SueZboss Wedding Review- 8-5-05 Fox Hollow

REVIEW of my 8-5-05 Wedding at Fox Hollow:

DRESS:
David’s Bridal: B+.
My dress is perfect, and I really have none of the complaints that some of the girls have had with them, but the reason for the B+, is their customer service is a bit lacking. (I was toying between A- and B+). A few times I went there withOUT an appointment BIG mistake. They are SO rude to you, that “YOU HAVE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT”.. blah blah… but all and all, I ordered my dress… the dress came in 2 months, I picked up the dress, and NEVER went back! so all was good.






TIARA/VEIL :
David’s Bridal: A
The reason they are not getting an A+ for this is b/c when I pre-ordered my Tiara, I paid one price, then when It came in, I got home to find the sticker on it said it was ½ the price I paid!!! ARGH! So I had to go back and argue with them for over an hour, but in the end, they refunded me the ½ of it, and got it at a great deal, and LOVE My Tiara and veil!!!! :)








ALTERATIONS:
Phyllis from Gownfind: A+
Phyllis is GREAT! Phyllis is SO nice to work with, really accommodating, and she did an AMAZING job on my alterations! She had to take in my dress a full size (over 2 inches) b/c I got a size bigger dress b/c I was nervous about fitting into it, and after her alterations it looked like it was MADE FOR ME! She did a great bustle with 5 buttons that made the back stay up perfectly! She was also very reasonably priced! I wish I knew about her when I was looking for MY dress as well as my BM’s dresses! DEFINTELY look into her if you are still looking for Dresses or alterations! She also did one of my BM dresses and it came out great! www.gownfind.com . My alterations were AWESOME! I will go to her if I ever need a dress altered again! AMAZING!!! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!

BM DRESSES:
The Bridal Garden: A .
I found the Bill Levkoff dresses I wanted at RK bridal, but did not want to trek into the city to order them, have the girls come back, etc.. we were not comfortable about on-line ordering and shipping, and I did not know about PHYLLIS yet (see alterations above), so I went to Bridal Garden in Bethpage and Colette was awesome! She gave me a discount price (which would match RK Bridals price) so that we could order through here. My sister did her alterations there and they came out PERFECT (although, a little pricey )





TUXES:
Mens Warehouse: D+
Going there to order was good. Met with Jillian, who was VERY nice and went over the options with me a thousand times. We wanted a place that was a “chain” b/c our GM are all over the place. So this worked out good. They each went to a location near them, but 1 had to call it in. So on Tuesday of the wedding, I called and was told that they were ALL in, and can go pick them up. Well, I stop what I was doing, go there to pick them all up, and turns out DH’s is the only one NOT there… ARGH! I was SOOOOOOOO annoyed. The lady that answered the phone who told me they were there was an IDIOT when I was speaking to her, so I should have known! I was just annoyed!
SO, then we go the next day to p/u DH’s and the fit is WRONG. The neck was TOO small, and the pants TOO long. The pants were able to be hemmed up right then, but the neck was Still too small. The seamstress tried to move a button, and re-sewed it on, but it made a gap in the tie area. L We were there for 1hour and ½ 2 days before the wedding trying to solve this. Finally after the 1 ½ hours, we just said, “IT’S FINE” and took it and left. I thought I was going to kill someone. OK, so skip to the next day (the DAY BEFORE the wedding)… We speak to his dad, and ask how HIS fits, he said FINE. (GOOD!)… so when we are speaking about the vest, his mom is like, “oh, it’s a nice gray”… HELLO??? His dad was supposed to be in BLACK!!! So I called Jillian the Manager again, and told her about ALL the problems we have! PLUS, ALL the shoes came in in the WRONG style (the rounded tip point, rather than the square.. .but since ALL 6 are the same, we are keeping them, rather than risk anything not arriving on-time). She had to order the new vest, that will be picked up the MORNIGN of the wedding, and hope for the best! One of the GM’s tuxes was ALSO too big on the shoulders.

I would NOT recommend them for Wedding rentals.

**Added AFTER the wedding: All and All, the Tuxes looked GREAT in the end. The guys had NO trouble with them (AFTER all the problem areas were fixed) and DH looked GREAT in his!**









BACHELORETTE PARTY:
Lips & Culture Club- A+++
We rented a limo (see below) and went to the city. First we went to LIPS and had an AMAZING time! Our waitress was AWESOME!! (LOVE Regine!!)


We had such a fabulous time. I think Neen made a new best friend (que Regine again!) . Then we went off to CLUTURE CLUB… we had an AWESOME time there!! We met my long lost love, if it weren’t for the fact that my wedding was 2 weeks away… you never know…




LIMO (for Bachelorette Party):
Ultimate Class Limo: A + .
They were on time courteous, and very reasonably priced. The limo was immaculate and our driver knew where he was going! I dealt with Matt to book. I DEFINITELY recommend them!




INVITATIONS:
Rexcraft.com: A-
When we first got our invites, we ordered the EXACT same font/color as in the sample card we had. When they came they were TOTALLY different. Very small print and light ink. We called to complain, and they re-printed our ENTIRE order and shipped it to us in 2 days!! The final product still did not look like the sample, but we were happy. That is why they have an A-, b/c the samples did not match. I would have preferred them to be a bit darker/bolder.


