Our wedding at the Westbury Manor
've been meaning to do this for the longest time but better late than never. Here is the review of my wedding vendors:Invitations Designer: East Six (A++++++++)
My personal invitation designers at East Six did a truly amazing job on my wedding invitations. I can't thank them enough for what they did for me. After sending my invitations out, I received so many compliments. People told me that my invitations looked so chic. But this is what I like about them. They were extremely patient, attentive, creative and flexible about what I wanted. They are very friendly and bubbly but professional at the same time so it is really easy to talk to them. I told them that I wanted a garden theme and they just ran with the idea. They created a design that was both unique and reflective of my personality. They did the job in a matter of 2 weeks. Afterwards, I also allowed them to design the entire wedding day package. My only regret was that I didn't do my wedding day package which included my wedding program in the same run as my invitations which were letter pressed. To save money I went with digital press. Even though it wasn’t letterpress it came out beautiful anyway. Everyone at the wedding was amazed at how beautiful and detailed oriented I was. But it wasn't me because without Stacey and Marina at East Six and their outstanding designs, my wedding wouldn't have made an impression on my guests. To do them justice, you can review 'Ping & Chi's' wedding package on their website at www.eastsix.com. If you have any inquiries, you can email me. They also design for any occasion.
Westbury Manor (A++++++++++++++)
I can not thank them enough for the lasting memories they gave me. As soon as I reached the Westbury Manor, from the moment they open the door of the limo, they treated us like royalty. My Maitre D was Ian. I had reservations in the beginning because I thought he was young. However, on the day of my wedding, he was energetic and made sure that everything ran smoothly. I had mentioned to him that I wanted my ceremony outdoors and even though the weather didn’t cooperate, he tried his best to give me an outdoor ceremony. Even though it didn’t work out, my ceremony in doors was just as beautiful. I wanted my tea ceremony to be in the CH room because I wanted it to be in the presence of my guest. I just thought it would be interesting for those who were not familiar with the tradition. I had it in the library and the conservatory. Even though it was very crowded, Ian had a nicely decorated table set up with my tea set and two chairs. He made it happened and my tea ceremony went smoothly and was done in 15 minutes despite the crowd. During reception, I was astonished by how beautifully they set up my tables. I had given WM many items to set on the table and I was worried that they would forget something but I couldn’t have done it better then them. One of my favors were Lucky Bamboos that was stuffed in a drawstring pouch laid flat on individual plates. (The plates were a nice touch and I was surprised by the idea). They remembered to bring out my wedding cake bags during dessert time. The best of all was the Viennese table, which took everyone by surprised. I was thrilled by the presentation. About 8 carts of food were pushed into the room to form a circle. Waiters stood in the circle ready to serve. It was amazing. The best was the chocolate fountain, which was a huge hit. My bridal attendant, Lupita was the best. She calmed me down when I started getting nervous. She was supportive and knew what to say to make me relax. One of my bridesmaids’ dress pop open at the seam and Lupita sewed it up. True to previous comments, she made sure I ate and had food ready in the bridal suite. I changed 4 times that day and she was there for every single dress change. She was really very good.
Cons: My only complaint is that they forgot the wasabi when they served the sushi. Everyone knows you can not serve sushi without wasabi. However, in light of the overall performance, this was a slight oversight. I didn’t even bother to mention it.
Stan Wiess: B
I really had high expectations especially since I paid top dollars. During the ceremony rehearsal, we were rudely interrupted by one of the musicians who demanded to get paid. My husband had to go out and pay them the balance. Everyone including my husband were irritated and thought he could've waited until we finished the rehearsal. In addition, I had them play 'Con Te Partiro' for my walk down the aisle but they were embarrassingly out of tune and not in sync. When I watched the video, my suspicions were right. They were off key. I suppose I should've chosen a song that was on the sample cd but I was told that they could play it. The music for the bridesmaids sounded much better.
Flower Michele: A++++
John did a fabulous job with the floral arrangements. I was in love with my bouquet. I had never saw anything like it before.
I showed John a magazine of a bouquet I liked and he ran with it. I told him the colors of my wedding party and he suggested all sorts of flowers. I love the centerpieces. Everyone of them were taken home by my guests. The only thing that was missing was the water for the vases. But that could be because Westbury Manor did not have our tables set up. Whatever the case, John was extremely creative and I loved that he encouraged me to be different and stick with the bold colors which complements my personality.
Duet Photography: A++
Alberto and Steve did a great job on my wedding day. They were everywhere but yet not obtrusive. They were on time that day and was with us until the entire wedding was finished. I have heard stories that some photographers leave without saying goodbye. We were extremely happy with the results of our pictures. We wanted photojournalism and portraitures and they gave us exactly what we wanted. Granted the communication with some of the other Duet staff was difficult perhaps due to language barrier but we were truely happy with our wedding day pictures.
I will attach some pictures later!!
Enjoy!
