Pro Photos Added! Jul 29th Old Field Club wedding, OFC, LandS, Open House Country, Rev.Deb, Bridal Suite of Centereach, Fantasia Bridal

I never really posted very much, but I read a lot of wedding reviews while I was planning, so I wanted to write one too. I posted some non-pro pictures at the end and you can check out a pro slideshow at :
http://www.eauclairephotographics.com/darkroom/share/?client/CynthiaIan
Here's some new pro- pics!, this group was all taken by Eau Claire Photographics:

Old Field Club:
We chose the Old Field Club because it was understated but very elegant and we just felt comfortable there. The setting is beautiful and the indoor and outdoor ceremony options are wonderful. We ended up having rain so our ceremony was indoors and it was perfect. Our guests were facing big windows looking out onto the water and the room was beautifully set up. Tom, the M'aitre D let us wait until seriously about 20 minuted before the ceremony was supposed to start to decide about indoor or outdoor. They had the whole dining room set up as if the ceremony would be outside and then with no problem or any complaints moved everything around, hid the tables and set up the ceremony inside.
My only complaint was that the cocktail hour was a little cramped and a little hot. But, we couldn't really use the outdoor area because it was drizzly and we had a lot of people. We ended up with about 150, I wouldn't recommend too many more than that at the Old Field Club. The cocktail hour food made up for an discomfort though, everything was delicious and there was a lot of it.
The dinner was also amazing. People cannot stop talking about the food. The service was great too, everyone was smiling and very friendly.

Flowers: Open House Country
The flowers were one of our favorite parts of the day. They were amazing. Nancy did everything just how we pictured it. I brought a picture of a bo-k that I loved and she made one even more beautiful. The flowers on the table were perfect and everything really lasted for the the whole day.

Officiant: Rev. Deb Viola
I met Rev Deb while I was working ( I play the violin) at another wedding. Actually it was CJB88's wedding. It was such a wonderfule ceremony, non-denominational but also noncheesy. I've seen so many ceremonies because of playing for them, and Rev Deb was my absolute favorite officiant. My husband and I met with her and she really got us excited about the ceremony. The ceremony is the other thing that people keep raving about, it was the perfect length and she really said nice things. I also liked that we had a rough draft of the ceremony where we could make any changes and we had a lot of choices for different parts of the ceremony. We chose a hand ceremony which was something different and we loved. She also sent in our marraige documents very quickly because we returned from our 3 week honeymoon and had our certifcate waiting for us!

Photographer: Sandra O'Claire from Eau Claire Photographics www.eauclairephotographics.com

Sandra is based out of NYC but she comes out to long island regularly for weddings. We loved her from the start. Our engagement pictures were amazing and we knew then that she would be great to have around at the wedding. Her style is photojournalistic but not pretentious. We just were able to see a slide show and our online proofs and we are so so so so happy! You can view our slideshow at:
http://www.eauclairephotographics.com/darkroom/share/?client/CynthiaIan

We can't wait to work with her to make our album. There are also some pictures from our wedding on her blog. http://eauphotoblog.com/index.php

DJ: L and S entertainment www.landsent.com

We used Mike from L and S. He was fantastic. This was another vendor who I have worked with at other weddings and really been impressed with. Jerry and Joe (the owners) really listened to everything that we requested and Mike did a fantastic job! We really wanted a low key DJ, basically one that didn't talk except for the basics, he was wonderful. The music was great, and he really got everyone dancing. Even us, my husband and I really don't like to dance, but somehow we eneded up dancing a lot! He also did the perfect fade out of our first dance, we were worried because we didn't want it to be this big coreographed thing that everyone would stand around and watch, and he made it all work perfectly.