FAVORS:
Wrap With Us: (Salt and Pepper Shaker Favors): D-
I am STILL very annoyed at WWU. I went in MARCH to get Salt and Pepper shakers as my wedding favors, and they only had 25 in. I was told that the rest would be in by May 25th, but to call a week before to see if they came in or not early. So, I call around May 25, NO SHAKERS. OK, fine, I was told they would be in by JUNE 1st. June 1st comes and goes, NO phone call, so I call them, and they say “oh, now it’s June 30th!).. OK FINE, but now I’m panicking… so I start to look for other favors (see 2nd favors below)… June 30th comes and goes, NO PHONE CALL, so I call them and they say, oh now it’s July 1st (HELLO, what is that 2 days later??) , but STILL no shakers on July 1st!
So, I got other favors, and then called to cancel my order with Wrap with Us on July 5th or so. JULY 20th I get a call from WWU saying “oh, the S& P shakers you ordered are on backorder until AUGUST 15h, we are calling to make sure that is OK with you, b/c we don’t have your wedding date down (HELLO AUG. 5th!!)…. SO ON JULY 20th that is when I FIRST heard from WWU about my NON-Favors!!! HELLO?!?!?????? I already canceled the order 2 weeks ago!! I am still very annoyed at their customer service. I LOVE their stuff and prices (which is WHY they didn’t get an “F” from me), but they need to get their act together.


FAVORS:
Magical Favors: Marianne: (2nd Favors): A
Marianne was the BEST! Throughout this DRAMA with WWU’s she was FRIENDLY, HELPFUL and SO NICE! Originally she thought she could get me the favors that I needed to fulfill the WWU order, so we placed that order, it turned out to be the wrong ones, so I had to return them, but then when I was looking for new ones, she would E-mail with me back an forth about what favors I might like, and when we were on the phone we would talk for at least 20 min. at a time, it felt as if I’d know her my whole life. She is definitely a pleasure to work with. Her prices are great too! HIGHLY recommend if you are looking for favors.





PROGRMS, PLACECARD DESIGN, UNITY CANDLES, and FAVOR BOWS:
Ang from All About the Details : A+

Ang has been a true lifesaver!! She told me she would help me design place cards that had velum on top, and the number behind so that if there is table switching, all you have to do is switch the numbers, NO new printing!! This saved my life!! 2 days before the wedding, I got rid of 2 tables and had to re-arrange all of the place cards, and I was thanking gosh for Ang the entire time!! They came out Awesome!




For my programs, I told her I wanted a very simple design. I e-mailed her what I wanted included, and she e-mailed me back an AMAZING program!! All I had to do was click on Print and they were done!!






When I had the drama with the favors, The first person I called was Ang. I knew she would be the ONLY one to understand!! She totally listened to me vent, and totally calmed me down and came up with a game plan on getting new favors! Once we got the new favors, she told me where to get the boxes and ribbon to wrap them in, and then CAME over for an ENTIRE Sunday to wrap them with me (actually, not with me, for me, I only did 10 I’m a big help! Kimberly bride deserves props for this too! Awesome cutter!)




My Unity candles came out BEYOND my highest expectation!!! I knew what I wanted in my head.. but Ang put that into action… HOW PRETTY DO THESE LOOK?!?!?
Ang wrapped them up all nice for me so when we got to ceremony, they would be neat… I was nervous about them being crinkled or not straight, but Ang said NOT TO WORRY…When I got to the front of the Alter, I was holding DH’s hand and whispered, “How good do our Unity candles look… they look awesome, right”.. and he said “yup!” Turns out, Right before the Ceremony started, Ang noticed they were slightly crooked, and ran up to the alter to straighten them to make them PERFECT!! Because that is what Ang’s work is… PERFECT!!







I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER!!


REHERSAL DINNER:
HR Singletons Steakhouse (Bethpage): A+
We had 20 of us there and they allowed us to do their “party menu” which included a choice of 4 entrees, and included Salad and Dessert/Coffee. We also added unlimited Beer, Wine, Soda for the 2 hours for a minimal additional fee. The food was DELISOUS! Definitely Recommend if you need a place to have RD!



GM GIFTS:
PNY MP3 Players: A+
The guys LOVED them! These players are SO awesome, b/c they act not only as Portable MP3 players, but as FM Radios, Recording device and memory storage. Awesome gift!!


BM GIFTS:
NECLACES, BRACELETS, EARINGS by Sue (ME ) A+++
The girls LOVED them and they looked AMAZING, I give myself an A++++ J






Weather: B+
The day was very touch and go! The AM was nice, but Hot and Humid. THEN when getting ready, all of a sudden LIGHTNIGN and the LOUDEST THUNDER I have ever heard. And it started raining! So I’m freaking out. Then my Bridal Attendant comes and tells me it stopped raining and that the ground looks like it’s drying up! SO we go outside and check it out, and sure enough, DRY and less humid!! CEREMONY OUTSIDE was a GO! I was SOOOOo happy!!! Still a little Hot and Humid, but not nearly as bad as it was in the AM.




