the service was impeccable. We had some food in the bridal suite and it was very tasty!

Reception: 9
Okay, so by now you all know that I got sick at our wedding! B/c I ate so fast in the bridal suite before the reception, I was already feeling a little bit queasy. It was so hot in the reception room that we begged George to put the AC on. Of course, it was b/c we were dressed to the nine’s in heavy clothes, but still, we didn’t want to sweat all night. We did the first and second dances and then right into the Horah and OMG the look on my face in the chair is priceless. I was so scared. They went to town lifting the chair and then spinning me around that afterwards. I was so dizzy! So yes, I did not get to eat b/c I got sick right after during the first course. I rebounded though and was able to enjoy the majority of the wedding after dinner was served. Everyone enjoyed the Chilean sea bass and Chicken Tuscany w/o prosciutto, but a lot of people complained that the Filet Mignon was overcooked. Wedding cake tasted good, what little that I ate and the sorbet and pastries were good too, from what people told me. George was terrific, ensuring that the party ran smoothly and Monica, my bridal attendant, did a superb job getting the stains out of my dress and getting crazy glue to glue on any beads that were falling off of my dress! They get a 9 b/c of the beef issue and the heat of the room. Which, in retrospect, means that it was so hot b/c everyone was up and dancing and there was a lot of body heat! LOL

Overall it was a beautiful day. The love that I have for my husband is endless and I am so happy that we are finally married. He is truly my “beshert”, my soul mate.