Ceremony Music: Sara and Sergi
We used friends of mine from college who live in California. My husband and I arranged music that we liked for violin and cello, we had an Aphex Twin song for the bridal party, an opera interlude by Puccini for me, and the wedding music from the sound of music for the recessional. My friends were amazing, it was beautiful! If anyone is getting married in the Bay Area check out Sara's website, it's www.saraspieth.com

Cake: La Bonne Boulangerie www.labonneboulangerie.com

The Old Field Club packages come with a cake form the Boulangerie in Port Jefferson. A basic cake is included but you can then upgrade to pretty much anything you can imagine. I brought Corey a picture from a Marth Stewart Magazine. I told him a couple of changes that we would like, and they made it exactly how we described it. There are pictures in the slideshow and on my photographer's blog. People couldn't believe how good it looked and how good it tasted! We got chocolate cake with cannoli cream filling and vanilla cake with fresh strawberry and chantilly cream filling. Yum!! We also had cookie trays from this bakery on the tables, they were delicious especially the pignoli cookies.

Invitations: LA Productions
http://www.laproductions.net/

We ordered out invitations from Laura and LA Productions. She has all of the same books that you would find at Papyrus and Kate's but she has much better prices and very personal service. We did have a little glich in terms of timing, I had to stay on top of her a bit, but in the end she really straightened everything out and did a wonderful job. We were very happy wth the invites

Place Cards: My mom!
We didn't like the place cards that matched our invitations, they didn't really go with the flowers on our table. My mom loves to paint, and she had done a watercolor painting of wildflowers that went with our flowers and the whole feel of the day. She scanned the painting into the computer and made beautiful place cards, we also used the picture on our programs. I told her that when she retires she should start a wedding business.

Hair and Makeup: House of Style in Mt.Sinai
We went here for my best friends wedding last summer and definitely wanted to come back for mine. Julissa did my hair. I loved it and not one piece moved for the entire day. Lydia did my makeup and my mom' s and my MOH's we all were very happy. None of us really wear too much makeup on a daily basis so we were nervous, but we were all very pleased with the makeup!

Dress: Bridal Suite of Centereach
In the end, my dress was wonderful. We had a few mishaps along the way, but the end result was great. The first time my dress came in, it was the wrong color, so they had to order it again. Luckily i was pretty neurotic about getting the dress done early, so there was plenty of time. Then during the alterations we had 3 different seamstresses, some good, some not so good. The hard part, taking in the top with a lot of beading was done perfectly from the beginning. The bustle was the issue. But in the end the last seamstress figured out how to make it work and look just right. I got tons of compliments on my dress and this was the only place that I have ever seen this dress. They had a great selection and really worked with you to find the right dress.

MOB Dress: Fantasia Bridal, Junnie Lee
My mom had a really hard time finding a dress that fit her style. She ended up finding one that she loved at Fantasia. She did have a problem because they did some special orderig and the dress was not made how it was ordered, Fantasia was back and forth with the dress company, but a new dress wouldn't arrive on time. Luckily my mom was able to buy the store sample and have it altered. The alterations were difficult and they did an amazing job.

Tuxes: Mens Wearhouse
Argh. This was probably the most irritating part of the planning. We decided to rent tuxes and my husband wanted to pay for them ahead of time as a groomsmen gift. You would think they would have made this easy, but no, it was one annoying thing after another. We originally ordered everything in queens where we live, but then they messed up so many times that we went to the lake grove one where the fixed everything. I highly reccommend the Lake Grove Menswearhouse! The other 3 that I went to in the city were horrible!

Favors: Pizzelles (Italian Cookies)
Both of our families have a tradition of making Pizzelles, a thin kind of waffly italian cookie. We ahd grand plans of making a million, but then we decided to buy the delicious ones that they carry at the price club. My mom contacted the company and ordered directly from them. We wrapped them up in a pretty bag with a bow and added a note and recipe. They looked really pretty and people got to bring home some good cookies!

Honeymoon: Europe!!
We spent almost 3 weeks in Europe. We travelled to London, Salzburg, Weissenkirchen, Vienna, Prague, Venice, and Bassano Del Grappa. If you have any questions about any of these places please feel free to drop me a message. We had an amazing time!