HAIR:
Jenn the Hair Genie: A+ (My hair, my sisters hair, my mom’s hair and a BM’s hair. )
JENN is AWESOME!!! My hair came out better than I ever expected!! I went for 2 trials with her, and was unsure of how to do it… the day of, I told her what I liked about the trial, and how I wanted it slightly different, she did an AMAZING JOB!! My hair was PERFECT and I’m a very picky person about hair!!








My sister never went for a trial, and Jenn winged it that day… it came out AMAZING!!! I LOVED :love: her hair!! Same with my BM!! She did the nicest up-do for it.




My mom is VERY picky also about hair, and does not adapt to change easily. So the first time the hair was done, mom was not happy… surprise, surprise. So Jenn re-did it and it came out even BETTER than the amazing first time!!! It’ looked SO nice!



DEFINITELY RECOMMEND JENN!

MAKE-UP:
Oksana: A+ (My makeup, Mom, Sister, and 11 yr old sister)
What can I say… Oksana is the BEST makeup artist EVER!!
I told her I wanted very natural makeup during my trial, so she did browns and a mauve with a nude lipstick! I FELL in love with it the second I saw it!!! Absolutely amazing!!
She also did my sisters and mom’s! My sister told her she wanted it very natural also, and as Oksana said “this is as natural as Oksana will do”.. and my sister came out AMAZING! As did my Mom. She did my little sister (11 yr old) so nice! She just put a little bit of make-up on her to make her feel like “one of the girls” and it was the PERFECT amount! (See pics above under hair, of Me, Mom, and 2 sisters (pink is older one, and blue is 11 year old!)




DEFINATLEY RECOMMEND OKSANA!

FLOWERS:
Signature Florist: A++
Totally LOVED how my flowers came out!!! They were Beyond my highest expectation!!! George from Signature florist is the nicest person to work with and he designs AMAZING work for an AMAZING price!! Definitely check them out! (they’re in Bellmore). I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND them!!

















DJ:
Variety Music: Ray : A+
From the first time we saw Ray, me and DH knew we had to have him at our wedding! He was professional, energetic and just the right amount of involvement! We wanted someone who would get the crowd going and he certainly had his work cut out for him! He did a TRULY amazing Job. Everyone keeps raving about how good he was and DH LOVED him, and he normally hates DJ’s and says they’re “Annoying” but NOT RAY!! He kept us dancing all night!! At the second to last song, I even asked Ray if it was time to go home b/c I was Exhausted!! He said One more song… so we danced until the very end!! Definitely Recommend. Leslie the office manager was a PLEASURE to deal with also!!
























Slipper Basket kept everyone going all night long…





CEREMONY/COCKTAIL HOUR MUSIC:
Ensemble Champlain: A+
Ok, so this grade is based on what I have heard from guests, b/c unfortunately, during the ceremony I was in LA LA land, and did not hear the music. I remember hearing it waiting for my turn down the aisle, but then it’s all a fog. I can NOT wait for my Video to hear them!! We were only in CH for 5 minutes, and there was a mini crisis going on, so I was not paying attention to the music, but everyone told me they were AMAZING and that it was the PERFECT option for the CH!! I’m SO glad we decided to use them!!! DEFINATLY RECOMMEND!







OFFICIANT:
Father Tom: A+
Father Tom was amazing! From the first day we met with him we knew he was the person we wanted to perform our Ceremony. Just in speaking with him for a half hour we felt like we’ve know him for years! He is truly amazing and we are so happy he was there to perform the union of marriage for us. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND.






HALL:
Fox Hollow: A+++++++++++
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! I LOVE THE FOX HOLLOW. Everything was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. My Bridal Attendant, Meghan was the NICEST person I have ever met and she was with me the ENTIRE day from 3:30 on!! I wish I could take her home with me! Every time I needed something she was RIGHT there… AMAZINGLY helpful!!!

Meghan:



Our Matire’D, Sam, was AWESOME as well!! Totally on top of things the entire night. He totally took care of us!!!

ANYONE who has a Wedding at Fox Hollow does NOT need to worry about a SINGLE thing!!! They totally take care of you there and make you feel like you are the ONLY bride & groom in the world getting married and that you are the most important thing! TOTALLY AMAZING!!!
DEFINITELY DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!!



















HOTEL:
Fox Hollow Inn: Total A
Pre-wedding conversations: A-
Blocked rooms there, Samantha was very nice. Getting up to the date though, when I called with questions, they DIDN’T return my calls, so when I called Samantha to tell her nobody returned my calls, she apologized, but that still annoyed me that I didn’t get a return phone call (even when I went there in PERSON, a manager would NOT come out to speak to me!). ** After wedding- annoying at the time… now I’m over it! **

Wedding Night: A+
They let me check in SUPER early with 3 rooms!! And then let us do a late check out!!! It was SO nice being able to just walk across the parking lot to the hotel and our Bridal Attendant Meghan, put all our stuff on a cart and wheeled it over right into our room for us!!! The next morning we got up, had breakfast and sat on the patio. It was a perfect way to relax after our wedding night!!
Definitely Recommend.
